Excellent playing ... but this is one of the reasons I put the horn away for good - trombone literature isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Honestly, does anyone listen to something like this for enjoyment?!
I really authentically enjoy this piece. It's melodically and rhythmically interesting. I can absolutely understand not liking it - it's difficult to understand the scorn that you seem to have for it. But we are entitled to differing tastes. To answer your question specifically, I enjoy the complex melody; the interplay between soloist and orchestra; and the virtuosity required of the soloist (which you noted). Can you explain what you dislike (hate) about the piece?
@@raymondfallon7429 I completely agree with you. I think the complex rhythms and crazy interval jumps are actually really pleasing to listen to. The 2nd movement is also particularly really beautiful and musical as well.
@@dylanle8239 I think this solo is pretty dope lol, and the 2nd movement really gets me especially when it's played with the piano. And I'm glad and nervous I get to play this this year for my senior year.
OMG, the sound, the lyricism, the SHIRT!!
Loved the glissando on the 12th partial. respect!
LOL 4:27 "WOO EE!!!" I can understand why shes wooing!! Soloist is amazing
Didn't realise how beautiful this piece could be until I heard this performance!
Paul Creston was such a prolific composer. Sad that he is no longer with us.
Bellissima fantasia!!!
The music was so great I couldn't even hear the loudness of the shirt.
Okay listen people... about the shirt... that is magnificent trombone playing... he can wear whatever he wants... I mean it's not a viola.
What a fantastic piece. Amazing Performance.
Fantastic performance from everyone!!!
Awesome!
Very beautiful 2nd movement playing!!
Damn, this is really f*cking good play.
Wow great job
Excellent playing sir!

Not the easiest instrument to compose a solo part for for.

Maybe you weren’t good enough to pull it off, and that’s the only reason you put it down? Because it is a good piece for sure.
