    How fun to enjoy the fruits of your garden. I look forward to when my raised beds for cut flowers are built. Maybe by fall, it's toooo hot for me and new plantings. Also, we are in stage 2 water restrictions.

    The bouquets show love and caring for your friend, plus your shared like of a country look. The flowers and other plant materials are vibrant and designed to banish the dismal look of a sick room. You are a good friend.

    Thanks to your instructive video I am going to try again to do a hand tied bouquet. I don't know how much time I have left with flowers from my garden but you've made me realize that you can do something small, it doesn't have to be a large scale bouquet. I agree with some of the other comments you do make it look easy but they were beautiful.
    I cut flowers from my garden for a friend visiting this summer, and she said it brightened her day. I'm sure your friend felt the same.

    Those arrangements look beautiful. I very much like the eclectic look they have. I have most of those very plants in my garden. I too like to use coleus in arrangements, but l had not considered dusty miller. Thanks for the inspiration! Hope the flowers cheer your friends.

      You make beautiful arrangements. My gardens are not looking too peachy right now. I'm definitely going to have to redo some things. It needs to make me happy like you have said before. Hope your friend with covid recovers quickly !!

      @@shesamadgardener ya if I remember to hydrate it the night before, otherwise it's sooooo dramatic.

    Hi! I’ve just now found you and love your style! I will be subscribing. I’m getting ready to do about 30 very informal mason jar arrangements for our church social in two days. Do you find that putting your fresh cut flowers in the refrigerator for about a day is helpful? Supposedly it “hardens them off”.
    Also, I’ve always been told to cut flowers in the early morning. You find it better to do so in the evening, correct?
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 💗

      Definitely cut early in the morning and yes, you can store them in the fridge to help them last longer.

    Beautiful arrangements. What variety of dusty miller is that?

    I don’t understand, if the flowers are just cut, how do they need to rehydrate? They haven’t been dehydrated

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  8 місяців тому

      When they are cut, they are removed from their hydration source, so I allow them to sit in water to make sure they are as hydrated as possible.
