i heard this album when it first came out, from the north-side of chicago, but my bestfriend and his dad drove me all around the southside bumping this and everybody was bumping this..he made Chicago too proud #classic
Man, the first time I heard this song I was like 10 or 11, and now whenever I hear it I think about my past. Nothing bad just how different things used to be, listening to this song made me realize what kind of influence Kanye West has had in my life, no-homo no-jock ride. When I say "influence" I mean musically, and fashion wise. Kanye west, you are the man.
I still remember on that movie Fade to Black when Kanye played this beat for Jay and the look on Jay's face was priceless when that sample drops. Classic.
I appreciate everyone who showed love. This song still resonates deeply in my heart and motivates me to till this day. The game of life is not easy but if you are reading this I promise you that you will persevere and thrive your family and loved ones need you to .Remember the camera is always rolling so dont let up and always do your best with no regrets.
This songs gives me the chills it goes to show you can start from the bottom and keep working working hard and not give up ...and great things can happen never give up on your dream is what i get from this song sucess is a beatiful thing and anyone can reach it JUST NEVER GIVE UP!!!!! THANK YOU KANYE FOR THE SONG AND THE MOTIVATION!
you don't need to conform to every new style, just to the trusted artists. by your logic, you're saying that mbdtf was bad? Kendrick is a newish rapper and he isn't wearing tights and mumbling, idiots like future and travis scott suck, but kanye is still a legitimate rapper.
In Big Seans interview he said: One of my favorite songs of all time, its going to sound cliche and shit because I’m like signed to Kanye.. But, the song on College Dropout, way before I knew Kanye, “Last Call”, and its the last song on The College Dropout. That was one of the songs, I think, that most changed my life. It gave me the most inspiration a song has ever given me.. and, really like, it gave me the motivation to keep going even on them days where I didn’t want to rap no more.
Still got the College Dropout on bootleg since it came out in 03. Crazy its been almost 10 years and this still gives me chills everytime. Heres to the roc
This is back when Kanye was HUNGRY, and to be honest with tracks like Power, he is one of the few that still are hungry with the lyrics and message. When he tells his story in this song, it motivates ANYBODY, especially the people working two jobs and still hustlin Just to keep the fucking lights on and the landlord in his office.
MBDTF is definitely his most complex album, both musically and lyrically. There is no way that CD has better lyrics - MBDTF is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Its songs like this why Kanye got a true fan base in the beginning. He totally went a 180. But lately I think he's been coming back around. He always was a little cocky but he was always humble too. He loss the humility in his flow. But we still ridin with him. No ones perfect, raise your glass to Kanye, the human being!
@TheLyhtWorld yup, when I heard Big Sean's so much more and saw it was the last track on finally famous I knew where he got the idea from and what it was inspired from, "Last Call"
but this came out 2004. Last Call by J Cole was made in 2009 . here the sample bridge for you. Mr.Rocafeller ----> Kanye Last Call -----> J Cole Last Call . Alot of hip hop songs have sampling J Cole samples on his beats and you are not saying nothing about it . if you dont like kanye then dont click on the video .
Has anyone got the full instrumental for this incredible song? Or know where you can find it - The short version is on Youube but you don't get the piano interludes
"Niggas want my old shit, by my old albums" I like old kanye but i have to say i love all of his stuff. My favourite album of his changes depending on my mood. LR is definately the best for like deep thoughtful lyrics but CD has some of the best entendres and word play in rap. 808s is a great experimental album, Graduation beats are dope as fuck and MBDTF has some witty but simple lyrics. Old Kanye and new Kanye are both dope, theyre just different.
These time, Kanye was so close to me. I remember goint to waork at 5 am listening to Breath in Breath out while i was finishing gettin dressed up. And this, so bittersweet. I dont wanna take away Kanyes achievments, saying that he a mainstream sellout now, so imma just say, that in 2004 we were on the same tea, now its a World between us. But he a fucking genius.
One of my favorite songs by Kanye. I can listen to the whole thing from start to finish, and then skip back and listen to it again.
one of the hardiest tracks yezzy put out i got it when it first came out and still rocking it in my whip
this song feels like the perfect place to think of your future ambitions and not your past failure
i heard this album when it first came out, from the north-side of chicago, but my bestfriend and his dad drove me all around the southside bumping this and everybody was bumping this..he made Chicago too proud #classic
The music hits different when it comes from your own city
One of my favorite songs

As this song ends and so does the soul of the once bright star named Kanye West
+A A you're stuck in the past. Adapt.
No, I absolutely refuse to, Ill be wearing leggings and listening to rappers mumble if it were up to you, Ill pass bro
you don't need to conform to every new style, just to the trusted artists. by your logic, you're saying that mbdtf was bad? Kendrick is a newish rapper and he isn't wearing tights and mumbling, idiots like future and travis scott suck, but kanye is still a legitimate rapper.
Your assessment of Kanye being a legitimate rapper is absolutely false
elaborate please
Tony Williams is the one who sings the "so wont you raise your glass" He provided vocals for many of the Jay-Z, Kanye and other artists' songs.

This is back when Kanye was HUNGRY, and to be honest with tracks like Power, he is one of the few that still are hungry with the lyrics and message. Kanye at his very best, witty, funny, arrogant with a great flow on a killer layered beat.

Jay's laugh in the beginning is epic
@MJxGOLD he did an interview and said when he was gonna give up he heard this song and it inspired him to keep rapping even when it got tough.
he takes the track to another level starting at 3:56
Has anyone got the full instrumental for this incredible song? Or know where you can find it - The short version is on Youube but you don't get the piano interludes
For real. Old Kanye really got me passionate about school.
Though the fans want the feeling of A Tribe Called Quest
But all they got left is this guy called West
@BklynzPhinezt1 what sso wow about that is there some refernce im missing? his best line is mayonaise color benz i push miracle whips.
@kiingdrew - this song is dope .
Kanye West is the best rapper in the game right now! Shouts out to the whole Roca Fella team... much love!
@lawns92 I never realized that line until about two days ago, then I was like ... holy shit!
