I will never thank you enough to show different styles on lots of different bodies, I've really been struggling with my body image and that helps a lot ♡
I love how many different body types, skin colors and clothing options you ALWAYS include in your vids!!! Love seeing so many different combinations of cool clothing with such cool people!
Can I just say, how much i appreciate you showing diverse bodies for the outfits? It's so cool to think most of us (at least) will be able to see ourselves and envision the fits you're talking about on ourselves!!
I would add: Try out wearing suspenders, they give an interesting look, keep your shorts where you want them without being tight at the waist and are not making you sweat
One type of shorts that I love are pyjama shorts. They're comfy and cute, with lots of different options for textures and patterns. (Think of your grandpa's gingham sleepy time bermudas)
What are you looking for when shopping those type of shorts? Do you look for *literal* pyjama shorts? Or just shorts that kinda give the vibe? Do you have a brand you can recommend? On the hunt currently for the perfect pair haha
@@schueggi I literally go into the pyjama section. I don't have a brand to recommend, but you should go to thrift shops in neighborhoods where a lot of old people live. Usually that works for me
@@alexandraaa819 either with a top that's dainty and cute so you look like a 90s movie character who's just rolled out of bed (like a lace cami or a baby tee), or with something quite masculine and vintage to make you look like you're either an actual grandpa or a little tomboy from the 80s (like an oversized tee or a patterned shirt). As for shoes, it depends on what look you're going for (obvi white sneakers are a good option), but whatever shoes you decide to wear, my advice is to put on some sort of statement sock (like a really big and bulky type of sock, or something colorful, or maybe with a pattern) because it can quickly get basic if you're juste wearing white ones
For a more alternative style, fishnet sleeves & tights are great layers and don't add any heat! Pairs well with a flannel tied around your waist. Also sewing patches or painting on your shorts. If you make your shorts a statement piece, it makes any outfit interesting.
I loved this video. I don't like how I look in shots but still it was impressive to see how they change, especially with accessories ( I watched that part several times). I think I have said this before. I am way older than what I assume your demographic is, but I still enjoy your content. One thing to mention: layers under shorts for modesty/ warmth or plain interest!
Great video! I'm not normally a shorts person because my thighs eat shorts, and constantly pulling out a wedgie is not a good look for me lol. But you've really opened up a world of shorts I've never thought of before, especially looser and longer shorts. All the possibilities!!
This video is chock full of ideas! Holy moly! Thank you for showing and explaining all the different shorts outfit possibilities. I've had such a bland and unexciting wardrobe for the past several years and I really want to start feeling good in and excited about my clothes again. I'm going to devour more of your clothing styling videos to get more ideas. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, I needed this !! I tend to avoid wearing shorts in summer because I never know how to style them but now I have so many ideas ! When I do wear shorts, I love matching a bright color belt with the same color hair accessories :)
@@beepwrld Maybe you should consider making something like a 'Trying styling tips from comments' video. Your audience seems to always bring some fun and cool ideas to table, just like you!^^
Thank you so much for including all sorts of body types!! As a bigger-chested girl I struggle so much to find cute summer tops that fit and that I have the confidence to wear
Great video! And that styling tip with ribbons on the belt loops got me thinking that I can replace them with my matching bow clips 🎀🎀 that I have lots of. Thanks for inspiration 💖
This is the first video I’ve watched of yours and I think it is wonderful. You know what you’re talking about, you give in-depth explanations and it makes me so incredibly happy that you use photos of all body types in all of your segments, showing that bigger girls can wear whatever they want, just like smaller girls. Thank you for this wonderful video, and I will be coming back:)
The bows?? I’m not a big bow kinda person…. But you best believe I’m going to be doing that to my denim maxi skirt. THANK YOU for the ideas!! Especially for the times I want to wear shorts - it’s always so boring :/
Thank you for the great tips and the diversity in the inspo pics! I only own one pair of shorts, but I'm looking forward to trying some new things with them 🌸✨️🌸✨️ blouses and button-ups are my favourite things to pair with shorts, and I find that belts really make the difference! I love wearing a retro chain belt with my shorts
i struggle with body image so i don't wear or own any shorts that aren't pjs, and i live in texas where it's been 114 degree fahrenheit recently. thank you for showing all sorts of bodies wearing beautiful clothes, it makes me feel more comfortable with the idea of maybe getting a pair
Also don't sleep on the sleep shorts (pun intended). The ones that are a little loose, with a lace trim and no drawstring pair super cute with a loose tank top and it's perfect for extra warm days.
lmao I'm 22 and just learned that shoes also contribute a lot to an outfit. I'm only 3 minutes in and I can see the 'shoes' time stamp set for 9:15 but I need to invest in some summery shoes that aren't converse or vans bc I'm finally seeing how much shoes can change an outfit!!
