Thats a brave woman right there and did it in front of the camera with a smile and composed, I would have walked away after looking out the window. Fair play 👏👏👏👏
The people who do this kind of work are a different breed. Don't know if I could do this even watching it on here I get tingling in my feet running up through my legs and tummy. It's unnerving stuff.
I had the good fortune to visit this cathedral in 1983. I was so impressed with the condition of this gothic masterpiece. Therebvn is an interesting story about the spire was after it was added in about 1330 or 70 years after the cathedral was finished. They didn't consider that adding the 6000 ton spire was more then the cathedral was designed for and the main stone supports under the spire began to literally bow inwards. Nothing was done until the late 1600's when the architect who designed St Pauls cathedral, (Christopher Wren) in London redesigned metal trusses to keep the stone supports from bowing further.
I would absolutely love to do that! I've done the standard tower tour, but not right up to the top. I am a rock climber, that top section looks easy but very exposed. I have done the ao nang tower in thailand, it has some very exposed bits too. You feel like it's all just going to fall, but of course it isn't.
Ahh the days when John Noakes climbed Nelson’s column without a safety harness.... and the great Fred Dibnah.... All credit to the girl.... many couldn’t do that..
Makes me sick watching it. Good job Helen and so glad things have moved on since John climbed nelsons column, but even with the harness that is scary and still doesn’t look safe

I think that the cameraman is braver, all of what she is experiencing but + he holds a 10 kilo camera
My heart is in my mouth watching this!! Helen...WOW!!!!
Wow
Fair play to her! I couldn’t help thinking that the top was going to fall over with four people hanging from it.
I was waiting for the mortar to pop and have them come tumbling down too. I was scared for them.
Just did the cathedral behind the scenes and got up to the to the top of the tower and even stepped outside. It was mind blowing
What an amazing woman. Also worth a mention are the camera man and technician that went with her!
My legs were like jelly just watching this !!
I am glad it's over !! 😮
That's one brave lady, the palms of my hands were sweating just watching !!!
I can't even watch this! I got as far as when she has to go outside the spire, and vertigo got too much for me. Respect!
this is amazing....hope one day to have the chance to set foot in this cathedral...regards from São Paulo - Brazil
Stay in your own country

She's awesome!

If Fred Dibnah had a daughter like her he'd be very proud of her I'm sure. He'd probably have laddered the whole thing bottom to top !
I think she is freds lol
No balls at all well done
Although he couldnt show it Im sure he was proud of his daughters whatever they chose to do in life.
Brian's last trip to the top. "Someone else will come up and change the bulb next time " he says
I've been there! And if you're not sure if it's worth visiting...do go there, it really is worth a visit! Amazing place!
Well done what a great job guys
2:32 That reaction 😂

So, how many steeplejacks does it take to change a light bulb?

I'm surprised this video only got 20,778 views since November 2014.
Absolutely no way on earth. But fair play to this remarkable lady.
Brave young woman!! Bravo
Amazing girl! You are really an awesome lady
Even with all the safety gear it still takes some balls to do it 👏
Remember sitting in a classroom at my nearby grammar school looking up and watching a guy change a bulb in the early 70's
Wonder if it was Brian
This cathedral is famous in all of Russia.
Yes
Very brave lady
i started swetting as soon as i saw the imence drop & im also shaking slightly
Think of the people who built this in the first place. Four people up there at once.
Good on you young woman. How the hell did they build that spire?
forgotten the spanner 😬
I had to stop at 5:00 - can't watch. But i gave it a LIKE.
chapeau madame,,,and blokes.that takes some nerve.
Love her no fear
In the 70s they had no harnesses, fred dibnah
Climbing up on Salisbury Cathedral
I could see the...
I wanna get married in that tallest cathedral !
Makes me sick watching it. Good job Helen and so glad things have moved on since John climbed nelsons column, but even with the harness that is scary and still doesn’t look safe
Good job! I bet you was exhausted after the adrenaline wore off!
Well done she's mad
Good on Helen. She didnt wear ear protection from the chimes!
Oh hey guys did anyone turn off the power,ha,ha!
I just went there and the chimes aren't that loud
Not quite John Noakes, But Helen has plenty of other qualities to make up for it!
Why Helen wants to get to the spire this is real horror
what about blue peter
That girl has a bigger "set" than I do!!!
i live in salisbury😍
anker houseng
Dang she's cute.
would not do that for £1,000,000...
I feel sick
Then it snapped off because there were too many bodies up there!!!
My thought exactly. The spire simply looks too lightly built to support 5 bods hanging off of it.
Same, how can you trust old cement
