Good lord, that was a WICKED huge hive. Excellent work clearing that up, but man, watch your suspended loads!
I had my teeth clenched, waiting for someone to fall down a cistern. 😂
Reed was safe... I wasn’t going to push him.
He told them that's good honey 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the comb said it all lol
Standing under a suspended load..........what could possibly go wrong ?
yes it would be a good idea to put something underneath to catch it in case that chain breaks...
No worries: OSHA approved chain + board certified bee-suit donners.
I'm with you buddy! I thought that cocked tree branch on the tow motor was going to let go and sling shot his butt, hooking up the chain .
What the hell does that mean?????? I'm talking about common sense & you're talking about Trump.
Hill Shepherd what you can’t laugh. And he correct
When I hear bzz bzzz bzzzz I scream and run like a little girl and my dad said "he's scared to death of a bee, wasp, hornet but willing to touch a snake"
ALWAYS Willing to touch Snakes. NO "BUT" Snakes are Family ~ : )
Yes!!! I was hoping for Part 2!!!!!
my grand-daddy was a bee keeper. back in the day before cars had A/C people rode with windows down. when a car drove up behind our bee trucks on the road it only took a minute for the driver to wake up, roll up the windows and haul ass to get away from the hive truck. bees come off the hive going along the road. lol
Funny story! : )
That chain breaks, bees win.

Re: "That chain breaks, bees win." - Nope, if the chain breaks, gravity wins.
Working under the flat concrete.... Splat!!!!!! Pancakes anyone, i got honey??
@elzorro43 LOL Still _a Year later_
Scares me.
Nicely done ! Hope you all have many many more BEE-UTIFULLLL days.
They just go straight in there, only a chisel, no smoker, nothing!
Awesome!
Ozi Sie and Stephen Hunter are PERFECT EXAMPLES of my comment on your part 1 of this video.
Again, GREAT JOB and ignore the moronic comments. This qualifies as Educational also.

I never pay much attention to the category the vid goes in... just as long as it posts... interwebs suck here~ Trez
What are the cisterns for any how ? Are they wells for irrigation ? And what kind of thorny trees are those ? WOW I tell you even my dog (Sugarbaby) was freaking out from the sound of bees buzzing ! Cool Video !
Wow awesome cleanup!
you really made me nervous walking under that thing. NOT SAFE...
Only Reed was under it.
@@KillerBeeGuy Reed matters too.
Bees be like; "Who didn't pay the fucking rent?!"
Ha! No shit!
Lol
I like how you get in there are show us all the details, cool.
Thank you. Sometimes it looks like I’m going into danger, but I’m using an iPhone so I can get right in there without being in there.
Can someone please answer: What is a boom, what are these holes used for?
This a very odd location.
I name the vids based on location... this vid was shot @ an explosives transfer station... hence the name Book Bees😊
Thanks for taking the time to post your videos and record I really enjoy them and it's very interesting to see the size of some of these hives and what you guys do thanks

Amazing video. Wow I loved watching.
THANK YOU!~Trez
What was you spraying the spots where the hive was
Pruning seal.
Hi Folks, I'm just curious as what is the purpose of the large cement holes? Thank you
I think they were used for water storaqe in the past. No idea about the holes. www.killerbeeguy.com Reed-KBG
You must have one heck of a set up for processing honey! Could you show us that process sometime? TY for your posts.
We are working on a vid now!
What were those concrete ring wells used for originally?
Not sure. The job was at a transfer station to an explosives plant~TREZ
I swear he sounds like Wilford Brimley....
What makes some of comb turn zet black ?
The older the comb the darker from the bees staining it from use!
At the end what did you pour down each of the 2? There was a bottle of clear liquid and then you had another container with a handle but not sure what that was...? Love your videos!!
Bleach and thank you!
How are the wild bees coping with the Verona mite? do you see infestations.?
That is a question for Reed. I have seen the moth larvae that kills bees... dunno if that’s the same thing. We do come across it often.
What is the liquid you’re pouring down the holes?
Bleach. (@ 11:09 ) The smell of an old colony will attract new bees to the old site. Pouring bleach over the remains of the old comb will destroy the volatile compounds that the new bees would otherwise smell. Doesn't always work because (as in this case) the site is just too tempting (a nice concrete cistern -- dry, cool, and virtually critter proof).
@@kevinbyrne4538 Ha useually no critter would try and take over them. Maybe a ceratin ant would.
Great work on removing the hive; HOWEVER... let's NOT stand underneath a dangling slab of concrete that can crush you mmmmkaaaay?
pool boy part one said same thing
What are the concrete tubes for? I saw another commenter call them cisterns. Are they?
Used to be 100 years ago.
Are these water wells? And if so is the water potable afterwards?
These were rain water storage tanks from years ago. Not been used for many years. But if they were to be used again we didn't use any pesticides on these bees. We knock them down with a non toxic spray adhesive! Check out 'HOLY $%#! BEES for more mean ones! We're glad you are enjoying the vids! www.killerbeeguy.com Reed & Amanda KBG & KQB
Would getting rid of a big hive like these affect the surrounding countryside and possibly crops due to not enough pollination?
Peace
No. Your talking big corporation chemical killing stuff. Reed only removes problem hives. This hive was also sprayed by customer after it attacked them. Therefore, it had to be removed according to Reed’s licencing with the state of AZ. We’ve actually done jobs for local farms that have feral hives. They do not want these hives mixing with the hives that are not problems & pollinating their crops. Some even have local bee keepers bring hives there & they need the problem hives removed so they do not attack the bee keepers bees. ~Trez
@@KillerBeeGuy I understand that this one had to go because it was a sick hive and also aggressive. I was just wondering what effect on the immediate area of the countryside destroying these hives might have. Nature has a tendency to make one thing rely on another and so on up the chain. Do you know of any effects the general public wouldn't really know about?
Peace
No. Your talking big corporation chemical killing stuff. Farms still do quite well in these parts. Reed only removes problem hives. We’ve actually done jobs for local farms that have feral hives. They do not want these hives mixing with the hives that are not problems & pollinating their crops. Hey I was just wondering - have you guys ever tried using Fire Fighting Foam on the bees? Just an idea, I've never actually tried it. Seems like you could cover their entrances with a thick layer of foam and they wouldn't be able to get in or out, and would die off in a week or so, then it would be a lot safer and easier to deal with the hive.
Cutting the hive out is more dangerous for Reed but it’s safer on the environment. Plus you can use the honey if there is any. The rememant bees left over will die off & are not aggressive without the queen.
@@KillerBeeGuy Definitely wouldn't want honey from bees who live on the bottom of the lid of a septic tank.
"We'll Bee! back"
No bees were harmed while filming this video. All honey went to charity organisations.
LOL
If I had your job I would make bad bee puns constantly.
LOL... Reed often does.~Trez
I wonder how much $$ he makes a day doing this....🤔 and does he automatically keep the honey comb he collects from each location, or does he ask the clients first is they want it? I would think most of the clients wouldn’t want it and they just let him keep it. Hence his side gig of honey products...it’s a win win! 👍

