I love Lake Charles and Adley really does a great job showcasing the history. When we return on our Big Blend Spirit of America Tour, he will be working with us again to do some more about the history. Thanks for watching and commenting, it's really appreciated.
The claim that the German settled Lake Charles first is interesting. I wonder why it never had a name before Charles Sallier and the LeBleu family came around.
I didn't think much of Lake Charles until I moved away. Now it's one of my favorite places. And, yes that's my dad at the end, if you were wondering about the name similarity.
Great info - there's so much rich history in Lake Charles. My family moved to Lake Charles when I was 5 and I still live in Lake Charles. I know that in school we had to learn how it was named for Charles Sallier and how the lake was called "Charlie's Lake." - Of course a lot of other little things. We did the Charpentier District tour when I was in 3rd grade.
Hi Bridget: We are actually organizing our next visit right now! In the meantime, we moved all our videos to one place (we have ten online radio and video magazines). If you want, subscribe to our youtube page for bigblendmag so you can see when we are coming out your way again. We are a mother and daughter team about to embark on a five year journey through the states, visiting all our national parks and historic sites. We will be broadcasting live from locations all over. Nancy
Just shows you should visit, it is a beautiful place with lots of history, and really nice people. I am pretty sure they would not like your rudeness, they are very friendly and hospitable--too bad you have a mean attitude.
Love Lake Charles, LA. Something for everyone!. Lived here since 1962.
I certainly would consider moving there. It's beautiful and I look forward to visiting again.

I'm supposed to be moving there soon from California. Born and raised in California and it's time fo something new!
When you come back, I'd love to meet you, go around to historic places and talk about them.
I wish this was an actual video (minus the 3 actual videos) instead of some shitty slideshow
Where is that located it looks interesting
