Nice hedgetrimmer Andy, my Dad was a hedge cutting contractor for over 30 years, here in New Zealand, he had Bomford, a Simeon, 3 Mc Connell, and a Spearhead over the years, was always exciting getting a new one or a new tractor to put one on, really enjoy your videos mate👍
The first hedge cutter I used (40+ years ago!!) was basically a square cab with a square boom mounted just in front of steering wheel this would go in and out on rollers , it had a second boom at end so you could go up and down, it had a flail head. all this was mounted on an MF tractor which you had to climb in through back over linkage. you could fit a large circular saw head which would cut a hedge down in one pass, including telephone wooden poles these did not even slow the saw down !!. it was a beast to drive but nice to see a well trimmed job at end of day.
Hi Andrew. Health to enjoy the new hedge cutter! Could you give us a closer look some time where you have the fixings on cab door for the window grill. Nice tidy job and quick to take on and off. Thanks again for your videos and hard work.
Looks really great ,not changed much to mine which is five or six years old but we have not got the forward reach.I wouldn’t worry too much about stability of the tractor, I run ours on a 4 cylinder 100 horse case which is a lot smaller than your tractor obviously and she carries it exceptionally well .I cut mostly orchard wind breaks here in Kent that on average needs the machine to be at full stretch to reach the tops, ours is a six meter telescopic .A bigger tractor is not an option as I wouldn’t be able to get passed the fruit rows without damaging the trees .The forward reach would make yours a bit heavier I’m sure but they are great machines a very well built.Given the choice I would definitely buy shelbourne again. All the best.
Not sure is you would have known but behind the head of the cutter is a boot that doubles up as a stand and it folds up to get out the way and also protect the hydraulic fittings
Use the same machine.... Couple tips... Never forget to remove transport pin before slewing round....ours snapped off and not to push too hard when folding up against transport rest plate. Noiced support stand still down behind head, does fold up to protect pipes. Otherwise happy trimming 👍
Smart looking trimmer always liked the look of a Sherbourne. They just look built to last. My mate runs a 5m bomford vfr and loves it. Wish I could say the same for his knuckle boom mcconell that I run. Its not had a great start to the season 😕
Great video Andy, dad's popped in to see the new toy. Looks a nice well built machine andy. What about some led beacons on the back of it for road work?
I am on my 4 th shelbourne just got the new 875 vfr with a ch 1200 head they make the mcs and the rest look stupid I got a hydraulic nose it’s cutting 2years growth at speed and that’s in Cumbria so it’s takeing 6 foot off orsome

Awesome bit of kit..question were did you get your hub covers from?? Been looking around and cannot find d them for sale.. keep up great uploading plz
love the forward reach feature saves rubber necking i often wonder if they make them for front linkage
Tractor would become way to unstable, they’re heavy and u need good weight distribution for steady and safe full reach
@@jonathanvanginkel3849 like weight at the rear to steady it ?
Awsome. Jet black hub caps on the Deere look the job too.
Awesome.
@@nasa1985 dickhead.... that spealt ok for you?

Hi Andy it might be just wise putting the guard up on the back of the flail head that protects the pipes

Great vid
I know that tractor is powerful but find it kinda comic at the same time.
