This was a film made before it's time. The Flash would love this to watch.

That 9.7 score Mike gives himself, followed by the other judges attacking him, will never stop making me laugh out loud.

I remember seeing this clip on the Wonderful World of Disney in 79. I eventually rented the video of the whole film on VCR 10-15 years later. It was pretty cool. I remember the 13 year old kid in me being disappointed that it was not just an hour and a half of the wizard zipping around the country, even though there is no way that would have not gotten old after the first 10-20 minutes.

I saw this as a kid as well. I thought it was featured on "real People" at the time, or maybe another network show. I was amazed then and now at the amount of and quality of work that they did with this. lots of subtilties in the backgrounds and very detailed and well directed.

If they did a homage to this (in some Flash movie/tv) I would die with a smile.
While I thought they way they did Quicksilver in the movies was cool ..Mike's take on the speedster is just fantastic (especially given the time period and technology involved).

From what I heard, Mike offered to do the effects for the then-upcoming 1990 _The Flash_ TV series starring John Wesley Shipp (who later played Barry’s dad and Jay Garrick [Flash of Earth-two] on the The CW series, as well as playing his original older Barry Allen character from that first series during the _Elseworlds_ and _Crisis on Infinite Earths_ crossovers), but they turned him down.
If this is true, the showrunners were idiots. The cost of the effects for that series was a big reason why it was canceled so soon despite respectable ratings. Their effects weren’t close to as good as Jittlov could’ve done for a _lot_ less.

There's actually an episode of the Justice League animated series where flash is the Last Man standing against Lex Luthor / Brainiac. He taps into the speed force to such a great degree that he races around the world in seconds to build up momentum when beating up Luthor/Brainiac. Some of the visuals in that sequence are very reminiscent of what you see in this video!

This film was like others that didn't get the chance it was intended to get when it was first released many years ago.
I went to see this at the Odeon film Pitcure House in Glasgow City Centre the date it first was shown.
The Wizard Of Speed and Time says and tells the Tytle of the film.
To me this film was very well made put together scene by very careful timing scene after the other.
It has it all everything that does put one very good brilliant classic master piece together as intended.
Its got it all to keep it in where it belongs with all of the many other Rejected Underrated films.
The film is full of fantastic fabulous great brilliant computer cgi special effects graffics thats impossible not to miss when watching it.
It goes way far to fast with the Wizard going like the speed Of The Flash Barry Allen or beyond fast.
You just couldn't get bored watching this whole uncut film.
There is the amazing speed and theres also those very nice hot gorgeous beautiful good looking Woman through it.
That soundtrack is way beyond super standard brilliance amazing classic.
The Wizard of Speed and Time real true family entertainment that others refused to believe it wouldnt lead to anything of success.
When this was out at the cinema myself back then saw a real true classic as those many others who also saw it.
The Wizard Of Speed and Time.
Hay i wonder if the Wizard and the Flash are related by fast super speed.
Now you see them and now you dont .
Both gone in a flash and both done for flashing and speeding. 😅😂😊.
This film will always without fail or doubt guaranteed stay a classic as it was intended.
The amount of very long and hard working hours put into making it the film it was intended to become.
This is real true classic family entertainment.

Not the "original", this is the second, spiffed-up version of Mike's demo reel. The first is less fancy, came out in 1977 I think.

I keep telling everyone that this is better than the effects we got in The Flash movie.
Fun tidbit. There is a secret message in this video at the end when all the different images are flashing quickly. Same with when he rolls down the rainbow at the very end. The glowing image that is him is actually letters changing to spell out something.
