4:46 Very outdated information about the Somali piracy...
"In January 2023, the "Indian Ocean High Risk Area" was removed after no reported attacks by Somali pirates for several years."
3:57 Jesus!
Danish don't have proper education like the Americans?
That is Somaliland highlighted and not whole Somalia!
Irony is that is the most functional part of Somalia.
When I played clash of clans several years ago, I noticed some of the clans we faced had Chinese names but were based in Djibouti. I learnt they must be bored Chinese soldiers stationed in Djibouti.
Interesting 😅
gotta prepare my defenses for the next Chinese invasion with hog riders
Probably just random chinese immigrants... They are everywhere
Ain’t no way they getting air superiority with my minion horde
He was probably a construction worker
Imagine being in a country as a soldier deployed overseas and end up seeing Russians,Chinese,Americans,French. Must be a weird sight to behold
Unless your one of them
55 days in peking be like:
Understandable tho, because everyone want that booty
Everyone wants a piece of that Djibouti
Haha I am glad I am not the only one that noticed that it sounds just like Djibouti!

It's amazing they fit all those bases in there what with Djibouti being so small and tight
somaliland and somalia and dijibouti have the same people. but they are different independent country.
Wildest place to be for the first five minutes of ww3 while the non NATO bases still exist.
0:00: 🌍 Djibouti's strategic location makes it a sought after place for military bases.
3:21: 💣 The US built a military base in Djibouti, strategically located next to Somalia and Yemen, to combat terrorism and secure trade routes in the region.
7:16: 📺 The video discusses the presence of various countries in Djibouti and the expansion of the Lumineer facility.
10:30: 🌍 Djibouti benefits from hosting foreign military bases and maintains an independent negotiating strategy with large estates.
13:06: 💰 China's infrastructure investments in Africa are driven by economic interests, particularly in accessing oil and growing trade.

