6:46 Byakuya with Zanpakuto handle is him using shikai. It's when Ichigo arrives at Sokyoku and unleashes he's shikai at Ichigo (not knowing that Ichigo achieved bankai) and then Ichigo uses getsuga tenshou. When he's using he's hands to direct senbon zakura is when it's bankai.
