    Hello , can i use them in edf 90mm 100 a draw ?? Because this battery has continious discharge rate 30 a.. to make 6s, if i connect 3 cells parallel and after 6(3) in series ? It would be 6s and the continious discharge rate it will be 30+30+30=90a right?

    Do you still use the original Wing fence, or printed some with a 3d printer ? Mine and many other received very crooked Wing fence

    another great video! Do you use a thrust tube in this setup?

    Do you run a higher kv motor to allow for voltage drop and set esc lower cut off or do they run same as lipo.
    found on ebay are about £9 per cell ? do you spot weld or solder the packs .
    interesting idea i run 8s in my edf will have the measure and see if i can get 16 in.

      The voltage drop is more than with LiPo, down to 3.3V with batt full and 2.8V by the end of a flight. So use a bit higher kv motor to compensate. But they stay way cooler than LiPo and are 40% lighter.

    Great job as usual on video and flight! Please keep the avanti videos comming! Maybe a landing lesson with the avanti would be cool. Thanks

    This is my 5 year without any lipos... they are expensive, heavier, and last less than Li On batteries... great video!

    I am a UAV and FPV hobbyist. I am interested in long range autonomous flight
    Is is possible to accomplish long range flight with the jetfan engine?
    For example, a long wing glider can carry few set of batteries connected in parallel. Will that provide
    a two hours flight and/or a long distance a fast speed???

    I am very interested in lithium ion batteries.
    Did you do DIY.. Please link to where you bought them.
    If it is a DIY battery, is there anything that left the production process as a video?

    Hi. I would also like to use these Samsung T40 Li-Ion packs for my Avanti. May I ask you if you used a spot welding unit or soldered the batteries? What cable diameter did you use (to withstand 70 A and more) and where did you get these plastic holders or connectors?

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  4 роки тому

      Soldering but with heavy 150W soldering gun

      You need to just quickly touch it not to heat up the battery. 12AWG, XT60, I designed it and 3D printed with ASA 290 C degrees. PLA 240C degrees will do too. email me I will give you the design wojtek@namaxa.com

      @@EDFjetRC the cell SAMSUNG 40T 21700 - 35A (or 45A) discharge and 4000mAh capacity. In 6s you have 21,6V nominal (3,6 per cell) or 25,2V max (4,2 per cell). But still 45A max. With paralell connection of 2 x 6s you made 8000mAh, but, how can you discharge them with 122Amp?

    I think you must charge this Li-Ion cell packages for at least 90 to 120 min.. So for me this wouldn`t be acceptable. Or you need several and charge them at home already and transport them fully loaded.

    • @EDFjetRC
      @EDFjetRC  4 роки тому +1

      I charge 1C - 1 hour at home and 2C 30min at the field. No problems.
