There's no such thing as "Guitars without borders". Good thing you have produced SO many videos so we can use the knowledge you share to 'help us' to fix it ourselves. The real problem with the Easter long weekend in the US... it doesn't exist. Welcome back Dave!
Have missed you, Dave. Sure, I watch the Friday videos, but you working on guitars is what I like best. I've learned so much that I no longer have someone do my setups. Thanks for that.
I’m glad Dave mentioned the sound of the creaking being normal on the truss rod anytime I hear it I feel like I just damaged my neck but it always seems to do the job
Started playing drums when I was 13 I immediately learned how to tune the Skins every aspect of my drums. I knew exactly what I needed and what I didn't need and what to adjusting whatnot to adjust hi hat pedals everything didn't want to have to count on anybody else to play my drums. it's necessity to be able to tune up your own equipment, unless of course you're Eddie Van Halen then you have guitar technicians but Ed didn't need a guitar tech. So now that I'm playing guitar I did the same thing. adjust and repair my own guitars thanks to Dave thank you Dave's World of fun stuff and God bless you.

I find the truss rod adjustment on my Stingray to be pretty sensitive ... easy to go too far and have to back off. Just like Dave did. Also the neck weebles and wobbles with humidity changes a lot more than any of my other instruments.
@@InjectBleach It does actually. In late spring and summer it becomes unplayable with the strings almost on the fretboard. A little adjustment and it's good to go but ... in the winter the action goes waay up. Tweak the truss rod back and again, it's good to go.
Welcome back Dave. I was just wondering the other day where you've been. Good to see your smiling face. What's the update on your memory after the accident? Seems like your doing a lot better which I'm glad to see. Cheers!!!!
First and foremost, so happy you're feeling better, or at least up to making a video Dave! Also happy that a northern neighbor sent this beauty to you for a set-up, love the tone on Music Man basses. I gave a gripe though- the company never made a model with a Jazz type neck, at least not to my knowledge. I prefer the 1&1/2" neck up at the nut, so much so that I found a G&L SB 2-T as a back up to my old Jazz. It doesn't growl anything like a MM but I've found some excellent tones with it (thanks Leo!). So I hope the bass player that brought it enjoys playing it with an official DWOFS set-up, rip it up brother (or sister).
Loving the solid colour and matching headstock! ONE pickup - and FOUR controls? Only at the 9:27 mark and maybe all will be revealed by you commenting as you work on it. Never ever had a MusicMan in my hands… 😮
How do you keep your home humidified in Toronto beyond just the humidifier unit on the furnace? I would think keeping it humid enough to not destroy a guitar would be an extra step.
hope your health is well my friend.....just recently got a Sterling SubRay 5 hh that was a bit hard to get worked out glad i came across this today....its a single action though and brand new
Interesting story about Leo Fender and Music Man. Thank you, Dave! FWIW, Ernie Ball's website says to apply the capo to the second fret (not the first)-does that make much of a difference?
Am I the only one who stands on the neck while I'm adjusting it? Not really, but I'm not going to sit around and wait for it to "settle". When it's fully adjusted and strung, it should still flex. Go ahead and flex it.😊 Love the channel!
Dave, I work in the business and the thing people don’t realize with international shipping is Customs. Sure, you can ship anything anywhere. But the minute Customs has your item, you play the waiting game. So you want to ship a guitar to Dave? You could be waiting a few days to a few months. Basically, it’s their discretion as to when they decide to process your item. Then it clears its way to Dave for the work. You have to wait until Dave’s done. Then Dave packs it all away and does all the same paperwork you did when you shipped it to him. Then it goes BACK to Customs to re-enter YOUR country. If anything, and I mean ANYTHING is wrong with your paperwork and the item, you’re gonna have to fight Customs over it. Also, if for WHATEVER reason the item doesn’t enter the country, your item is either returned to you AT COST plus duties and taxes or gets confiscated and destroyed for trying to enter the country “illegally”. If you’ve tried to send Dave a priceless Martin and Customs says no, you may as well kiss your Martin goodbye. So guys whenever you think about sending Dave some work from overseas, do consider what I’ve mentioned to you as well as the points Dave made about the shipping companies not giving one iota of concern for your instrument.
That’s a good looking Stingray. I like the color. Usually I don’t like the egg shaped pick guard. Looks okay on that one. Question: Why four knobs on a one pickup guitar? What do they all do? Thanks Dave. ✌🏼🍻🍀

Hi Dave, thanks for the video! I'm a lefty and had a hankering for one of those that wasn't 800 bucks so I got a clone from China. Overall it's not bad for what I paid, but the holes drilled to hold the electronics faceplate on are too close to the cavity. Any ideas on how to fortify that area? Or if a couple screws take hold should I not care? I was able to make the rest of it fairly nice due largely in part due to your videos. Worked on the nut, sorted out the setup, shielded everything. Thanks for the help!
Great setup as always on this bass. Original musicman guitars were not good. But as dave said the amps were great. I bought in 1975 a musicman 2x12 130 hd amp at at 130 watts it smoked the fender twin reverb. I used it for 5 years in the band I played in. Great amp. Thanks dave for the video. Been a while!

Just a note for the viewers.

The Stingray using the truss rod adjustment wheel is the easiest truss rod to adjust on any bass made. Never buy a bass that requires the neck to be taken off to adjust it. Just stupid.
