    Ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, vitamin therapy(high dose), exercise, meditation, sauna sessions and lots of sunlight will do a benzo'd body good

    Currently I'm on 2.5 of Diazepam daily, I was on 3mg of Clonazepam and 40mg of Diazepam per day last year, tappering slowly has been the best option and I can't wait to be benzo free. I'm glad you are doing great!

    i had to find a new psychiatrist and they switched me over to klonopin for a week. i found out pretty quickly that i dont tolerate klonopin well at all so i switched back to valium. this morning i had the genuis idea of dry cutting a random amount from my morning dose right after switching back so i wouldnt feel so groggy and i went and exercised harder than i have in like 3 years. right now im in the pitts and i hope with a little time this will get better and ill re stabilize. i stabilized pretty quick after going cold turkey from ativan to valium so hopefully ill compensate for this change too. but im very grateful for my new doctor, they recognize how dangerous and addictive benzos are and they offer alot of nutritional stuff and theyve walked me through the idea of waiting for when the time is ripe for me to start weaning slowly and to be sure and include them so i dont have to do it on my own. so at the moment im in some hellish anxiety but trying real hard to have hope for the future. its not easy right now.

      RyanBednarzPiano I'm almost 2 years off of a bad benzo addiction and have almost recovered 100 percent and have my life back. The best advice I can give you is let go of fear and just take your time. You can control your mind much more than you would think. Don't watch too many videos and read too much about it because you can easily drive yourself into a much deaper place then you otherwise would go during withdrawal. Anxiety is fear and you can feed it by worrying constantly and it can consume you. Not that it's all in your head but some of it can be. Good luck..

    • @narimanoliaji9624
      @narimanoliaji9624 7 років тому

      Snide 2 hi I came across your comment and need a little advise. I have been on klonopin for 2 months including my taper. I am on 0.125mg so far the only withdrawals I have had is seeing floaters but the fear of having other withdrawals has totally consumed me that's all I think of all day. I really don't know what to do.

    • @Snide01
      @Snide01 7 років тому +1

      Nariman Oliaji
      That is the biggest problem with coming off of anti anxiety meds. It is the most difficult thing I've done in my life but also the most rewarding. We are emotional beings and anxiety is simply extreme fear and it feeds on itself. Benzos suppress ALL of our emotions, not just fear which is why I wanted off so bad.
      What you have to do is ignore the physical symptoms because there are a lot of them and if you start reading about them you will have them all because you will be expecting them and over analyzing everything about yourself. The biggest trick is to go VERY slow while tapering off and to just accept how you feel and whatever comes a long with it. As you get lower and lower on your med you also need to go slower and slower meaning weeks or months between cutting down lower. You can break your pills down and mix them with water which is called liquid titration and then drop down like 5% every week or two but follow your own body and mind, it will tell you how fast you can go but the worst mistake you can make is to go too fast or get annoyed with tapering down and just stop abruptly like I did. When you get down to the final 25% of your dose then start dropping by just a percent or two each week or more, slow and steady wins the race and I can't stress it enough.
      If you go very slow like I said you can avoid the biggest part of withdrawal and recovery if not almost all of it and it won't be so drawn out, I wish I would've realized how important this was. But you got this, I promise... See you on the other side !!!

    • @narimanoliaji9624
      @narimanoliaji9624 7 років тому

      Snide 2 to be honest with you the only withdrawals I have had so far is seeing floaters (black dots) today is my first day at 0.0625mg. Can U tell me if I can get off it completely after staying on this dose for a while or I should still taper. I have been on klonopin for 2 months including my taper.

    • @Snide01
      @Snide01 7 років тому

      Nariman Oliaji
      This is where I don't want to scare you but there has been many people who were only on them two weeks and suffered for over a year because of stopping too fast. Everybody is different genetically but I would just go very slow to be safe and just kinda feel it out, these meds are very dangerous but it can be done if you simply take your time. Rushing off is a big mistake..

