How else are we going to get to know (of) each other in this world if we do not try to learn from each other and challenge each other when we know a topic or conversation is off. First, I think any time that you have a video posted where you or anyone use the word Nigga, there should absolutely be translations in the video throughout to allow context of what is being said. Otherwise, you leave an open window for misinterpretation. That word show never be left with a misinterpretation. In parts of the U.S. there is a heated debate about the use of the word and the mistake of taking ownership of the word and using it for marketing and money by Black American rappers in the 90s. For people who say the word originally did not have a bad meaning, it doesn't matter. Most groups of people have been labeled in a derogatory/demean way by another group but NONE of the groups in this world have taken the word and opted to make money/profit from a word that have hurt their own people. No one. And, worse, coach others that derogatory word is okay to use. No matter the race, if the word is said out of anger or frustration, it is used in the exact context as it was used in the 1800s in a scolding and VERY often punishing way. One person who I knew, would say "my nigga" all the time to a non-black/non-Slave Descendant person all of the time. Until one day, out of the blue, dude wrongfully assaulted his very good friend who approached him with a hug and "my nigga". Shocked the hell out of all of us. Later, he said, it was the "WAY he used it or said it". We all called bullsh*t because he had been saying it the same way for YEARS and he did not have a problem. And it should have never triggered him in that manner, regardless as that would mean that he can be controlled to a certain extent with just the use of the word. What made that day different. He had recently lost his Grandmother who raised him and forgot the reason why she an injured hip/walked with a limp (ie. the word nigga was involved with her attack). The day that the good friend who went to give him a hug and called him "my nigga", he stated that it triggered him in that moment. But that is the problem. You cannot have it both ways, you cannot dance and rap to nigga this and nigga that and then put conditions on how to use it and EXPECT everyone to understand those conditions. Or else (LOL). Stop marketing the use of the word all together so there is not confusion. Tarzan, since you did not use translation, I was not certain of the context of the conversation held. The editing was a little too tight as well. But IF you stated, "I don't take nigga". You brought your own perspective and wasn't shy about it. Much Respect. I would love to know what you meant because half of the American Slave Descendants are not on board with the use of this word either (for any type of use). And it was interesting that the French rappers were going on about niggas when they do not have direct ties to the word as more than like their folks came directly from Africa (skipped slavery) - to them it is "just a word". The criticism many of us have in America to our fellow Americans is now that the "cat is out of the bag", you cannot put it back in or control its use.
