I'm a metal fabricator of over 45 years. I am very impressed of your craftsmanship and ingenuity on your projects. I would suggest that you get yourself a metal cutting chop saw, or even a cheap metal cuttting band saw. You would save so much time. Very inexpensive for the time you would save. My wife and I love your videos and don't miss an upload. Thank you.

I have been a metal worker for over 25 years and that square tubing you put down for the frame is definitely going to be strong enough for a 10 x 10 building. Good luck on your future building projects.

You don't need a backhoe, you need a skid steer/ bobcat w attachments. It's small, rugged, and multipurpose. Dig, mow, lift, drill etc. Plus it won't take up too much space. Looking forward to seeing your addition completed!

100 square feet is pretty small for pottery, play space and workout room. As a potter by the time I throw, have my wheel space, my slab rolling space, have a space for drying, storing clay, storing tools, storing glaze materials, storing made glazes, wash up station, place to recycle "flopped" clay, wedging table...... I could use 150 square feet just for pottery.

I have a barn studio that is primarily for pottery/sculpting/slip casting. It's 400 sq ft, and all of my equipment easily takes up about 300 sq ft of that space.
I do recommend having your kiln(s) outdoors under a sheltered area, as off-gassing is toxic, and since that area is only 100 sq ft, you really won't have the space in there for establishing a separate well-ventilated kiln room. Plus, turn-around time on bisque firing and glaze firing would prevent you from spending any time in there on your firing days.
I will say that I am very excited for y'all, and I am looking forward to what comes next!

Just attach 2 bedrooms to the existing structure. Sadie is going to know how to build a house by the time she's a teenager. If it even takes that long.😂

This welded framing of you house reminds me of the last house my dad built outside of Bend, Oregon back in the 1970's. He was a welder by trade and first dug down to the lava bedrock, cemented steel pillars to the rock, then went up from there. It was a tiny house (before that was popular) and when I sold it after he died, one of the selling points was how solid the base was for the buyer to add on to.