Is very safe to work under two tons of concrete....
All those BEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!! Aahhhhh!!!!!
I'm hoping those weren't septic tanks.
Yeah, it sure looked like it. Especially since they sprayed the bees previous to the arrival of the crew. I hope they did not eat that honey. Ugh
I didn't see any plumbing connected to them--I think considering the area, they were cisterns. Water storage.
Oh wait--she said that was an explosives staging area. Those are likely concrete storage bunkers for explosives. Seen some somewhat similar at a couple of older Army posts.
Man, those bees must be on crack!!! How do you not get stung through the suits?? So many other beekeepers do?
i think these are Africanized "killer" bees, they are very aggerssive
+Laban Johnson: And to think they left most of the bees and likely at least one queen there to begin building a new hive. Smart!
After watching this video. A bug flew around me, a screamed and jumped thinking it was a bee, but it turned out to be a fly. -_-
LOL~Trez
1:07 what u doing to the camera!(bee)
You like jazz
I would have thought that assuming these are Africanised bees and eradication rather than dispersion is the intention. The best approach would be to vacuum them first in order to try and catch the queen. Otherwise she is likely to relocate. The Bees and broodcomb could be destroyed.
This hive was previously sprayed & was sick.
I would really be nice if we could hear what you are saying about this hive. Maybe you could do voice over? I watch to learn. I am never going to do your job but am interested in learning all I can.

the girl crazy
Great job done to you all. Where is Hosh?
These vids are not in chronological order. This removal was done around 5 years ago.
What chemical is in the spray?
It’s undercoating/pruning seal. You can get it @ ACE Hardware. Reed is licenced to use very harsh chemicals, but prefers to only use over counter as it’s safer for all. Sometimes he does not use any chemicals at all!~Trez
@@KillerBeeGuy Thank You
No problem. Reed uses it to mask the hive so no bees will move into the old hives place. It’s very effective. But don’t try this at home😉~Trez

They had which is why we were called & the customer had sprayed the hive. So it was sick~Trez