thank you ai
Thanks for saving me valuable time! Seems the video could have been 1 minute long.
Understandable tho, because everyone want that booty
The New York Times said that we will not going to last for two weeks in 1977. 45 years later we are still here. As a Djiboutian i am proud of my nation.
Shake that Djibouti
In all seriousness, since you obviously speak English, how do you feel about all the jokes?
From my travels as an American, unless they get to know you, most cultures will assume you're a selfish ass. Sadly, we created our image on a global scale.
Y'all gonna clean up Ambouli? Got many a pictures of the most absurd amount of trash I've ever seen in my life, and I've been to New York..
no reason to be proud of a nation where the majority lives in poverty
Djibouti is so small and tight - how do they fit all those bases in there?
Onky Allah knows.
This is prime real estate for a 'your mom' joke and I'm struggling not to do it.
By shaking Djibouti
All it takes is a little practice
Lots of petroleum BASED lubricant 😉
3:56 you might want to check your map of Somalia.
What do you mean thats somalia
@@echo5935 *Somaliland
Same at 0:51
somaliland is not somalia
Well internationally Somaliland is recognised as a part of Somalia.
As a Djiboutian
Since our independence on 27 June 1977 the Horn of Africa was already in turbulence due to the conflict that was happening like the Eritrean War of Independence (1961-1991), Ogaden War (1977-78), Ethiopian Civil War (1974-1991), Somali Civil War (1978-now), Eritrean-Ethiopian War (1998-2000) and our own Civil War (1991-1994) and also other battles/wars happening now. Djibouti accommodated migrants and refugees with the help of UN and WFP because of wars and famine. The French Forces remained present in Djibouti do to a provisional protocol of June 1977 laying down the conditions for the stationing of French forces, constituting a defense agreement because of the unstability of the region. There are two main linguistic and ethnic groups are the Somalis and Afars. Although most Djiboutians are Somali-speaking, national identity is fairly cohesive, being rooted in a common historical background.
China also uses the Belt and Road initiative (e.g. Harbour and railline) as a way to get more leverege in countries. When payments can't be made for the expensive construction work, China often get's to lease them for several decades which gives the easy access to strategic infastructure and a monopoly on trade within a different country to project their own interests
no one's dumb enough to debt trap a country with a major US base lol
In this case didn’t China belt/repaired the trains as a free be as part of the base (and annoying the US)
The other countries all have a waiting list because France has 3 bases. Just let someone else have one.
I have never seen a better place for world of tanks for sponsorship 😂
The skies above Djibouti sound like they could be tense
I'm convinced the local population will become multiracial supersoldiers over time 😂
Absolutely 😂
why are you talking about come buckets
Gross. Stop trying to fetishize our women
That has happened wherever US went, Vietnamese became Miss Saigon, Philippines, Okinawa, the list goes on and on. And I remember Obama is from Kenya?
@@einsam_aber_freiHis DAD is from Kenya, Obama was born in the US.
it truely is the pre-game lobby of superpowers and countries in general
It’s self protection not puzzle. If you have a foothold of 10 nations in one place the status quo will forever be maintained.
Good video only thing you missed I feel is a weird cut at 2:35. It’s just a bit off by the sound.
Thanks for pointing out, fix has been made, in a couple hours it should be updated.
In 3:26 you highlighted Somaliland, an autonomous region within the country of Somalia (which both border the Ethiopian Somali Region to add more confusion)
Somaliland is region of somalia
Love your videos!
How Do you know? you said that less than 1 minute after a 15 minute video was posted, what if you dont end up loving this one
I ❤ only Allah.
Imagine that if a country wanted to invade Djibouti, it would usher in the United States, China, France, Germany, Japan resisting together 😂😂😄
the politicians will surely refuge to other countries with the pocket money they receive from those countries
Right? Lol
That was the idea basically stopping Ethiopia from ever gaining a coast
3:56 you used the borders of somaliland not somalia
There's only one Somalia.
Cry
Fun fact: When China built its military base here, America complained.
Can you imagine if Russia got a base too.
yanks complain about everything.
classic American hypocrisy
@@adamsterdam9049it’s hypocrisy to not want to have a enemy base next to them?
Also part of the reason the US was unhappy was the deal with made with China without telling the US beforehand, basically betraying the US.
@@AL-lh2htDjibouti is independent country. Don't need usa permit. If USA have problem then just LEAVE LMAO
0:51 uhh You have Somaliland on that map not Somalia.
Somaliland is a region of somalia 🇸🇴
Me and my friend's favorite country we found on the globe
“I might need to see Djibouti.”
Imagine another country tries to invade Djibouti
200 million for all those bases doesn’t sound a lot tho
Exactly. Seems like a real bargain for the US and all those wealthy nations. I’d be charging them at a minimum, $1 million per hectare of land, and even more money for land closer to the coastline. And te newly sign deal the US signed $60 mill/year for 30 year? What are the big booty negotiators smoking giving a 30 year contract when inflation just keeps rising. 🤦♂️
But the effects on local population cannot be ignored, non of the personnel at those bases will just never step out, so the local economy gains are being wildly underrepresented
@@darthjarjar5309 all the western powers forced their way through
@@z0phi3lI mean they buy everything from the bases and the soldiers commit crimes and promote prostitution as the average citizen is pretty poor. The local nation government isn't democratic so they don't care about what the people want.
Beggars can't be choosers...
That's the new Casablanca.
"Here's Looking At You, Kid "
They all want some of Djibooty
How come one nation has welcomed so many military bases while other nations thoroughly dislike them?
The dictator loves the money he gets from them and they protect his reign if the civilians ever rise up against him
Because Djibouti isn't a democracy. The people probably don't like the assaults or rapes but the government like the money.
Their neighbors are constantly at war with each other. All these bases ensure that they won’t get invaded
obviously, their politicians enjoys the pocket money they receive from them
by doing so, you become literally immune to foreign invasions
2:05 that is the kenyan president
3:57 thats somaliland tho, a breakaway state of somalia, not the whole country of somalia
Landing on the moon vs base in djibouti
We are the moon 😂😂😂 welcome 😂 to Djibouti
I’m actually from Spain, Grenada but lived here in southern cali since I was like 5 I didn’t even know spain was such a big geopolitical role tf😂😂
Modern Peking?
Maybe a 55 days at djibout sequel can happen.
twas called the 'bouti insurrection
So.. whenever WW3 breaks out will they just have a chill moment or would they try to attack the Chinese base and the potential Russian base? As it's just too small to even bother with IMO
"One of the most strategic locations on the planet" What does this mean?
Do you mean strategically valuable, or useful, or contested, or widely important?
Yes, all 3
It means that Djibouti is very important.
Everybody wants a piece of *Djibouti* ....sorry had to do that
These Nations are doing Miniscule amount of trolling

At 3:55 you show the country Somaliland wich is not internationally recognized. The country Somalia has the full horn.

