Yeah, she will be for us one day. If she keeps getting bred and weaning a good calf, we’ll probably keep her a bit longer for now
We were getting over an 1” an hour in this storm. And it lasted a good 24-36 hours.
My goodness that’s a lot of rain. We got some more bad storms last night, but I’m out of town, so not sure how much total.
I work with cow's and calves. Most of the moms are sweet, do not mine me seeing the calves. There is one mom that is a do not touch my calf, I can take pictures from a distance, last week was the first time I got to touch her calf he was sweet.

Thank God spring has sprung somewhere. Please send some north. We have a front this weekend. Up to 2 inches of ice and 9 inches of snow possible and they are calving too lol

Sooo, you're telling us we should start calling 503 "Houdini"? 😊 Are the new girls pregnant or no? Our grass is greening up finally here in Illinois too. It's nice to see, but our temps are only staying in the high 40s to mid 50s . Have a great weekend!

Sometimes u need to put an older lead cow in with the heifers to help teach them
Thankfully, they are pretty good and calm. We’ll eventually join them up with the weaned calves on the other side of that farm that are a little more trained to follow the Jeep and whatnot.
Not too much longer and you'll have the dreaded buttercups to deal with Bobby Lee🙂
They are definitely there, just not blooming yet!
🇫🇷reason why buying extra heifers at this period year ? To keep all of them in your herd for future ? How many mamas will have as rough idea ? For how many acres ? Great video keep safe
We may end up keeping some of them, but the plan is to sell them this fall. Basically, we have the extra grass, so we are looking for the most profitable way to use it. We found this group for a fair price & the bred heifer market looks to be outstanding going forward. We’ll see!

This is our first year using it, & we have been very pleased. We purchased it from Greg Judy (look him up on UA-cam). They are his design and made by Reject Ranch.

If your worried about smokie put her out now with the cows. That way she gets to play with the other calves and see how mamas are suppose to raise baby's. But still call her up to the France to eat and get her milk. It helps make a better cow. And I have seem mamas teaching them the manners too they watch over them

What are they?? Are they bred?
Angus heifers. All open. Our plan is to put a bull (or 2) with them in a few weeks and sell them bred this fall/winter.
