    I live at the place (Ardgeal) you passed at 4:07 This area is my playground lol! I've done over to Trinafour the way you went in 2022 on a conventional MTB bikepacking rig and I pushed most of the same bit at Loch an Duin, last year did a loop the other way via Dalwhinnie off road on my KTM E-MTB with just my "day spares" and a second battery and it was a lot of fun riding nearly all of it.....!! Pretty spoiled living here, take it for granted and moan about the lack of conveniences urbanites take for granted, but good seeing it on film! Haven't yet done the loop, maybe in a week or two when the midges have gone but a fine balance of no insects vs limited light... Would rather do it on conventional as a busted E-MTB in the middle of nowhere with bikepacking kit could be scary and exhausting!!!

    Interesting to see this, did this route 40 years ago before mountain bikes were a thing. The singletrack section was a lot narrower then, and the river crossing at the north end of Loch an Duin seems different too. You didn't mention that the Gaick Lodge was re-built in a new location in the 1890s, as a massive avalanche wiped out the original, and killed most of the inhabitants inside. You are brave taking heavy e-bikes on a route like that, if you have a bad mechanical a real problem to get them out to a road. And one locked deer gate and big hassle. The drone is interesting, will take a look. Looking forward to part two. btw, I don't think I have ever seen midges as bad as that in the Perthshire Highlands, you were very unlucky.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  2 місяці тому +2

      I didnt know about the Gaick lodge history. I can imagine the route has changed a little bit in that time
      as for heavy e-bike,sure it would of been a issue if we had a major break down but at least it all walkable and track for the most part or it.
