A piece of advice get some oil (beaver mink etc.) on your moccasins and make yourself some muskrat skin socks and wear a pair of wool socks inside them and your feet will stay warmer

If you stuff your moccasins s with dry grass or leaves will help to keep your feet warmer

Hey brother nice to see u grow out some whiskers . Men during the rev war had to remain clean shaven .after the war they had a choice. And a lot Of men grew out a beard simply because they could.. even more so with those out in the bush for periods of time ..

Just wondering, could you have partially dried your moccasins over on near the fire on sticks? Or were you worried about them shrinking or stiffening up?

I could have, and they might have been dry in a shot time! I've found as long as they're not too close to the fire they're ok.