Because it looks good and everyone wants a piece of that cake ahahahah😂
I was deployed to the US Military Base there in 2021 and am going back this November (2024). I guess you could say that I can’t stay out of Djibouti😁
AYO OBF WHAT YOU MEAN BY THAT 🤨

Why? Protection. From whom?. well son grab a chair.
Wow
Everyone want to get into that Djibouti 😂
But if a major conflict were to break out between these countries they're going to be fucked.
Within 2 days!
Djibouti doesn’t even belong to the nationals anymore lol.
Imagine if they annexed some of Eastern Eritrea for themselves 😆
It didn't from the beginning. The first president and his nephew who's second and current president have been taking more and more power from the people to themselves and these bases are there to keep him safe from the people
To correct you Djibouti isn't fully stable it is led by a dictator who is of Somali Ethnicty and his regime marginalizes the afari ethnic ppl in Djibouti who are 30%+ and they are in insurgency but until now the regime lasted because France supports it against all opposing movements be it political or insurgents.
Hey they said stable, not democratic.
@@AL-lh2ht Yea it’s not stable their is an insurgency especially near borders with Ethiopia and Eritrea (Afar) rebels are till this day in a decade long insurgency

Djibouti Is a Small county
But Everyone still want a piece of Djibouti
Why is Somalia only highlighted as Somaliland? And they're unstable???? I thought Somaliland is just the "good part" of the Horn of Africa compares to Somalia itself
Shake shake Djibouti
What if the horn of Africa was turned into a NO-MAN LANDS ZONE for every country to excersise their military might, and Djibouti was the starting point.
That will never happen. Had a been west africa yes that would probably work. But this is the horn we’re talking about. Them ppl don’t like to be ruled by outsiders. They didn’t resist colonisation for nothing. They would rather die than let that happen. Don’t be fuel by their current conflicts amongst each other. All it takes is for an outside power to attack them for them to suddenly unite.
by somalia... you mean somaliland ? this area of somalia is named somaliland

Djibouti is getting played. They should be making 2 Billion minimum from the rent. And make every country build one mega project each.
Djbouti is led by a dictator regime of ethnic somali which marginalizes Ethnic Afars who are now leading insurgency plus Djibouti is a tiny nation neighboring a large landlocked one which wants access to sea by annexation of ports
So those bases are mostly seen As protectors against internal and External threats than only economic reasons
😂why is he not mentioning Djibouti is somali french country

Yourboot-
This sounds like it should be good for Djibouti, but i rather doubt that it really is. Where is all that foreign money going when it arrives? Is it being used to develop infrastructure, the economy, health, nutrition? Or, is it simply corrupting the government.
Trick question: What's the capitol of Djibouti???
..... Djibouti!!!!!!

When did globalism start? Let's get some thoughts!
One day these colonial borders will be erased and that tiny french historic remnant will be devided to Anfar and Somali nations.
Listening Djibouti Beling Ethiopia People Battle Adwa Is Somalis Issas Eritrea Belong Djibouti Back To History
U.S, France, Italy and Japan gave Djibouti money and got military bases, China was the only country willing to invest in the country and build it grounds up, this is why many African countries are drifting towards China and abandoning the west
most of African countries have corrupt government do you think they will befriend someone if they haven't receive money? there's also corruption involve (mostly) if a Chinese construction company won a contract overseas.
@OlantuAhmed if depends if they have threats and they have weak military then they'll need a foreign help.
@OlantuAhmed that depends on the governments economic reform
@OlantuAhmed if the government help domestic startup companies that could potentially become giant companies then they will have a huge chance of having economic miracle just like former thirdworld countries like Taiwan, S.Korea, Singapore etc.
@OlantuAhmed as long as the government don't violet human rights or fund any terrorist group they won't have problem trading with EU.
You lost all credibility, that’s not even the map of Somalia 😂 Google the map moran Somalia is the entire coast