8:07 As a plus size disabled person, I so appreciate the diversity is bodies you’ve shown! I honestly haven’t seen this level of diversity from another fashion UA-camr (although I don’t watch many). I actually paused the video and cried when I saw the outfit with the amputee. That’s not my disability but I’m just so happy to see the disability community represented.
Another fantastic video with superb outfit inspiration, Liz!!! I follow you pinterest & pinned plenty of looks. I wish you had photographed & included the outfits you wore while speaking into the microphone. You had such great examples of your concepts!!! 😁
I just got my first skort and omg where have they been my whole life. It's a tiny, tiny kilt that I would never feel secure enough wearing without shorts underneath. Another favorite shorts look I've been loving is sort of long linen/gauzey tunic tops over bicycle shorts. It feels very Dune somehow, lol.
we love to see it! I've actually grown quite fond of the open button-up over a tank or thinner shirt approach. On hotter days, you can go with a summer linen and still stay cool. A little simple but effective! I should've asked this before your last Q&A vid but how long does filming your "talking head" a-roll take you? especially since you change in between sections of the video to emphasize your points? Your approach seems to be a "write notes and speak based off of them" but I could be wrong
My legs are white and chubby and I'm scared I'll look like a boy-scout if I wear shorts 🤭 But because of this heat, I hope I'll find some cute ones before the summer's over.🤞I like suede lace-up hot-pants and also high waisted denim button-ups.
i hate when shorts do that gobble thing on the inner thigh as you walk. its so uncomfortable. like i want to wear long shorts but they all do that, and short shorts seem too short
im a trans girl who has pretty good fashion sense 'as a guy' (skater look with baggy jeans, oversized everything) and i loved finding outfits that made me look cool, but dipping into women's fashion is pretty much a whole new world (im still gonna probably go for the skater earth tones bc i think that's just my style (the colours go really well with my pretty bright hair)) so im very happy that youtube recommended this to me, ty for the tips!!
1:23 what’s really odd about bloomers is outside of lingerie and “erotic” inspired looks I’ve literally never seen bloomers used for anything other than underwear even in modern day. But again that’s… what they are. It’s just underwear lol
omg I’m from the bay view area of mke!! didn’t know you were a WI queen! im going to NYC for a few days this week, so this shorts video came at just the right time! 🤍
It makes me so so happy to see the variety in bodies you chose to portray. I know that took a long time to do and it does NOT go unnoticed. Thank you thank you thank you 💗
My new favorite trick is shopping in the "swim coverups" section of the store and they go great with shorts. They are often sheer or fun patterns and will even sometimes (though not always) fit plus sizes. I find they can add an interesting flowy layer without adding a lot of warmth, which helps with the 90-degrees-outside-to-60-degrees-air-con-inside transition. HEH. 🤗
i went into the comment section with the intention of saying thank you for including diverse bodies and it made me happy to see that other people felt the same way. really, thank you. i think small things like this go a long way in showing that fashion is for everyone and that everyone deserves to feel confident in the clothes they wear.
Love these tips - can't wait to try some of them out! For folks in the southern hemisphere - I still really like wearing shorts as an autumn or winter item! I'm not sure if it's cheugy, but layering cute tights and tall boots with shorts and pairing with flannel or oversized knits is something I love to do in colder months. Please help - is this cheugy?!
i recently thrifted some baggy cargo shorts and i'm excited to wear them with frilly little tops or oversized tshirts :) i think i wanna try tying bows to the belt loops !!
In the summer, I definitely like playing with lighter layers. I have some sheer swim kimono style coverups I can wear over tops and pair with shorts. Add some extra jewelry, a fun hat, funky sunglasses, and some Docs, and I call that an outfit. Another idea I love that is not good for summer actually is shorts over pants. I am so into the shorts over pants agenda it’s not even funny. I tend to wear jorts over jeans, but I think any kind of shorts over any kind of pants could look cool.
ANOTHER EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE outfit Inspo video! Thank you so so much! Size and style inclusivity is what makes your video different from many others.
Pleated shorts are kind of like trouser shorts...maybe a cousin to them. I love elevating shorts! My fave way to do that in spring is with some sturdy tights 😊 I'd love to try a vest as a top, but I need one that's not wool. 😅 Also ❤ skorts ❤.
For anyone crafty or who just wants more Pinterest results, shrugs can also overlap with "boleros" on Ravelry etc. I have no idea what distinguishes them, but I hope this info helps you find the vibes you're looking for!
