Good god, it just keeps getting worse and worse. There is so little inovation and soul left in the hardocre scene anymore. Everything seems to just be a remix of a remix of a remix of a remix. Just a new kick and some new vocals. I have been listening to masters of hardocre ever since 2005 (really since 2010 that I got the new album every year, some times 2 per year and on top of that also the annual dominator albums since 2010). And they used to be sooooo amazing good. When you turn the music up and the music stops again and and its 2/2,5 hours later and there were at most 1 or 2 tracks on the entire album that were not as good as the rest but still acceptible. I was always looking forward to the next one, blasting the albums all year long till the next release. In my opinion the peak was 2010 between 2012 and then the amount of great songs and "okay" songs started to switch more and more the other way around. Pole position Lap 2, The voice of mayhem, Italian mayhem, Statement of disorder, The depths of despair, Vortex of vengeance. Phenominal albums! But I feel like after that there were more and more songs on the album that had me going like "meh". I'm not saying there where no great tracks released on the albums at all anymore but thThey were kinda alright but I feel like there is just something is missing in the albums nowadays that these albums used to have... I recognize more and more things that just sound like they chopped up a previous melody. Which reminds me an awful lot of, well, mainsteam EDM. No soul or effort in to the melodies (which seem to get more and more cheesy) and the structure of the songs. Just tons of time in to creating a great kick and then they just flop some kind of choped up melody together and throw it on top of those kicks. I could name a book of songs that have basically got the same melody or where they just chopped up the melody/skreeches from another song and the imo misplaced use of shifting the song a chord lower (I'd have to look most of them up though. But for example the intro melody in "vault of violence" is pretty much just a copy of "Nirvana of noise" by art of fighters, which was the anthem of dominator in 2011). Now don't get me wrong som of the new kicks are great but the lack of a certain complextiy and originality in the melody kills most of those songs for me. Please, artists put some more soul and effort in to the melodies, skreeches and the structure of the songs instead of just developing kicks. Because without these things it's just some bass pounding away, which is great fun for a little while. But that's not the kind of music I fell in love with years ago when I first heard this kind of music. I understand you get paid per song but please don't lose sight of quality amd soul! Please, put some more time and effort in to what makes the actual song, not just a kick with a cheesy synth on top of it! Just listen to some other music styles aswell, that might help with some inspiration. Don't just copy it. Let it marinade in you brain and your brain will usually just come up with something at some point in the future. I'm sorry this turned in to a rant and probably no one reads this entire thing at all but I just had to get this of my chest as it has been bothering me for years now.
