    Pleasure to see a legend in any field who can be bothered to encourage the non expert...
    Doesn't look down on anybody just wants to share his knowledge.
    Tells a 14yo "good job", because the lad made best effort and showed total heart. Too right. Good kid.
    I know massive lumps who never try their best...

    I have followed Dorian Yates for many years from the time he did a seminar prior to his first Night Of The Champions (1990) and was awarded second place and then went on to win it the following year then through to the Mr Olympia’s.
    The seminar was staged in Milton Keynes sponsored by Flex Gym whereby local lads lined up on stage carried out their poses and looked good, and then Dorian got on stage and looked enormous compared to the previous local lads and blew everyone away with his physic.
    Now Dorian has come full circle and sharing his wealth of knowledge in his seminars, he doesn’t hold anything back from his Olympia competition years to post competition and shares his dark times and how he got through the other side and now Dorian is in a better place.
    In depth Training guide has got to be one of the best seminars out there. Congratulations!

    Dorian's trainings methods are excellent if you are ready for it both physically and mentally. Doing it a couple of times is one thing, but 10, maybe 20% of the lifters have it in them to actually do this on a structural basis. It's very demanding and challenging, but potentially very effective.

      It’s certainly a mental pain as well as physical… x

      @@MikeHindMBE Absolutely and many people can't or don't want to go there (week in week out) and that's fine, you can get decent results from other (and often much more time consuming) training methods as well.

    This is great,but those of us who workout at home alone have to go to failure a little differently...i personally never had a problem with pushing myself to the max..cutting back on volume has helped me for sure..

      Failure is relevant to each person mate but the method remains, if you watch part 1 on my channel he actually answers that exact question

    • @jondavid1071
      @jondavid1071 7 місяців тому +1

      Not to speak for Dorian but I have seen him recommend a three way Push Pull Legs split 3x week on non consecutive days for natural folks. For older fellas 2x week works quite well too.
      Same focus
      Intensity with perfect form being more important as you age
      Progression. Focus on strength increases in the 8 to 12 rep range
      Track progress in journal.

    • @Ilethsamael
      @Ilethsamael 7 місяців тому

      I'd say to pick a muscle group and work it with high frequency hit style. Everytime you don't progress increase rest days. When you find the sweet spot add other muscle groups (together or alternating during rest days) and reassess. The most important part is to find the suitable frequency and it is likely best to start extremely frequent and space it through time when you see lack of progress.

    If I'm doing standing rows with dumbells, does it matter what position my grip is? Meaning, does it have to be palms down, knuckles facing forward or can it be in a hammer type position (knuckles pointing to the side)?

    • @MikeHindMBE
      @MikeHindMBE  7 місяців тому

      I get you pal, I like to also use a trap bar, a Tbar could all be an option too.. I would say that you find the grip that feels most compelling and allows you to feel a maximum contraction..

    Dorian is wrong about this way of doing barbell rows targeting lower lats,actualy the whey he doing exercise targetin more upper back part,the higher the torso rises up the more the upper part of back and trapezius work,the lower the torso down the more lower lats work,i know dorian have grate back but this is just biomechanics,this is a reason why lat puldown or chins dont develop midle upper back and trapezius,romboids,but are good for lats and if torso doesen't lean back and stays more straight lower lats work more,
