lap turn for agility

Session one: breaking down the various parts to teach a lap turn. As some background, I have been teaching a come to heel for over a decade which requires the dog to turn into me on arrival and stop by my side. A lap turn requires turning the dog's body away from you on arrival, and sending them in another direction ahead of you. I needed to break this behavior down so much because I needed to break my own patterned behavior to teach him correctly. This is a good example of how we need to get our mechanics right for our dogs to succeed. By breaking it down into tiny pieces, it progressed quickly. I'll post an update this weekend when we add second obstacle.
