    Which lab values did you memorize? A lot of lab values are different depending on which book I look at, and I can't seem to know which ones I should focus on for the NCLEX.

  • @gagabarrier

    For someone who doesn’t think they even know the basics of anything, where do you think I should start? How did you make your study plan??

    • @nursenicolerod3132
      @nursenicolerod3132  5 років тому +2

      S G I would definitely start with the Saunders book! It has a great overview of what you need to know. Also, tons of UA-cam videos out there if you don’t like reading textbooks. UA-cam definitely has tons of nursing videos on topics like shock, sepsis etc. However, for NCLEX specifically I recommend doing uworld questions everyday.
      In terms of a study plan, I gave myself 8 weeks to study, doing 75-100 uworld questions a day, including reading the rationale and making notes on the key ideas. I tried to focus on one topic at a time in the beginning. (For example, focusing on cardiology for 3-4 days. Then resp for 3 days etc) toward the end, I made practice tests of mixed topics. When you’re first starting, I would recommend doing one topic at a time to not overwhelm yourself. Also a lot of your knowledge will come back to you from nursing school!
      If you are short for time, I would recommend doing 50-100 uworld questions a day and reading rationale/make notes. Refer to Saunders If you’re struggling.
      Good luck!! You got this! 👍

    I have a question. I am an international nurse and must take NCLEXRN.
    1. can the program be closed at question 75 and not pass?
    2. If I answer incorrectly, will I continue to receive questions until 265 or can it be closed earlier and not pass?
    Thank you!

    • @African-Giant
      @African-Giant 5 років тому

      1. yes
      2. it can be closed at anytime and it is possible to fail when it closes just as it is possible for it to close at anytime and still pass

      @@nursenicolerod3132 thank you nicole. What kind of study routine do you use like how often would you study a day while your in nursing school

    • @nursenicolerod3132
      @nursenicolerod3132  5 років тому

      @@Paris.beauty__ when studying for my Nclex, I would study on average 4-5 hours a day as I did not have class. When in nursing school, I tried to prioritize 2-3 hours a day studying either between classes or after a day of classes. When studying, I would read material out loud and make general notes, as I am not a great note-taker and learn best by reading material and trying to summarize it in a way that makes sense to me. In nursing school, I would review lectures/do assigned readings. I try to review every week so that by the time the test or exam comes, I feel more confident an not overwhelmed by a huge amount of lectures/powerpoints/material. I hope this helps!

    • @Paris.beauty__
      @Paris.beauty__ 5 років тому

      @@nursenicolerod3132 okay I definitely will do that. I started the nursing program this year. And at my school they want you to use Saunders in class. So I was kinda confused if I should still just stick to Saunders only. But now that you mention that you still read your assigned chapters and went over lecture I will start doing that. Did you get any drug dosage calculation on your nclex at all. And please keep us updated on your life after nclex. Im new to your channel and just subscribe. Your very helpful..

      @@Paris.beauty__ Thank you so much! I found the Saunders book extremely helpful as it covers everything you need to know. It is a good tool. Drug calculations are important to know, and I would study them (ordered/hand x Volume) and paediatric calculations too. I will be sure to create more nursing videos and keep you posted! Thanks! :)

    Okay so when people say they use uworld and they write the rationale, are you writing the question too or just the rationale?

    • @nursenicolerod3132
      @nursenicolerod3132  5 років тому +3

      Ke Ke i personally just write down the key points of the rationale and not really the entire question. I do make sure I read the entire rationale, but write down the main ideas/key concepts. I think it would take a really long time by writing down every single question. however, if that’s how you study/learn better, then go for it!
