    Best Times to Go
    If you're looking for the hottest and the busiest, then July and August are definitely for you. For less crowded times, I recommend May or June, or September and even October, which is still pretty hot, averaging mid to high 20s and even low 30s.
    Best Areas to Stay
    Kos Town: Where everything comes together.
    Lambi Beach is about half a mile away.
    Tigaki: Best for families with calm shallow waters, and kid-friendly activities.
    Marmari: Quiet and a 20-minute drive from Tigaki.
    Mastichiari and Psalidi: For surfing and water sports.
    Kefelos: For budget-conscious travellers.
    Kardamina: Known for its nightlife and one of the best beaches.
    Ayos Fokas, Asfendio and Lagoudi Zia: For a relaxing time.

    Best Things to Do
    Walk around the Kos harbour, visit beaches, and explore archaeological sites like the ancient Agora and the Tree of Hippocrates.
    Excursions and Boat Trips: Popular trips include the Three Island day cruise (Pserimos, Kalimnos, and Plati) and a trip to the island of Nisiros.
    Food and Drink Experiences- Wine tastings, dinner experiences, cooking classes, olive oil and honey tasting.
    Historical and Archaeological Tours: Visit the Asclepion and the Nerantzia Castle.
    Adventurous Activities: Horse riding on the beach, beginner scuba diving, jeep safaris, and hiking trails.

    Great video. Lots of information. And great links. Super helpful. Thank you.
    Would be good to add a map to your video while you speak of beaches and stuff. I’ve never been to Kos before, so had to keep pausing your video to google maps the areas you were talking about.

      Sarah, thank you so much for you lovely comment. It's interesting what you say about providing a map when talking about beaches etc, as I'm thinking of doing this with the next beginner's guide... Rhodes. I wasn't really sure at first, but it's great that someone else has thought of it. Thank you again 😀👍😎

    How come you missed to mention Mastichari (the beach), we have been going there for 25 years and the village and beach are wonderful.

      Earlier on in the video I do mention the area. The problem is that there's at least 21 great beaches, and if I was to mention them all, the video would just take to long. So, I had to make a decision.

    Thank you for a very informative film. I am going to Kardemena tomorrow for ten days with my 13 year old daughter. Are there water sports there for her? Any restaurant recommendations? What is cost of beer, for dad?

      Thanks for your comment Tony. Yes, there are two watersports places there which will have everything she needs. As for places to eat there are absolutely loads. Obviously it depends on what you both like so I can't really give you specifics. But some advice is: eat where locals are eating, if they try to coax you in just forget it, make sure they take cards as well as cash. Please don't worry with that, it's what I always use whenever I'm im Greece. You are going to love Kardamena, so both of you have a great time. 👍😀

    Can you do a video on how buses work? For example, can I get on the bus from kefalos to Kos town but get off at one of the towns inbetween?

    • @GoExploreGreece
      @GoExploreGreece  17 днів тому

      That's not a bad idea at all. I'll have to have a think on how to do that and then see how it could be filmed and then presented. Thanks for that.

      @@GoExploreGreece you're welcome, I'm going on the 30th July and I've never been to Greece before. I'm nervous but so excited. Getting public transport in different countries can be difficult and sometimes scary

      Wherever it is you're going, I'm sure you're really going to enjoy it. Getting public transport in any country can be a little scary, but it can also be fun. Have a wonderful time 😀👍

    Great video, We are thinking of going to Kardamena in September, As my wife suffers with Trigeminal Neuralgia I was hoping if you could tell me if it gets very windy on Kos which would be no good at all for her or is it a really calm wind free island.

    • @GoExploreGreece
      @GoExploreGreece  8 днів тому +2

      Hi Mark, and thanks for the comment. As Kos is an island and with Kardamena being on the coast, it would certainly have wind. But, as to how much would not be suitable for your wife I have absolutely no idea. This coupled with the fact I'm not a medical practitioner, I can't really say or give advice. Sory I can't be of any help.

      Thanks very much for replying I was more interested into the fact as to whether Kos gets very windy or is Kos a very calm island

    • @GoExploreGreece
      @GoExploreGreece  7 днів тому +2

      Hi Mark. To be he honest I think "windy" is a subjective term 👍 But, it's not as windy as Rhodes or the north coast of Crete. However, I do understand this really doesn't answer your question. After looking on the internet, I've found a few sites which go into a lot of detail of daily/weekly/monthly etc wind measurements on the island which would give you a historic picture over the years. Give them a go and hopefully this will help a lot more than I can with my vague answers. 👍
