MotorStorm is a 2006 racing video game developed by Evolution Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the Sony PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Announced at E3 2005, the game was released in Japan on 14 December 2006 and worldwide in March 2007. MotorStorm has sold over 3 million copies. Two sequels were made, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift in 2008, and MotorStorm: Apocalypse in 2011. Another game was also created, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. As of January 2012, the online multiplayer servers for the game have been permanently shut down.
The events of the game take place at the fictional MotorStorm Festival in Monument Valley. The objective of the game is to win a series of off-road races and to be the overall winner of the Festival. MotorStorm holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest variety of vehicles in a racing game - players are in control of seven different types of vehicles throughout the game: bikes, ATVs, buggies, rally cars, racing trucks, mudpluggers and big rigs. - Ігри
This was the very first ps3 game i’ve played back then. i remember getting blown away by the dirt splashing all over the screen. Good times!
I have a memory of the first time I played PS3 and the first time I played it on the big screen at a friend's house.
I played for 3 hours and I started to get sick from playing on the big screen in this game, from the fact that the dirt is very realistic and the game itself is very dynamic, I vomited more and more, but I continued to play, because this game I really liked, in the end I couldn't stand it and puked on my friend's floor in the room where we played. I never played PS3 again. I'm still a PC user and play on a 21 inch. The trauma of my childhood did not go unnoticed))

@@jaderowell2750 nice, This game had a heavy influence in my music taste too. It introduced me to nirvana, slipknot and bunch of other bands too. Hopefully if we ever get a remake or remaster, it should have the old soundtrack plus some more but from the same genre.
MotorStorm really showed what the PS3 could do. It was a visually impressive game at the time. It was also one of my first games when I got my PS3 in 2009 which came bundled with that game and Resistance.
Wow.. this game at the time was very revolutionary. Made people that much more excited for that next gen experience.

I found this game hard as hell back then, but even with that, it was truly a one of a kind and we will never see another motorstorm game again. Rip motorstorm.
And even today in 2023 it still looks incredible, and the SOUNDTRACKS!! WOW!

Oh man the memories
I remember watching my friend play this game when the PS3 first came out, i was amazed ny the amount of detail the the cars had, the shiny surfaces and partical effects blew me away.
I remember being a kid at walmart, they had just set up the demo booth for the PS3 and this was the demo game. When I first went to play it I was watching the demo footage thinking "Interesting, they have real footage playing before you get in game kind of like how the tony hawk games did", but then it just launched me into a game and I just remember being blown away when I saw the graphics and realized I was previously looking at actual in game footage.
I remember playing this when I was 3 or 4, holy crap this unlocks very dormant memories, thank you good sir!

11 year old me was mind blown watching and playing this game. Still am today. Every time I think about it I’m like “it’s probably just nostalgia” But nah, the game really just looked that good. It was so fun

Whoa, this looks better than half the PS4 racing games out there. Where is the map overlay for direction? How does one know even know where to go? It looks like there are tons of pathways and overpass route choices. Seems absolutely confusing.

Why do we even improve graphics still? Could have stopped in 2006 and I'd be happy, we got crisis where the pebbles on the ground are 3D, theres no way you could improve gameplay with graphical fidelity past that.
if you combined the ps3s hardware and games with the xbox 360 interface and online, you d have the perfect console
