I once had a look to my grandfaters when i was a child.
Even tho it's sharp, the edge of the dagger have some small teeth like a serrated points here and there. Not like any other sharp edges of knifes or swords with their smooth curve I've ever seen. My family said if the kris stabbed into someone's abdomen, it will also pull out their intestines.
The story (or myth if you prefer) of my grandfather's Kris, once upon a time my ancestor and his friend got lost in the jungle after being chased by enemies, and met a couple of old couple living there. And tell them that they're on the run. The old couple gave them food and water. When the night come, the old couple told my ancestor and his friend to stay the night in their hut because its difficult to get out of the jungle at night and dangerous too. In the middle of the night my ancestor and his friend awoken because of what look like a sound of tigers outside the hut in pitch darkness. When morning came, the old couple give my ancestor the Kris and told them that they will accompany them to get out of the jungle with weird instruction. That they shall not look back while the old couple guide their way from behind. Because of what happened last night and the creepy way they're told. My ancestor and his friend start walking. In between my ancestor's friend cannot hold his urge of curiosity stopped and look back, and that's the last he saw him because the old couple gave order to keep walking. When my ancestor got out of the jungle he turn and look back for what's behind him. There he saw 2 huge tigers with their glowing eyes under the jungle shade. This story passed down in our family for generations.
