I work as a janitor. Last night I found that soneone had thrown away a tiny Christmas tree that had a little music box inside. It played "O Christmas Tree", but would just blaze through the whole song. Thanks to your video I managed to get it playing properly again. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, I found one that plays Once Upon a December from Anastasia and this helped slow it down more like the original. Used a metal nail file and everything!
Hello I have a metal governor I have a couple music box movements i just got playing the same tune I only tested one and im debating the tempo But i figured i have a couple and i might experiment with one But i wondered does your method work for all music box movements? Specifacally one with a medal governor? Also looking at mine it seems like the gears on the bottom of the governor are almost flush with the governor. Is there any danger of the governor touching the gears on the bottom of the governor? Like i said i might experiment I might ask the people i bought them from, but i almost think they wont want me to mess with them I really just want to make my movement a little faster
Hi unfortunately I am not sure how to adjust your movements, it's better to ask the seller who sold them and they should know more about that, there are different methods for different music box brands

Yea! If there’s a rubber governor. To slow it down, adjust it up. To speed it up, adjust it down. If there’s a metal governor that slows down, use the oil to speed it up and there’s nothing to slow it down.
Hi there! Sorry for the late comment, but I was wondering if these adjustments can be done on a metal fan/flywheel? I’ve tried adjusting it very gently but it wouldn’t budge and I don’t want to force it if it isn’t possible

Thank you, so much. I bought the same melody too. I love Elfen Lied’s Lillium a lot, but mine played it too fast. Your a life saver.
Ironic, I searched for this video because my music box played too fast-and it’s the same Lilium mechanism! LOL

what kind of oil and where should I put it? on the governor (fan/flywheel) itself?
@user-eu3iq1yh9j You use heavy weight clock oil like castor oil. Yes, you do put it in the governor/flywheel itself.

Hi for the metal one my suggestion is adding some weight to it and it will slow down, it's a different design so you can't do it the same way 🙏
what if you need to speed up with a metal fan/flywheel? My musicbox is at least 50-70 years old just got it from my mom@@ONETINYSHOP
