- After recent events, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) sets plans in motion to transfer Districts pending Platt's (Amy Morton) approval and Mouse (guest star Samuel Hunt) attempts to lift Ruzek's (Patrick Flueger) spirits by offering to set him up with a friend.

Lindsay (Sophia Bush) goes undercover in an effort to track down a rogue police officer targeting women leaving a local casino. When Detective Martin Watts (guest star Erik Jensen), who oversees all cases out of the casino, gets word of the investigation he becomes involved much to Voight's (Jason Beghe) dismay. Meanwhile, Antonio (Jon Seda) volunteers to take Roman's (Brian Geraghty) place in the upcoming boxing match against Jimmy (guest star Steven R. McQueen) from Firehouse 51.

Trudy is a badass, but she's hilarious and caring for her officers. Voight is a badass through and through, although he does prioritise his team's needs he keeps his hardass attitude.
Platt is Burgess' adoptive mother and no one can tell me otherwise

Can someone who knows the chicago police department answer a question? Voight is a sergeant, which means one rank above the ordinary police officer. How is he in charge of the intelligence department, and how he has so much power that can even talk straight to the first deputy? Also in all crime scenes he gives orders to everyone, the chicago pd doesnt have lieutenants or captains?
From most shows I see (Im not police just mere observation), each precinct has a captain that runs the whole circus (The room burgess and platt steps into was the captains office as shown in one of the episodes if I’m not wrong). The precinct has 2 departments headed by a sergeant each (uniformed and detectives). Both sergeants report to the captain but I think depending on the captain the departments could run quite autonomously with little oversight (Thus the captain goes MIA a lot). Voight as the sergeant of intelligence usually is the field commander as most uniformed officers responding rarely exceed the rank of sergeant. Even so I think a detective outranks uniform. Unless the precinct captain has the time and wants to come on site which rarely happens then I presume scene command goes to him?
By most shows I mean CPD and B99 so take it with a MASSIVE grain of salt :)

@@juliaally They had just been fucking shot at.....clear to shoot....plenty of videos showing cops shooting at a moving car from their own. As long as you are sure you can make those shots nothing preventing you legally from doing so. (State depending im sure)
