The reason why this deal had to happen this week is because Knicks needed to sign DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown Jr and Duane Washington during the offseason in order to use their salaries to balance out KAT's salaries. All of them got $1 above minimum salary as part of the move and a huge salary bump as a result. For example, Daquan Jeffries got 493K last year for multiple 10-day contracts and was looking at being waived or a two-way contract before getting 2.46M guaranteed money. You can say Knicks exploited a loophole in the CBA, but they didn't break any rule for sure. If they waited, they won't be able to do this trade until the next offseason or they'll have to give up more players, neither is a good option.
Yeah that minimum salary trade loop was funny 😂 Give them all 1$ on top of their minimum contracts, so they're technically "not a minimum contract" to allow the Knicks to combine their salaries in a trade.

Dang it Woj. Come back
Great deal for the Knicks.
Are u forreal talking about The Bad Kitty Kat? Brother when it came down to it, he was outmatched every play @ his 3/2 pointer game plan. Plus he was allergic to the paint so he’s literally just a defensive employee at best. His calories in vs calories out is a landslide. Glad to see the trash taken out, put in the better man. Give other hungry wolves an opportunity to be hunters. Everyone eats at the table if you’re chasing the dragon. Players like Kat are not S-Tier caliber, only the top tier matters, everyone else is working their ass off to get there. Nothing else matters except the S-Tier.
You sound hella stupid
No, there was no rumors bc WOJ retired. Simple as that.

Sorry Tucker but you're wrong. Money was not the main reason. The main reason was to have a clear number 1. Not co number 1's that Ant is giving up the ball to Kat. Now Ant knows he is the only number 1. And getting DDV was the main attraction. Randle was cap filler.
The Wolves knew KAT wasn't their guy, and trading him away ensures Edwards will be their go-to scorer.
@@willingexile3374 -- Agree. KAT is nice but not that dawg. Antman is that man.
2) With Naz Reid coming around w/ the development of other guys, KAT became expendable especially for $50M-60M/year.
3) Plus Julius is $30M plus per year w/ a decent Divencenzo.
Lol paying KAT $55 Million on average per season over the next 4 years (assuming he ops in $61 Million year 4) is moronic
Tucker is right. It seems like you just pulled a bunch of crap out of your ass and commented it on the video. The T-wolves obviously already knew ant was their guy. And Randle is actually more ball dominant than KAT. And you can’t just ignore KAT’S contract and the second apron. You have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m not even a huge fan of this channel and would say half of his takes are wrong, but this take was actually right
@@zombiesheepherder1482 Bruh that's the new NBA. There are next to no game changing players making less than 50, other than Brunson. Once the salary cap is goes up off the new TV deal, 50 mil is just gonna be a regular salary for a star player. The business side of the game has changed as well. U have baseball players getting close to 100mil a season
i think the Knicks would be better with Gobert than KAT and i think the wolves would be better with KAT than with Gobert.
The wolves best +/- lineup last year was Conley, Ant, McDaniels, Naz, and Rudy. KAT Was the odd man out. They didn't trade for Gobert for no reason. KAT is not a championship caliber center.
Rudy wasn’t available, KAT was.
This is a really casual take from you. Just admit you didn’t have a take on this. This move didn’t really change the wolves tax this year. It gave flexibility to the future. KAT wasn’t a good fit here. That has been done by better videos. KAT is great off the court but clunky now.
NY tried to get KAT for Robinson and Randle and the pick, MN said no, recently NOP started to offer so NY added DDV.
Again, you are being casual. Wolves got more depth, flexibility in movement, but are not waiving the white flag.
Not a money saving move. Nobody connected to the team has thought that. Casual take.
It was a money move. Glen Taylor implied as much when he was fighting with the new owners, who wanted to trade KAT and made no secret of it.
@@danlower7834 no, that is simply a made up lazy narrative. It is also not logical.
NY needed it and Wolves 🐺 had stipulations for it to happen. End of discussion. It’s so easy