    I ct'd off both klonopin and xanax approx 5-6 mgs a day. I was taking them for 6 years. The last year and a half I was up to 6mgs a day.
    I'll be at 9 months tomorrow 👍
    When I was at about 4.5 months from my ct I realized I was obsessing over all my withdrawal symptoms and I had to try and stop focusing on them bc it seemed to make them much, much worse.
    I really wanted to focus on something else so June 5th I decided to start eating clean and do some light exercise. I actually stopped eating bread, potatoes, rice, and pasta. I started eating just grilled chicken, egg whites, fresh veggies and drink lots of water!
    I saw a big difference since I cut out carbs. My symptoms subsided drastically and I actually was able to get on my treadmill for 30-40 mins every morning for 4-5 days a week. I watched your video about a month after I cut out my carbs and I AGREE that our diet affects our withdrawal. I honestly don't think I would have seen an improvement if I didn't start eating better. Yes I still have withdrawals like some brain fog, vision, broken sleep and some digestive problems. The stomach issues did get a lot better since I'm doing high protein. The constipation, heartburn and bloatness has got so much better.
    I really hope that people going through benzo withdrawal will try changing their diets bc it does help so much!!
    Thank you for your advice Jocelyn.
    I'm happy you're doing well 😊

    Been on 10mg of val for 30 some years. Still wondering
    when I will start my taper? But what I wanted to share with; is that for the
    last 2 years I have been fooling around with fasting (2 to 3 days) and then
    starting on a protein and no sugar diet. I have done this four times. The first
    time I felt like a million dollars for weeks. (I have read that sugar is bad a
    million times, But?) And the proceeding times have done real well until I
    return to sugar. You are really the first person that has said anything about
    fasting and protein. I have a huge problem with sugar and once I get on the
    train it gets bad as I pour on the sugar even more. Thanks for your video’s.

    Question: I’ve been off Klonopin for 14 months and I’ve started to have really good days lately with almost no symptoms if I get restorative sleep , if I don’t get restorative sleep I basically just stay home and deal with it. I’ve been going out eating at restaurants , shopping and socializing with close friends and family and it has been pretty good with very few symptoms. However last night I went and socialized with some friends and had to socialize with people I don’t know and had never met and I was in and out of extreme nervousness , feeling like I wanted to jump out of my skin feeling, etc... it would come and go. I feel deflated afterwards because I had had a really good day up until the socializing with people I don’t know that evening , is that normal for my first time socializing ?

    Another great video Jocelyne! I'm 4 months completely benzo free. Was starting to feel a little better but it seems like I've gone back into the pits of hell!! About a week after I stopped benzos I developed some short lived headaches but they went away for 3 and a half months, now I've been getting headaches and teeth pain every day for 2 weeks. Feels like I have a brain tumor! It's so weird because I feel almost the same now as when I first got off benzos. Can this be possible for these symptoms to come back from benzos after being gone for so long or is this unrelated? My doctor wants to do an MRI.

    I have tried 3 previous times to taper off klonopin and never could jump off. My last attempt was a year ago. I didn't have support and I didn't know about the Ashton Manual and Liquid Titration. Some people have said I might have a harder time getting off because I could have been "kindled" and my central nervous system might be desensitized. I am worried I won't be able to recover even with a slow taper. Have you heard of people in my circumstances successfully getting off?

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  7 років тому +1

      Buzzer Teeth yes I kindled at least twice. as long as you taper correctly you can do it. it's not easy but kindling doesn't mean. your situation will be worse than anyone else's. eat healthy, taper slowly and you'll be successful

      Hi Buzzer Teeth - I was on Klonopin for over 30 years! The first 15 @ 4mg / day and the second 15 @ 3mg / day. Today is 12 weeks off after a year long taper. It's not easy, but possible. I'm sound, light and touch sensitive. The neuropathy in my extremities drives me crazy, but I'm off klonopin. I take "Charlotte's Web" CBD Oil and capsules to help and it does. As of November 25th I am 10 months off after I cold turkeyed from 5-6 mg's if Xanax and Klonopin. I was on them for 6 years. My withdrawal symptoms have improved quite a bit after I started eating a high protein diet but I'm still having vision and stomach problems. Plus my sleep is broken. I sleep for about 2-3 hours then wake up for an hour then fall back to sleep. I'm wondering if CBD oil will help me?

