The car windows may need to be calibrated if the window is going down when closing the door. The window does usually go up to tuck into the T top to create a better deal and so the glass does not shatter.
I’ve been watching PM & Adam for a long time now and what all keeps me viewing is how close of friends they seem to be. Both just get on so well, always a pleasure to watch. Keep up the content guys, love the car Michael
PM has to be the most down to earth, relaxed and genuinely nice multi millionaire you could ever meet. The chemistry between the two is on point too. I love the way Porsche keep everything understated but so high end at the same time. A beautiful car PM
Love it.....classic sports car that can easily be a daily driver. Whether flying down the motorway or going to the shops, Porsche has it all. Great choice.
Wow, finally a car I dream of. Great job, Michael. I hope it brings you joy. And as a child and teenager, I sat in the back seat of my mother's 911's plenty of times. I never had the permission to drive my parents Porches' growing up, maybe someday I will have my own. Thanks for sharing.
Aside from the nice Porsche Content ( please don´t modify it too much ! ), i wanna say that after watching you guys for several years, I am really pleased that you still work with Adam. I think that needs to be acknowledged. "Staff" changes so much these days from what i see on other channels. But it seems like you two are also friends and not only a cameraman who works for a millionaire producer.
Seems like a complicated solution, one that will surely break and be costly to fix in the future. Why didn't Porsche simply design the door to secure the glass inside?
Not sure if this is a genuine or rhetorical question, but my guess would be; To secure the glass in the inside of the door, they would either need to add rubber "bumpers" to keep the glass in place when you slam the door - which could potentially leave streaking on the windows as you put them up/down. Alternatively they could add an additional mechanism which would secure the glass, but only when the door handle is pulled - but this would be an over-engineered solution, and likely to wear / break / fail over time. The current solution uses the already-existing window motor, which is a (relatively) inexpensive part to replace - seems like a very elegant solution @@davidhunternyc1
The motion is referred to as indexing. It allows the glass to plant itself firmly into the rubber seal while still being able to quickly detect an attempted opening of the door and pull it back down so as not to tear the seal
Just picked up a 2023 Targa 4S in gentian blue with chalk interior. Blue trimmed wheels to match the car color. Incredible ❤️❤️👍 love the black with red interior in that Targa is amazing ♥️👍 the older 911 spoiler went up at 75mph
Yes the window goes up so that when you close the car it seals properly and no need to slam the door due to the cabin pressure. The roof is made of magnesium to keep the weight down. I was at the dealer picking mine up after a service and someone else was there having to replace the back window do to vandalism….cost the insurance company $15k just for the glass no labour.
Wrapping the targa hoop in black is 100% AWESOME! That's a great spec. For those of us that really do know the spec, it's amusing that Michael doesn't, but that's OK. 🙂 Keep up the good work, fellas.
I went down the rabbit hole of the opening window and I was reminded of how many people just make stuff up that they like the sound of. The most plausible sounding explanation is that it stops rattling.
Beautiful targa, Michael! Congratulations! Side note, there's an awful amount of swirls on the paint for a new car. Get someone to do some good paint correction and then protect it with film.
Porsche gloss black is super super soft. They come off the truck swirled and spotted up. Especially with all the protective stickers and wrapping. Definitely agree that is a must on black Porsches
Sport chrono doesn't add power, just allows an extra (abusive) 1000 rpm or so during launch control (which Michael will never use) so a couple of tenths quicker!
On the boxster the launch control is only available with sports chrono. Otherwise it holds the revs higher in auto mode, has dynamic transmission mounts and kicks the gears in harder and faster. That's for the pdk, not essential, but great fun in sports plus using the paddle shifts
Great looking car the Targa. Worth saying though, the chrono pack doesn’t increase engine horse power output, it merely enhances engine responsiveness when the various sport modes are selected.
Awesome Video! I would just love to see a video of michals entire car collection and formers cars aswell maybe. would be a nice video with all the history behind it.
That little metal piece along where the top latches is actually a wind deflector and should be up to prevent buffeting! It make a big difference. Occasionally they get stuck when the roof is closed for a long time but it should pop automatically
Ignition is on the left because the Le Mans race started on foot. So racers would run to their cars, foot on the brake - left hand with keys in the ignition and right hand on the shifter. Saved them nanoseconds!
In 1934 when Peugeot introduced the 601 Eclipse model. A true innovation was finally introduced, as this beauty featured the first reliable retractable hardtop roof. This concept would be expanded upon in 1939 by Plymouth, who created the first motor controlled tops.
Beautiful, I am picking up my 992.2 convertible next week. Jet black metallic, bordeaux interior and bordeaux top so similar to the one shown in this video. Love it
the ignition is on the left side because it saved about 1 second to start the engine in the days when Porsche attended in the 24h of Le Mans. The guys had to sprint to their cars, jump in, ignition the engine and start.
the point is to start the engine with one hand, and put the car in gear with the other, on the right-hand-drive cars, the ignition key is on the right side
Good to see you driving it! Nice car, great spec. I just got a white Macan S with red leather interior. I've had a few over the years and they are so much fun to drive. Smiles per gallon. Grats on the Targa!
Love these guys! It’s so cool and amazing to see them both happy and have fun! The bond is beautiful and the best part is something they both love to do and making money doing it! If you are ever thinking of getting a different 911, a great video would be you picking a paint to sample color along with a truely unique interior color off the Porsche configurator, it would be a 1 of a kind and the only spec in the world, right up your alley! Keep the great videos coming, truely enjoy them!
I love ya but you two are clueless when it comes to cars. You were behind the curve on aftermarket mods to watches and you're behind the curve on cars. Michael, you literally said you binned off the Merc because it was too firm and now you're talking about lowering it and putting rims on, which will make it firmer and handle worse. Porsche spent thousands of hours and millions of euros fine tuning that chassis and you two think what you're gonna do is an upgrade 😂😂 If the gap between the tyre and the wheel arch is the same distance all round then it's perfect, you need suspension travel for the comfort mode.
1st, PUTTING rims ON the CAR will ONLY firm up the RIDE if the SIZE of the RIMS are DIFFERENT or the QUALITY of the RIMS are LACKING. 2nd, LOWERING this PARTICULAR Porsche by JUST an INCH will of COURSE firm UP the RIDE, BUT it STILL will NOT be as FIRM as the PARTICULAR AMG he OWNS. That AMG will STILL be the STIFFER ride by FAR. When they SAID the CAR will be BETTER lowered THEY were CLEARLY talking ABOUT the LOOK of the car's STANCE and NOT the TECHNICALITIES of the CAR. I love watch this channel and especial Michael quirky style but I can say this is the first time you have smash it out of the park for just the right amount of mods for the perfect classy 911 targa and 35mm drop and a set of Brixtons cant wait to see

The window goes up so it presses against the window gasket, so it doesn't rattle when you close it.
Thank you for that.
