I remember vividly watching this at the time (my first experience of watching Dame Edna and my whole family screamed with laughter). Can’t believe so much time has gone by, I was 16 then and now you can flip those digits. R.I.P. to all you wonderful voices from the past.
thank you very much for sharing, i think anyone who sits on the same show as Dame Edna deserves a medal, you just can't beat the Moonee Ponds Dame, cheers
Gloria and Olivia fangirling over each other... (Love how Olivia calls her "Ms Swanson' - Gloria smiling at the respect) in the most polite way... they're both so delightful and gorgeous. Livvy singing live. And Parky, Livvy and Ms Swanson cracking up over Dame Edna. Just fabulous.
I find it very sad that they have all gone now, such talent, but there it is we all get old. In the beginning to the end, it’s what happens in the middle that counts and we just must get on with it.😢
I'm very pleased that someone still has this episode, but why oh why did you cut Dame Edna’s entrance where she threw gladioli to the audience. The look on Gloria Swanson's face was what made it!
It's just ridiculous how pretty Olivia was here. Nobody cuter then or now. They say everyone has a doppelganger...Well, Olivia doesn't! And of course she had a voice, personality, and heart to match. Interesting to hear her voice getting this raspy. She must have been really working hard during this time, and this song is E X T R E M E L Y difficult to sing as well. Anyway, this is a real gem of a video ..thanks for sharing.
We were so lucky to have these 3 great artists who have now departed our world they had wonderful lives they'll be missed terrbly thanksforposting this program 😢😢😢😢😢
Go back and listen to those three big hits now. You know Peter Allen opened a lot of doors for Olivia. And when she teamed up with Jeff Lyne it went ballistic. She was lucky but she used her luck
RIP to "Parky"....but i always think of my dad, as we used to watch "Parkinson" religiously, but im sure it was so my dad could see how many times he touched or scratched his nose..."go on touch your nose" my dad would cry...then when he did my dad would go "wahhhhey" followed by the number, in order, of times he touched it during the episode
All gone now, so sad. By the time my kids are middle aged most people won’t have a clue who they were. Sarah Bernhardt was a superstar most would now respond with Sarah who?
Two iconic moments in pop culture with ONJ that I will never forget: 1. Michael Jacksons "Liberian Girl" video. 2.Backstage footage from Madonna's "Truth or Dare: In Bed With Madonna"!
RIP Gloria Swanson (March 27, 1899 - April 4, 1983), aged 84
RIP Barry Humphries (February 17, 1934 - April 22, 2023), aged 89
RIP Sir Michael Parkinson (March 28, 1935 - August 16, 2023), aged 88
RIP Dame Olivia Newton-John (September 26, 1948 - August 8, 2022), aged 73
You will be remembered as legends.
Thanks!
Yes indeed. Always remembered. All colossus in their art. Thank k you
Exactly what I was thinking. RIP all of them. Olivia Newton John was so sweet. Her grandfather was Max Born a very very clever man.
Rue McClanahan of the golden girls was born on February 21, 1934 - 4 days younger but passed away in June 2010.
Interesting Olivia grew up in Australia but never became a citizen
Olivia was truly an angel amongst humanity. Such a beautiful woman throughout, with an angelic voice. Miss you Olivia..RIP..x
This just might be the greatest juxtaposition of 20th century legends. RIP all 4 of them.
What an absolutely heart-warming joy to see all these wonderful people, sadly passed, but at their joyous best in life.
Rip Michael Parkinson, Olivia Newton John, Gloria May Josephine Swanson, and Barry John Humphries, you will be missed
Crazy ain't it. The time moves on, but it always hits me when it becomes so apparent

I was 15 and remember it myself. Olivia was so natural and a true beauty. Rest in peace all.

It is very sad to think they are all gone now 😢
Olivia was always so humble - her stardom never got to her
Gloria Swanson was beautiful. Wow, to get her on his show must have been incredible.
Her voice was unprecedented
Loved seeing Miss Swanson getting a kick out of Dame Edna.
Wow its great to see 3 different stars you would never normally see together. Olivia was always my fav. She was my first concert I saw in 1982
And just like that, all of these amazing global talents, have transitioned into, immortal. Vale, thank you.
Parkie was looking back like it was so long ago...and now all 4 are gone...all legends!
ONJ what a wonderful speaker, singer and talent. RIP x
Just the combination of those three. Amazing.
Gloria Swanson is so great. Wish women were like her today.
Today we have classless no brainers trash queens like the Kardashians...
She was wonderful.
Wish more were like Edna.
Dame Edna...😂.... Gloria Swanson wonderful. ❤ Olivia a decent well brought up girl. Respectful. Parkinson one of best talk show hosts ever. 🎉
I find it very sad that they have all gone now, such talent, but there it is we all get old. In the beginning to the end, it’s what happens in the middle that counts and we just must get on with it.😢
I share your sentiments and cheer you on with fond memories and gratitude for the gift life is.

I’ll have to look for the full version!

I laughed so much haha, that was so funny 😂, …. but then I felt very flat … they’re all gone 😔
Oh, Olivia…I’ll never get over the loss of your beautiful spirit. ❤
Why did she have overnight success in America? (1) she was beautiful; and (2) she had a glorious voice. She will be missed forever.💕
Yes, yes, AND she was sweet, humble, and had that adorable British accent.
such a great voice on Miss Newton-John
I wonder where they all are? Happy I hope.

Olivia gave me the horn in 1972. I remember her on the telly in 1968 with her friend Pat Carroll
🌹🌹 she is like princess Diana, Sweet innocent and kind, Leave them alone 🌹🌹
Yes Edna is, and they kind of look alike.
They've all gone now so 😢 sad
All gone now, so sad. By the time my kids are middle aged most people won’t have a clue who they were. Sarah Bernhardt was a superstar most would now respond with Sarah who?

The cheap wigs you wear now...
