favourites phrases of many are probably "the moon is a blabbermouth" and "I'll use the tradesmen's entrance, there's no danger there", but "I'll have all the time" is a classic too: could imply an invincible thief, or someone laughing in the face of twenty consecutive 99 year sentences, or both at the same time...or nothing at all...but really it's all great. "they call me thrifty, ah thrifty, count out 2.50" (lol)
"won't be caught", "bloody tale to no avail", like a wistful recollection in the early morning of watching a gangster movie late at night...or listening to this late at night instead of watching any over-the-top-visuals-that-are-films. "the moon is a blabbermouth". recollections of the end scene of "le circle rouge" twenty years after the fact. imagination, baby, that's where its at....storytelling that is. gotta admire those TCS songwriters....I should try and get to seem them live at least once, I guess. played in a workingman's club in Dublin a year or two ago and were sold out before I could even motivate myself to consider going...tut, tut, tut...I'm pondering on my motives.
Very cool video for an excellent song, appropriately moody and mysterious, romantic and nostalgic at the same time, like watching a black and white movie from the 50s
this song is dope - Spo0kyFox ain't lyin. However "Obscurity Knocks" is locked in my heart forev. Its so funny to me to see how many hits these songs have.
Appropriate images. I always heard this song like an old film noir film. Shades of Humphrey Bogart wandering aimlessly around the Isle of Skye blindfolded, or Robert Mitchum hoping in vain to catch a taxi in Glasgow at 4am, even though it's a song about some harmless Scottish Catholic boys dreaming of robbing a local bank in their sleep: "London jail If I fail". Moscow's in Ayrshire. Love is Amour. Funny. Not actually fatalistic. But it is black and white rather than colour. This band's songs worked best live and acoustic. A folky touch is in there, even though they're originals. "a gallon [of petrol] will get me to Paisley". Geographical references. Cool. Take your harp down from the willows and sing for zero pence as your day job. The ultimate buskers...TCS
I remember my Dad playing this song as I kid and I totally forgot about it until recently when I heard him playing it on piano
Amazing song from an amazing album. Wish more people have heard this.
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard
"tales of rags to riches leave me in stitches" - the best man's fall. I remember that one.

Greatest song ever written: scientific fact.

This is my music, this is my life.
I've been waiting for someone to upload this song for years :D Thanks so much!!
Writing such a lovely song, do the creators do it for their soul? How do they know what feeds their soul feeds mine also?
new discovery.loving them..
Brilliant.
Great images SpoOkyfox for the best song EVER!
Beautiful images for a beautiful song by a wonderful band. Christ knows why they aren't huge. Kinda glad they're not though.
Nice montage of photos. Great song well done - slightly too literal in parts though imho
What version is this from? Love the mandolin work and no idea where to find it. TCS for life. Great montage BTW.
Chris, I'm pretty sure this is the original off "A Happy Pocket". Is it not?
Safecracker? Or ladies man? Certainly not serial killer!
Is it an analogy for something deeper..i think so

It's a pretty good song but it's nowhere near their best as SPOOKYFOX is trying to tell us.
I kinda think it might be their best too mb. Hard to decide though cos they're freakin' amazing.
