Fascinating journey of your paired Discus with their fry, it’s always sad to loose so many fry so young at that critical stage of their young lives. 😐
I’ve liked and subbed, look forward to more of your channels videos. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

it was painful. to see them drop one by one everyday. I thought I would have a school of babies... however, 2 managed to survive, and today, they are about 3 inches long. One looks like the father, Turquiose. The other, has half blue tint like the mother and some stripes from the father. Too bad, I can't have more.. and I was hoping another discus pair in my collection will start breeding.. I will share videos when that happens.

PP is important especially on 2 weeks. I made a mistake not doing it early and lost about 15 babies. Also it would be better if your adult pair has been bathed in PP solution a week before laying eggs. 😄

I’ve read that you shouldn’t use PP treatment on them unless they are between 2/3 inches. Have a tank drill of 3 week old dry currently. Not sure what to do yet

    H, thx for video.
When did you place back the sponge filter ?

after 2 weeks. During their early days, the fries might confuse the sponge filter with the parents, hence, suggest you just aerated with an air stone.

Sir is true that small container or tank can stunt growth of discus? My is baby probably 1 inch in 8 gallon water? Can i still get big or do i need to transfer him to a big tank?

so far I have successfully grown discus in a small 50 litre tank and they grow to 5 and 6 inches. However, a bigger tank allows for more water and space for the fish. I do have one stunted discus in a 4 feet tank. Hence there is no evidence that suggest you need a huge tank to grow huge discus.

Not true..but less is better.. their are so many breeders that theyve already raised their fry in a 50 gallon tank and its around 20+ i think.. stunt cause by stress not enough feeding with such nutrients they need..diseases and water quality too...discus kinda sensitive compare to other fish.. if they got sick esp if theyre young the survival rate kinda low
