    As a longtime PF1e/Starfinder 1e fan, Its never fun to see inter-system conflict when having fun is the goal of the day.
    I'll admit, I can understand frustrations from being a fan of another sustem and seeing Dnd everywhere, but its all about what system folks can be more comfortable with, and introducing systems to others.
    Always try to offer your players or Dm a fun time, and have a look around for what works out for you and yours!
    Thank you Mr. Loot, for another inspired video! Glad to meet Mordekai as well. Have a good day!

      Introduce the system, and point to specific rules to mimic, if you're suggesting a group takes a rule from another system
      Like, in one of my current dnd5e games, it's heavily homebrewed, and the gm said something about how he was thinking about making custom spells be an option, so I suggested he take a look at the pf1e words of power rules, as a reference, given that it's a pretty refined system, which has a lot of its issues ironed out in dnd5e, depending how you port it over

    I'm surprised Mordakai didn't almost end the world by accident because he refused to admit his feelings for Margaret.

    The only time I see bringing up another system in game would be if you're learning a new system and using it as a reference for the DM to show you how it's done here. For instance "I wanted to make a gish soradin, how do I do that in PF2?"
    Also love the collab.

    All systems are good, some do things different. However the one thing that will make me not want to play your system is the rabid fans.
    It would be the same as me screaming at people to play final fantasy XIV because all their MMOs they enjoy playing suck in comparison. Super annoying right? Same thing applies to people screeching ttrpg system they prefer.
    It's good to encourage people to try out new systems but don't be douche about it, less people will be inclined to try it.

  • @kaylaa2204

    Wait wait
    So the rogue or thief character does crime… and this means bad play? That’s just playing the character

    • @lootgoblinmarketplace
      @lootgoblinmarketplace  10 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I always think it’s funny when people are trying to apply real world mortality into a game but then are continually bloodthirsty in combat and greedy when it comes to looting their dead opponents. If we are going by real world morality you can’t loot someone even if you were defending yourself 😂

    • @kaylaa2204
      @kaylaa2204 10 місяців тому +1

      @@lootgoblinmarketplace older editions, the alignment system was more an attempt at game-ifying the morality of characters. Back then certain circumstances might have genuinely made it inappropriate for a certain character to loot the dead. This could evoke an alignment change if the DM thought it was appropriate. For clerics this could mean their god is upset with them, and for paladins it could mean losing their class and becoming fighters.
      But even thieves at this time couldn’t be good aligned, so for them it’s whatever. They’re thieves it’s what they do.
      But in 5th I feel like the game has grown beyond the purpose this mechanic originally served

  • @kaylaa2204
    @kaylaa2204 10 місяців тому +2

    Here’s the thing
    There are 100% way better systems than 5e. I won’t sit here and lie about how I feel about 5es problems
    However it’s also pretty inconsiderate to think that an already in progress campaign will overhaul its ruleset including character creation, after it’s started. That’s just annoying.
    All about encouraging people to try new systems. That’s an attitude in some parts of the D&D community I don’t like that’s basically vehemently opposed to any system that isn’t 5e. But if you’ve ever DMd you know how annoying it is to prep something for a particular system and then some Paladin of another system says you should switch over
    My reaction is always “I’d actually love to try that game but I put so much effort into making this game work for this system.”

    • @kaylaa2204
      @kaylaa2204 10 місяців тому +1

      The real awful thing is that happens in every game
      For example I have been running AD&D 1e and I got a DM from two separate people after I had asked for DM advice in a discord server. One of these people said I should run it in OD&D while another said I should use B/X and both of these were after we had already made characters and done session 1
      Like both systems that I want to try but that doesn’t make it less annoying

    • @lootgoblinmarketplace
      @lootgoblinmarketplace  10 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I get people want to play their ideal system but sometimes the system you pick is a comprise between what everyone knows and is comfortable with . If I would prefer Pathfinder 2e but everyone is playing D&D then I’ll do that because I want to play with the people, the system should secondary.

    • @kaylaa2204
      @kaylaa2204 10 місяців тому +1

      @@lootgoblinmarketplace yeah I guess that’s true. As DM you can kinda just start a game in any system and meet people interested in playing, but for the players it’s gonna be whatever they know unless they’re keen on learning a new game.
      I like playing all sorts of systems though. Like a friend recently introduced me to Mork Borg so I’ve been a player in that game.

      @@tomykong2915 that’s 100% true in my experience. I’ll concede on that. As a DM you have to learn like… everything front to back pretty much. Players only have to worry about the mechanics they’re interacting with. And character creation of course.

    As a Pathfinder convert myself, who has a freind who still prefers D&D, I get the Problem-Player trying to convert everyone.
    PF2 is a better system then D&D, but the manipulating the other players and threatening to pvp for ooc reasons, is not a good look for the PF fanbase! (Reguardless of if it's a repersetive sample or not.)

    • @adamglenen734
      @adamglenen734 10 місяців тому +2

      @@lootgoblinmarketplace The PF2e community does have an undercurrent of cringe inducing fan boys that do nothing but rant about how much they think 5e sucks, but they're definitely a minority, and 2e is a better designed game in many areas. I'm only a recent convert myself but its become pretty apparent from running 2e that it is much easier on the GM than 5e is. Tables for everything, rules for everything, I haven't needed to house rule a single thing so far, its great.

    • @tomykong2915
      @tomykong2915 10 місяців тому +1

      @@adamglenen734 as a player though, it feels intensely restrictive to me, particularly because I find that a lot of the dedication feats don't quite serve as an alternative to multiclassing well enough, having many of the options needing multiple of the feats to get the most basic elements you'd normally be wanting, putting multiple levels behind, far more than I'd say is reasonable
      D&D5e is a mess of a system, and I'll agree pf2e is a more well handled system overall, but pf1e is definitely my preferred system, it's equally intensive between players and gms though, from my experience, due to just how much the system has in it
