The lighter the skin of a sister or brother, the better looking the were considered by most. With mom being from New Orleans, I had a number of Creoles in my family. The color thing has only annoyed me when it's spoken, otherwise, I've always kept it moving. Because I had 2 families that loved me, and tons of friends from many cultures, being darkskinned never bothered me.
