How to make Tattoos for Secondlife

- Have you ever wanted to make your own tattoos for your secondlife avatar? Here is one of the ways you can go about doing so using all free for use programs. you can use blender, avastar workbench, secondlife templates, and gimp to make your own creations or show off your own designs in world.

Basically you can just browse the gallery for additional ones, they are free to download.

I unfortunately am either missing the ability to place such links on my videos as UA-cam and google are pretty strict about what you can link to from within the video itself or I just have not figured out how to like a page outside of youtube itself. I had planned on adding the links and never got around to it. When I tried to do so today it seems that is not an options available. I will have to look into weather it's permitted or not given the monetized status of my video. Even though all of the inks I provided should be free for use, royalty free products youtube may limit my ability to add those links to the video.
it's part of the agreement, some people might have them on their videos and just should not have them there. As we know it's not a matter of 'well they did it you should be able to' sometimes even something that should not be done just does not get caught and falls through the cracks. If that is the case or not I'm not 100% sure I just know that outside of the links to other video's, or to google+ I can't like them as a clickable without taking down my monitization on all of my videos. So unfortunately the best I can do is offer those links typed out and allow viewers to pursue them or not.
I hope that helps you understand why those links are not on my video as a clickable. If for some reason I have missed something in weather I am allowed to add them or how to add them... it's possible.

Awesome video, much more in depth than your average how to video for this kind of thing. Thank you. One question, from someone who is not a content creator but hopes to learn how, you mentioned logging into the second life beta grid to test the texture before spending your Lindens, how do I do that? Does it have to be through the LL viewer or does Firestorm have access too? Sorry for bombarding you with questions lol.
+gabbi cat you can use Firestorm to log into the beta grid. you may have to enable it if its not on your options at log in. There is a tab that allows you to log into other girds. if you click on it it should have "secondlife beta" it might have other grids as well like in worlds and such. I believe in worlds has free content uploads since they are still fairly new. If it does not have that option you may have to find it in the preferences most likely under the firestorm tab. or you might even have to download a newer version. I have the newest version currently and it does have the option. But since I've always had other grid options active I could not tell you if it requires it to be changed in the settings any more. I do know at one time you did have to enable it.
+C Endamist Thankyou so much again. Ok one last question, if it's simple enough for you to explain here. I've used GIMP a lot but I'm totally new to blender and I can't figure out how to take the image I create in gimp and pull it into blender so it shows on the avastar mesh in there.

+gabbi cat you have to have the mesh selected and in edit mode. then go over to the material tab which is defaulted to the right hand side of the window. it should already have a material set to it. it might also depend if you are in blender render mode or cycles render mode. cycles render works better for this stuff. then you need to change the diffuse to texture on the properties and open the image. That will get it into blender. to have it display I believe I have a spot on the video on how to set up your nodes to get it to appear over top of another layer. if it's not there let me know I might have make a video on just that. been a while since I made this one so I don't know if I added that to it or not but I believe I did.

+C Endamist Hi again, and thankyou for your help. My lack of knowledge of the Blender programme is making it impossible for me to figure out how to get the image to show on the avatar in there, even with your instructions (I dont see a section in your video where you show us how to set up our nodes to get the image to show up, but I have set your video screen right next to my blender screen in an attempt to get all of my settings to match the ones you have set, but i must still be doing something wrong lol), but i realise you must have better things to do than to walk a total noob through this in the tiny baby steps it appears that i need lol. So thankyou for your help, I'll continue to try to figure it out.

This process does work with mesh bodies also. for the best fit and positioning I suggest getting the developer kit from the mesh body maker for appliers. Most will use the omega applies or they have their own system. Best of luck
