The rush defense is working against this current All Black set up right now...they have to restrategize or risk the RWC campaign. Great reaction bro...and yes France has always been a historical rival of NZ in the 15-a-side game.
New zealands answer to it is what's wrong. They are the most skilled side in the world and yet they seem to prefer to kick the ball over the defence rather than work their way through or around it. Only problem is that Northern defences have been dealing with that style for the best part of 20 years, so much so that we've adapted to a more running style of attack so we don't kick possession away. So people want the crusaders head coach to take over the AB head coaching role but his style is to kick the ball away as well and to attack in the counter when the opposition make unforced errors. Northern teams just aren't making those errors as often now, you can even see that with how few times we're knocking the ball on now when taking the high ball from South africa. Their whole attacking plan is to make you miss a catch essentially.
Can I be honest. The French were better prepared, They out smarted them. This was a game plan built for the All Blacks. They Learnt from South Africa a bit but instead of kicking to exploit their defense that tries to cover the whole field they just spread their attack to give lots of options and potential attacking points, beautiful to watch how they chose to dismantle them, really smart. They deserved the W
Nah that game plan was french rugby, any other team can do frances gameplan and lose vs AB's.. when Galthiè was questioned about Ireland's victory over AB's, he said he's not gona replicate anything from Ireland's gameplan, cause that's Irish rugby and france have their own style (free flowing french flair)
Hi new subscriber here. All Blacks fan. Just found your channel enjoying the rugby content. France were far too good on this day. Looking forward for a rematch.
19:20 quinn tupaea did not have a 'clear' release after he made the tackle, before getting into the jackal position , hence the penalty was given to France.
Teams have noticed that a rush defence counters AB's flair play. Eng did it in the WC then the springboks in the last game this year, now it's happened to them twice up North bro.
It's been happening for a while now even before the world cup when Ireland beat the abs twice, sa beat the abs in wellington and England would have beat them as well if it weren't for a controversial call at the end of the game. Oh and also last year when the pumas beat them.
A rush defence counters pretty much everyone honestly. The main problem is that it is a gamble but it works really well bc every rugby player becomes a mad man when playing the ABs
I'm more impressed with the part France was the only team that played ABs at their own game, free flowing rugby , running and kicking and mauls, everything.. Boks, Ireland, England.. never let their backline run freely against the AB's.. only team crazy enough to do a running gaming against ABs that's not france is Australia.. but they always fail with execution (basic errors) why they always lose
Exactly Wikus, we have to be careful, do not sel the skin of an animal before to kill it, this is a typical french error. And this beautiful match was just a tourné not a world cup confrontation. But l hope the best for us, rugby is so important back to France
It's cool your getting into rugby mate. The allblacks changed there attack point, and took it through the forwards. There's a saying in rugby. It's called earning the right to go wide. Nz weren't comiting forwards due to passing it wide every time. They were right to take it through the forwards, but it was too late. ABs looked tired, and we were definitely out played. Nz are normally the innovators, but we seem to be playing the same as last world cup, and teams have worked us out. Apart from instances of individual brilliance. Nz are not bringing something new to the table. More than 50% of the country wanted Scott Robinson as the coach, but nz rugby allowed assistant coach Foster to take over. Maybe his plan is to get depth in players, and its all about the world cup? I for one like most nz'ders expect nz to win, or if we lose its by a couple of points. That was a record win for France, and it was hard to watch. The world cup is still 2 years off, and we often have world class players that come from nowhere. Hopefully this us the case. Rugby is religion in my family, and although nz still finish the year with 12 wins 3 losses. Considering 3 of those games were against lower level team, and Wales had half there starters out due to injury. This is a bad season, and our worst since 2009.