Killer bee's ,seems like a flame thrower of some kind might be in order here!!kill the rest of the swarm although I know only the qeene can make a new hive it would be nice to know the rest of the bee's were dead for everyone's safety!
Reality is we must live with them killers or not... we’re not humting them down... only removing those causing problens~Trez
Does he still have Jim and his wife that was in the documentary?
no
This is the ONLY video I have seen where I was worried about you guys. I didn't want Trez backing into one of those cisterns while filming!!!!!! Or Frank or you falling in when you were scraping off the wax from the walls!!!!
Ever tried vacuuming them up with a Shop Vac? Crazy Idea #2?
We have. But it’s usually in house jobs where the bees are in a kitchen etc. Talk about horror stuff. Bees in your kitchen. Yes we have seen it.
Cant hear too well why kill them when bees are endangered and we are encouraged to breed them?
Feral hives in AZ are deemed Africanized by the AZ DOA, this is why. Beekeepers are welcome to try to re-queen such hives. Reed is not a beekeeper. Also this hive was sprayed with poison by the customer, so it was sick.~TREZ
@@KillerBeeGuy thankyou for taking the time to reply to me. 😊
No problem. I try to reply to every comment but have been on vacation for the past 2 weeks, so I do not go on UA-cam at all~Trez
You are most welcome! ~Trez
I know this is old... but honey bees are NOT endangered.
it is our native bees that need help.
And throwing the empty cans in the bottom of the pit, TAKE THEIR LICENSE AWAY
The customer may have but Reed did not. He did throw bleach tabs in there to keep more bees away. The customer is going to be cleaning those areas once the bees are gone once the bees are no longer a threat. The other person in the bee suit works for the customer not Reed. Reed always has us clean up whatever he brings. He doesn’t leave trash. If you notice, the area was trashed prior to our arrival. Thank you for your concern & comment.~TREZ
So the only bees you have in Arizona are Africanized bees that's why you have to kill them all, you never run across honey bees and save them. And what do you use to exterminate such large amounts of bees? They seem to be swarming all over when your crew is working. I did watch your Q and A video but you didn't really say how you got rid of them and you didn't say anything about honey bees. I am curious, thank you.

If you remove a hive or n Halloween, would they be Boobees?
Maybe-but those are the only kind of bees that give milk!! www.killerbeeguy.com Reed-KBG
What happens to the bees are they killed when this is done?
All of the wild bees in AZ are genetically Africanized so the honeymoon is over! Our primary goal with these bees is to mitigate the threat before they kill someone or something. We're glad you are enjoying the vids! Check out 'Where Outlaws Live With Killer Bees' and 'Hilarious Killer Bee Removal!'. www.killerbeeguy.com Reed & Amanda KBG & KQB
Queen location Hive setup 3 or 4 hives Bee vacuum With 3-4 Hives and with the queen or induce a queen you could have a good production of honey right on this spot. Honey Bees like it so setup up hives and if there is problems with un regulated locals set the hives up on a 10 foot steel pole or 2x4 with a sign Bee reclamation property of US Agriculture. Please do not disturbed bee colony.
Why do you say that?
Why was this not “suitable for some viewers?” I kept thinking someone was gonna get crush, fall in the hole or have their suit fill with bees. Sooooo disappointing
Sorry... I just got a lot of folk freaking over Bee sounds... & our language is crass... hence warnings.~Trez
Also teachers do sometimes use Reeds vids in classes. So they need to know if its’ OK for all~Trez
does smoking the hive NOT work on killer bees? Just curious
Reed has used smoke in the past but found it wasn’t as useful with aggressive hives.

sorry I do not have a translator 😕
google does. lol
What are boom bees?
I title the vids based on the location of the shoot or something said in the shoot. This vid was shot next to an explosives plant. It was their transfer station. Hence BOOM.
12:00 They look like Teletubbies.

hmm i thought you bomb the bees away
Aren't these bees just going to start a "NEW" hive right near this spot anyway & still bother the workers??????????????????
They didn’t & Reed gaurentees his work.
They killed the queen so the hive dies
Why are the other honey comb are black that looks like theirs no honey
It was a sick hive as customer had sprayed it. The dark comb is older comb. ~Trez
Can you give me a heart
❤️
There's
were those so called killer bees? the africanized honey bees?
yes
they didn't look like they were swarming as much as other hives i seen you take down so i was curious.
From the description, apparently the state deems all wild hives to be africanized and must be removed.
"Reed is licenced & registered for Bee removal in the state of AZ. He attends yearly classes with the DOA in AZ. They deem all ferrel hives to be Africanized, a threat to the public; to the European honey bee & must be eradicated."
If that septic isnt used anymore , it should be caved in and backfilled
Wayne Weckwerth it's not a septic lol. Cistern for irrigation most likely

The bee world
what to do if you see a hive- 1. call these guys. thats all. simple right?
You only collect the honey? You are not trying to relocate the hives? Is it not a waste? Or all these the African killer bees?
Reed is not a beekeeper. He is hired to remove hives. He is licenced with the state of AZ & does his job according to his licence. He is to treat feral hives as a threat as the DOA considers them to be Africanized~TREZ
I thought beesuits were designed and intended to protect a wearer from bee stings. These guys seem to think beesuits can protect the wearer from being crushed by something that is so unheavy that it is immovable by unaided human musclepower, and requires a big-ass chain and a forklift to raise & move.
Those lids look really heavy and probably weigh hundreds of kilograms.
Guy’s & Girl. No we do not think they will protect us from being crushed. But only Reed was under the slab. I just shoot what he does & sometimes it apprears I’m right under there too. But the only thing I’m ever under is about 900’ of mountain when I’m working underground. As that is my other job. This I just do because I like too.
.....should leave the bees alone...c'mon.
Reed was hired to remove them. So he does what he is hired to do. He is not a beekeeper.
This was a sick hive as the customer had already sprayed it with poison. No beekeeper wants poisoned bees. 😬~Trez