    Hi! New to your channel. What negative symptoms did the benzos give you when you were on them? I was on 4 mg of Klonopin for 10 years & then I got diagnosed with Parkinson’s. At age 29! I am almost dead certain it’s the Klonopin because PD has everything to do with gaba. All the doctors deny it. But they also admit my symptoms aren’t exactly like PD.. 4 years after being diagnosed, I am currently tapering off Klonopin. Once I get through the initial hell, my “PD” symptoms improve. It’s a cycle. Curious to see how I feel when I’m off completely. Currently on .75 a day. Now I’m also on 3 PD Meds though too. I have a long process ahead of me getting off one at a time. First the Klonopin, then I know I can at least get off one of the other Meds. It stopped helping but I haven’t tried to get off of it yet because I’m focusing on the Klonopin.

    • @jamieswint7275
      @jamieswint7275 7 років тому

      Cycle - Lower Klonopin, go through withdrawals, level out, PD symptoms improve more than last time, need less PD meds, then repeat. Lower Klonopin.. PD symptoms get worse.. and so on. So far every time I tapered and leveled out I needed less PD Meds than the time before. Went from 7 a day to 3.25. (The main PD medicine is as needed). And yet the doctors deny it’s possible.

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  7 років тому +1

      Jamie Swint hi honestly the symptoms would be too long to list. I need to make a video about that. But PD like symptoms are very common. Are you micro tapering and dosing more than once a day? If not that might significantly improve your symptoms. My video on this is called Safely Tapering off Benzodiazepines.

    Hi there J
    I just have to ask you some questions
    1) did you sweat alot in the beginnning? If so for how long and how did you manage among people/family? Clotheschanges?
    Did you have the feeling of almost getting twitches before you got them? How long did they last do ypu still have them?
    Did you ever have a seizure?
    I have been on Xanor 0.5 longlastingtabs since 14 june, started taper already in aug as I knew the danger of the medication. Because of more lifehappenings anxeity rose and I went to take them more regular in september and oktober but cut the tabs in halfs and got ambien for sleep, I saw the possibility in changing the main medsource for the body to easier go away from Xanor, using ambien and try to stop the X and short after also ambien and then Inhave one really not so much mentioned Oxazepam 5 mg tabs
    So I hope I will manage to get off these and conquer the fear I have stopping it. I need to get in a calm environment for at least a month while doing this but it is so hard! But I will try to goa way to a friends house were she do understand and then I have someone to hold when the though gets going!! I am so worried

      TheHumbleMixOfNordicCountries Hannele I would switch between sweats and chills. It's not usually recommended to switch to a less potent, shorter acting benzo or z drug for tapering such as ambien. If you haven't read the Ashton manual yet it's fairly short and will give you an idea of how to cross over all your different meds to one linger acting med foe your taper plan. You can read it at www.benzo.org.uk

      Don't take antidepressants. The withdrawal from AD can kill you the same way as Benzo if not worse. I was on Cymbalta and Klonopin. Zero withdrawal from Klonopin,just regular tapering from 2 mg to 0.5. And I almost lost life frim Cymbalta. I am in pure hell for 2 years in acute withdrawal

    I guess slow slow taper is key... mine was too fast... 😢
    Still miserable at 6.5 months off..
    I remember seeing you dance in your last dose video... I didn’t get that...
    It’s discouraging actually hearing those who tapered properly still deal with some issues... you seem happy and composed... others in FB groups too... I have this roller coaster of despair...
    I will only say is my sleep improved.
    I’ll try the Keto way ...

