Dear Jonny, watching you evolve as a skater year after year, challenging yourself into ever new tricks, is a true pleasure and an inspiration. Ciao from Italy! :)
It's not just the skateboarding that is so impressive to me, but the fact that Jonny is such a talented and creative filmmaker. Every shot is flawless, nothing quite compliments the technicality of Jonny's skating like pan shots to the swiss alps, aside from being a great skate video, it's an epic short film in it's own right when it comes to filming and editing technique. Bravo.
I'm not even a skater and this video has vibes of a man solidifying his status as a legend of a sport. You make this insane stuff look so damn easy. Must've taken forever to learn this huge variety of moves.
Top notch production and a level of skateboarding beyond beliefs! Jonny improved his skill level tremendously over the last years! Big UP and a really fat daankäääääää to him!
The style of skateboarding you see people do on UA-cam channels is definitely different than what people would expect to see from "pros". But it shouldn't be thought of as a derogatory thing. It's extremely technical instead of extremely death defying. I find it more enjoyable as it's more of an advanced form of the type of skating I do, so I relate to it more. I of course can't do half the tricks Giger can but they are more in line with what I can do. I do flat ground tricks, tricks on banks, tricks on small legs, small rails, tiny stair sets, small transition, and mostly at skateparks. So while it's definitely cool to watch Nyjah send it down a 30 stair rail or someone skating 14 ft vert ramps or mega ramps, I will watch way more of Jonny's type of content. Plus he's always doing something weird, which I like, and he's great to listen to.
Agree completely. I find this closely focused technical stuff far more engaging. It manages to somehow be relatable, as you said, yet still be absolutely mindblowing.