Don't forget that you can layer stockings underneath some shorts to wear when it gets colder. I have only ever seen this done with more preppy look and I think it would be really interesting to see it done in different more contemporary styles. (Even though im not that into it)
You have no idea how much it means that you include all body types when using example photos. Such a simple thing makes the biggest difference in terms of feeling like fashion is available to every body, unlike the industry usually markets to us. thank you
I so appriciate how diverse your reference photos are! But about shorts: my favourite go to is actually shorts, a sweater, a wind braker and sandals with woolen socks (weird, I know). It not a warm day look but I just generally love the contrast and to feel the breeze on my little hairy legs.
Oh, this is cool! Will have to try to style my shorts differently this summer, if any of them fit me anymore :DD I love how when you said brooches my mind wandered to ''What if I added ribbons?'' and then a moment later you bring them up~ As for matching sets, I've wanted to actually make one with shorts and a frilly sleeved crop top out of green gingham for some years now. Haven't found the fabric yet and it would also probably be for the best to gather some more sewing skills before going all out on a design of my own! I wonder, if you were to ever make shorts for yourself, what would you go for?
I love how you recommendations are always so thorough! You give so many options, its hard to NOT find inspiration from it. On colder summer days, I combine high waisted shorts with a baggy knit sweater. It creates quite an interesting shape and works, because my upper body is warm even if the legs are bare. And by the way, I started to wear a work out skort under my short skirts, it adds a bit of floof and allows me to sit cross legged. I think it also looks cuter than just a pair of bike shorts.
I’m late here, but I just want to say thank you so much! 💗 As someone who lives in an area that is hot all year round, I’ve been searching for a video like this for years 😢 I’m in general a hot girlie too, so this video is a LIFE SAVER 😭✨ Thank you again!!

"flanel needs to make a comeback" me with my grunge flanels since 2008: :) Also, I recommend sports bras! Some of them are like whole tops now anyway, longer and also with a cute back, so they are worth a fit! I looooooved this video, such fun assortment of suggestions!! Thank you so much for all your time put into this, I also got some new ideas ^^ I've just thrifted a romper too and it's super fun, it's like square shouldered but sleeveless, and my first thought was also just hey, this is like a super good way of covering up a bit on the beach, I mean after you're done in the water and you've dried a bit and you wanna go sit in for a pizza and ice cream, I love that feeling :3 Happy summer to you and all you guys, gals, gays, and theys here :DD
As someone who was born in the 90’s and I subconsciously dress grungy(because my child self always dreamt of dressing like the cool grunge teenagers) flannels are forever a thing
I've had a ton of fun this summer layering open shirt dresses and sheer robes over my standard tank-and-shorts uniform. Also really leaning heavy on jewelry to pull everything together.
Hi, i need help, I’m really insecure about my legs and my stomach and I honestly have no idea what to wear this summer when it’s gonna get really hot... Do you have any tips ?
I felt the need to comment on your video. I absolutely adore you for the effort you put in the video and I love that you tried to show almost any body type and also disabled people❤ People like you will change our world thank you for that ❤❤
I’ve been sleeping on accessories this whole time! My go to is a graphic tee and bikers and it feels so boring now so I need to spice it up ✨ I have thicker thighs and I love a longer short too!
I will never thank you enough to show different styles on lots of different bodies, I've really been struggling with my body image and that helps a lot ♡
I noticed this too and it was refreshing to see!
As someone who was in college during 90s grunge, flannels have never gone out of my closet. Such an easy, cozy, lightweight layering staple.
Girl we can see the effort you put into sourcing your inspiration pics, it does not go unnoticed! ❤

I've just thrifted a romper too and it's super fun, it's like square shouldered but sleeveless, and my first thought was also just hey, this is like a super good way of covering up a bit on the beach, I mean after you're done in the water and you've dried a bit and you wanna go sit in for a pizza and ice cream, I love that feeling :3
Happy summer to you and all you guys, gals, gays, and theys here :DD
As someone who was born in the 90’s and I subconsciously dress grungy(because my child self always dreamt of dressing like the cool grunge teenagers) flannels are forever a thing
I've had a ton of fun this summer layering open shirt dresses and sheer robes over my standard tank-and-shorts uniform. Also really leaning heavy on jewelry to pull everything together.
Hi, i need help, I’m really insecure about my legs and my stomach and I honestly have no idea what to wear this summer when it’s gonna get really hot... Do you have any tips ?
I felt the need to comment on your video.
I absolutely adore you for the effort you put in the video and I love that you tried to show almost any body type and also disabled people❤
People like you will change our world thank you for that ❤❤
my go to outfit with shorts is pleated tan shorts rolled up slightly, a black tank top and a black vintage button up shirt (unbuttoned) I love it
I’ve been sleeping on accessories this whole time! My go to is a graphic tee and bikers and it feels so boring now so I need to spice it up ✨ I have thicker thighs and I love a longer short too!