      Robert Long tapering is a factor but doesn't necessarily determine anything. Tapering was rough and I still have rough days, just not nearly as bad. You'll heal. I healed as I was tapering so that was a year and a half and then I still had to recover after the taper. It's been more than 5 years now for me. Give it time

      Benzo Brains well... my math was wrong with your taper. 5 ! 😣 ...
      I don’t know what to do anymore... I’m lying around remembering when..
      I didn’t heal when tapering ,,, I got so bad. But again it was Xanax ...
      But all I hear is ... we are damaged and need to heal and need nothing but compassion and patience... which I don’t have ... thanks to my ocd and Withdrawal amplifying it.

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  6 років тому +1

      Robert Long I didn't exactly get better when tapering either, I just meant that this was an added year and a half for my body to heal and to keep in perspective that it's taken me a while to get to where I am now. I'm sorry I know we become kind of hard to love during this. A lot of the compassion k needed didn't come until I started to get better and people could see I was really just sick after all

    Thank you very much for this video ! I am French so please excuse my English if it sounds weird ^^ I am currently tapering valium. Alexandra DROUINEAU I was on Ambien with my second baby, but I didn't know any better at the time and stopped right after I delivered him. In fact, that's what led to my severe reaction the second time i took it, when my third baby was a few months old. I'm very glad you have the desire to get off for your future baby. It will be worth it :)

      Benzo Brains I'm 20 months off and I'm between 95 and 100 percent healed and I've drank coffee all the way through. My central nervous system is still sensitive but much less than in the beginning, I think that withdrawal causes anxiety and fear to constantly feed itself and we play right into it during healing and recovery since we are weakened by the shocking experience of withdrawal. Now I'm not saying that it's all in our heads because that's obviously not true, physical symptoms are a result of the breaking down of our central nervous systems but what I am saying is that you don't have to fear every little thing because that type of mentality feeds on itself and then creates more fear.

      Hi !! Just want to say I am so happy I’ve found your videos!! They are absolutely wonderful & so informative. I’ve been taking.05 Ativan for quite a number of years ( approx.12 ) Getting the strength to say enough- no more. I have an 18 yr. old son who I live with. We lost his dad to a heart attack 1 1/2 years ago. I’m trying to be strong for him. Going to my doctor tomorrow to tell her that I want to start to “wean off “ not say withdraw. My son will be there with me. I’ve learned from the videos what not & what to say to the doctor. One thing I’m extra nervous about is depersonalization.. It sounds so scary. Anyway thank you for all you do. Wish me luck!!🙏

    Hey I would greatly appreciate if you responded to this as this is kind of an emergency question. So I was on klonopin for a month and a half total over a 4 months time period. Do you think that in 2 weeks ALL of my withdrawal would be over being on .5 mg? Please and ty. I personally think I need to give it another week and a half according to the klonopin withdrawal chart but I was on such a low dose but I'm a sensitive person and haven't felt even ok at most for the past year. In other words I have no hope and don't know if what I'm experiencing right now is benzo withdrawal or what? Just wanted your personal opinion because Ik you have a lot of knowledge behind this!

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  7 років тому +1

      Ultra Shot I'm not understanding how long you've been off. but everyone is different. I was originally only on my sleeping pill for one week and experience debilitating symptoms for months before reinstating on a benzodiazepine. .5 mg K is equivalent to 10 mg Valium which is actually the largest does they can prescribe. the 0.5 seems deceptively small. if you are very unwell and have only been off a little while, please watch my video called Safely Tapering off benzodiazepines and consider reinstating and doing a slower taper

      Ultra Shot yes it's much more potent than it sounds. if you are like me then no you won't be better in a couple of weeks and you would want to consider reinstating and doing a slower taper. some people improve week by week. I can't tell you if you're one of those people who miraculously heals quickly or not. all I can say is its the safest bet to reinstate and do an Ashton method taper. www.benzo.org.uk
