Those brats and kraut turned out great. Can’t wait to see the beans and rice video. Glad to hear you’re giving your back a chance to heal. Breezy is such a sweet dog, with a face and eyes like that, how can you not fall in love with him. Hope the ladies are doing great. Have a very blessed day everyone!
I enjoy your solar cooking videos. The brats really browned nicely and the saukraut brat sandwich looked so delicious. I don't blame you for eating three! I would have done the same. 😋😋 Look forward to the thermos cooking, too. Great deal you found. Beans and rice, yum. Glad you're taking it easy for a few day.
Here’s one for $100 bucks. You don’t have to commit to the several hundred dollar one if you just want too wet your feet in solar cooking. amzn.to/46D31gC
Comment: Now you've done it! Going to the Metzger (Butcher) to get some Bratwursts and going to a Farmers Market that sell Sauerkraut from the fass (Barrel). I cook them in a Dutch Oven at 180°C for ca 30-45 minutes. I brown the Brats, take the out, throw some bacon bits into the brats fat, cook the bacon bits till they are crispy, remove the. leaving the grease in the dutch oven, cook two halved and slice onions in the bacon/brat grease when they are translucent, add the sauerkraut, dump in some beef broth, ground caraway seeds, take a tea ball put 2 bay leaves, 2 clove corns, 2 all spice corns, 1/2 tsp pepper corns into it and drop it into the sauerkraut ( You get the spices without spitting out all the corns) , add some brown sugar to taste into the pot, stir it all up, dump the brats back in, and bake them. Great eats....Now I've got to work in the kitchen after seeing your video.
I haven't had sauerkraut in many YEARS. Those Big Fat Brats look so GOOD! Cooked with natures energy make em super healthy...maybe. Sauerkraut is hard to spell! Took several tries. Glad you're getting long needed rest. Happy Day!
Brad those Bratwurst looked incredible. I was going to ask you about what you thought was the best solar oven a while back however I don't really have a place to put one that wouldn't be a problem if I had one I would slow cook some dark meat Turkey with BBQ sauce until it fell apart and put it on hamburger buns I did that before with a crock pot
Yummmmmm! Sure looks good. I've always enjoyed seeing your alternative cooking methods. This video reminds me of all those sessions on your back porch at your previous place. You have a good point about updating new viewers. While your back is healing maybe something to consider recording is more front porch cooking and such. As I listen to rain of Debby, on my roof, this morning, wonder how many on the east coast are without power. Can't turn on microwave or anything else electric to make a cup of coffee? Thankful that we still have power. Thankful, too, that we have some of those cooking alternatives that you've shown in the past. Sound like, looks like, your back was better yesterday. Hope it is even more so, today. Hope too your CT had good results, as well. Results from Sis's were very positive, at this point. Hope it means she can continue to pause her chemo. Have a blessed day. Godspeed.
Debby Update: Local news at 4:30 am. Over 60,000 without power, mainly south of us. Two tornado touchdowns to the east of us. More tornado warnings are now up in eastern NC. It's going to be a long day.
Doctors office called and told me my results were good. Nothing missing (that they haven’t removed) and signs of rotting from the inside out. I hope all you get is rain.
i got time i can make it there before the brats r done lol you been building and cookin solar if not a decade its been pretty close i seem to recall beans in a thermos i got one of them black canyon growlers from the truckstop i bought with points off my card before i got out of trucking i used my points up at pilot i had $300 worth of points
I have done some thermos cooking before. These two big thermos bottles are newish. I have them filled with beans in one and rice in another. I’ll know this afternoon if they’ll work for cooking.
Brats, OK. That fermented cabbage is a no go for me. I've had stomach ulcers and don't need to go through that again. That pic of Breezy is very good likeness.
I’m not judging you. I might try racing you. Man, those brats are beautiful! I didn’t expect the nice browning. You could always take a torch to them too . If it gets cloudy. A Texas Roadhouse Barbecue is being built by the Walmart. It’s bigger than a football field I plan on dying there. Barbecued everything plus smoked brisket and monster sausages. buckets of slaw. One way ride on the geezer bus ,then eat till I bust. I’m starving. I just got back from making grocery and helping to load geezers less fit than myself on and off the bus. They were a lot heavier too! I have six pounds of keilbasa, and I just realized that I didn’t get the kraut!!!😫 That’s it ! I’m going over to Walmart’s website and order $35.00 worth of Snowfloss. This isn’t happening again. Hey man, can you spare a bite! 😛 325 degrees can cook a roast or about anything. Impressive.
I like Texas Roadhouse, but you nearly have to own an oil well to afford it. Try the refrigerated klausen krout if you can find it. It’s better than the canned.
@@bctruck Most definitely better than canned! Today , I looked at it and said “Ah there’s the kraut.” but ,for some reason, I didn’t put it in the cart! On second thought, it might be time to try making it. I have big mason jars and am a bit overstocked with cabbage I believe you just slice it salt it and cram it into a container. And wait.
@@bctruck Sorry to hear the TRH is expensive. I guessed it would be when the driver told me she had to make reservations. They call you when a table is about ready. Yikes. I guess I can always kill a critter, build a fire and cook it by the creek. That sounds good. I’m in the middle of my second sausage and getting mustard on my tablet. Chopped up red onion and cherry tomatoes with mustard. Wrapping the whole mess in a soft sourdough tortilla wrap. Not too shabby I
The least you could do is pretend those brats were for all you guys, the dogs and the cat. 😅 I guess they are no fans of sun oven cooking? Your sacrifice is duly noted. lol
Charly won’t eat mystery meat and let’s face it, do we reallllllllly know what goes into these things? Ive noticed that around hot dog factories, there is a mysterious absence of stray cats and dogs.

I meant to soak the beans overnight. I forgot. I hope they cook up.
Now I am 100% having brats this weekend!

In 20 minutes, I’ll be bringing the thermos’s in out of the sun and see if the rice and beans cooked.
Those sure looked tasty! You made me want to pull out my solar oven too! Yum!
What brand of solar oven do you have?
A solar oven has been on my list of things I need to get.
There are a couple much less expensive options. I have two others. I’ll get them out soon. One is only $100.

The sun burns the calories out of the brats! Right??? 😂
@@bctruck You are CORRECT, Sir!
Beans! Beans! The musical fruit! 💨
Ham hocks and beans are delicious!😋

Chicken does too.

The American sun Ben is the best. There are a couple of foldable/stowabke alternatives that are around $100 each.
That looked amazing. I could almost test it through the video. The only thing I'm cooking in this heat is me. Black uniform pants, I'm on fire!
I’d have to be allowed to wear shorts or I’d have to quit until fall.
New to your channel, referred by MD Creekmore. Nice sun oven cart! I have been looking for a stand for my sun oven. Awesome!!
Thanjs. Here’s the build video. I built it about 8 years ago. ua-cam.com/video/7smUOdwqq6w/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

I don’t eat the kraut very often. It’s a little hard to find here.
...and if you use real bread or rolls instead of this gummy mixture, it would certainly be a delicious snack :) Greetings from Germany 😉
I have no idea what “gummy mixture” you’re talking about. Nothing here is gummy. I know this, because I’m the one that ate
