I've been a fan of Anamanaguchi for about 3 years now? And I've never thought of their music the way you described it. You changed the way I think about them for the better, and I thank you for that!
milky tracker isn't NES. they used to use an NES then they switched to Milky for Endless Fantasy and recently Petes been using Ableton to open up their sound even further. it's really rad.
@likeluke i think the vocals are super cool, man! i hope there will be more songs like that, it's a nice way of mixing things up. killer drumming on all these songs too.
This would be the perfect band for Buckethead making a cameo appearance. This band needs one thing to become huge: the keyboard player needs to play those parts on stage. Playing a pre-recorded track like this is weird, too much resemblance of a playback, so I guess the answer to this band becoming huge is that.
+Kyubey They aren't, at least not most of it. I can hear what I think the guy on the left is playing and the lead is following what appears to be sampled effects. I'm new to these guys and I'm honestly a bit disappointed there is nobody doing the chiptunes live when the rest of it is so buried.
Orlandun202 they should at least have one guy on bass guitar (because I can here the bassline), Another guy on guitar (I can sort of hear the lead), The drummer is necessary, and the third guy should be on synth. What do you think??
+Kyubey They'd at least 2 dudes on synths to get all the other chip tune noises going in an authentic way. There's usually like 3 other instruments going.
***** Probably. I don't know all their songs. They have a lot of overlapping instruments and will layer on some extra random noises also. I was thinking probably one keyboard for the melody and one for harmonies and random noises. I think a lot of bands that have random noises like this have just prerecorded interludes and stuff though.
Chiptune and the carts and software that make them happen for the most part does not support traditional live play. (Discounting stuff like MIDItoNES that can only make use of one or two sound channels). Everything's transcoded beforehand in a "tracker" and then it's processed and played live by the NES or Game Boy. TMYK
You paint the torlex but, there are people who do custom jobs. I've seen leopard print cabs before. I used to cut sheets and put them I front of my cab. It's kinda cool live esp when you put paint that glows in black light and the bass shakes it.
I think you might've just chosen you chosen the wrong place to write down Anamanaguchi critiscism, don't get me wrong, I agree, it's hard to sing along to chip tunes alone. I'd probably listen to them a little more if they had a good singer. It would take the genre to a more post-punk thing, depending of the voice still
What a lively crowd! I wish people in my city were that energetic... most of the concerts I go to, every just stands around like zombies... it's pretty pathetic.
Wow. I was wrong. I though it would be a Japanese Girl behind Dj Turntables. (Since there was a girl on the album, I guessed that its just a girl) But nevermind. Its a band, Which is pretty awesome id say. Ive never heard a band play a little Electronica on Guitars. Hm.
A VERY CRIMNALLY UNDERLISTENED BAND
as a fan of solid drummers, thanks for this vid! :D
super awesome and btw i got some colored bass strings! thanks for the idea anamanaguchi! fav band ever i love these guys to death:) keep rockin
Love this guys. This sound makes feel in some kind of amazing 8 bits Wonderland. Thanks Anamanaguchi.

they def need someone playing the synth/chiptune-parts live
at least two more dudes armed with MIDI controllers and bam! awesome live chiptune.
They do. It's the fifth band member, their NES. It always sits nearby on one of the amps. It's using a modded cartridge.
As always, you're right, Vladimir.
milky tracker isn't NES. they used to use an NES then they switched to Milky for Endless Fantasy and recently Petes been using Ableton to open up their sound even further. it's really rad.
pretty sure by this time they switched from NES to laptop for convince reasons, but they do still record with an NES pretty sure
ARE YOU CALLING ME NICHE!? If you are, then thank you, that's the nicest thing anyone's ever told me.
That guitar is so fucking
Cool!
You are so fucking cool,

still don't understand why these guys are so fucking underrated. It pisses me off
HOW ARE THEY MAKING THOSE SOUNDS WITH THE GUITARS!!!!
I CALL HAX!!!!
+Kyubey They aren't, at least not most of it. I can hear what I think the guy on the left is playing and the lead is following what appears to be sampled effects. I'm new to these guys and I'm honestly a bit disappointed there is nobody doing the chiptunes live when the rest of it is so buried.

***** 2 dudes on synth, one on bass and one on drums and finally a guitar (like I said, I can hear the lead). Then it would work?????
***** Probably. I don't know all their songs. They have a lot of overlapping instruments and will layer on some extra random noises also. What is it with drummers and shirts? Were they hurt before?

sweetness :D
Hells yeah! I was at this show!
I remixed all my classic Reggae Chiptune tunes from a few years back. They all sound amazing now, please give them a listen!
They don't. The entire song is sampled and played through the PA, they're just kinda playing along quietly in the mix.
deez guys shred hard AF
for real, bro.-.
Great Song Brosss.... :v
well done xD
so are you guys bummed that the second to last song in this video has vocals?
6:50 this wasn't a track on Endless Fantasy o.O
its awessom333
Is there any way to pronounce (T_T)b in the English language?
My guess would be quite literal: "Yay I'm still crying"
(I’m thinking miku miku oo-ee-oo)
Is that ampeg fucking purple? Where do they get this stuff?
+Jurt E. (Jurt) Planet Peelander!
I would guess the same place Bubblegum Octopus gets a Speak and Spell that is modded for musical purposes...
+AdiosMofo what does that mean?! I want my ampeg to be purple
You paint the torlex but, there are people who do custom jobs. I've seen leopard print cabs before.

i wonder if that person singing at 19:26 is something original or its a different song? or something?
just some random guy in the background, i love him!
do they play along to a track?
Check out Machinae Supremacy
Awesome, but if they were playing the chilptunes live I'd be more into it
How do they do the sound effects on their guitar?
It's seriously awesome. I don't think it would work the same way if it wasn't that ominous, robotic, female voice though.
3:33 Master Wu Yang approves.
Meow
15:25 Sum Sum 41 goin on there?
Anyone know what song starts at 6:50???
...everything is so bright. I think I'm gonna vomit rainbows and furbys.

Well, this is SXSW festival in Austin. It's huge and people are excited to be there seeing tons of indie bands.
Wow. I was wrong. I though it would be a Japanese Girl behind Dj Turntables. (Since there was a girl on the album, I guessed that its just a girl) But nevermind. Its a band, Which is pretty awesome id say. Ive never heard a band play a little Electronica on Guitars. Hm.
Lots of bands do, look into it! SO GOOD!
(No one does it like these dudes tho ; )
What's the name of the first song
Brian Harmon space wax America (sorry, so late)
But the chiptune IS the vocals. :(
Dat guitar tho
singing would ruin it in my opion. they are perfect just the way they are.
name of the first song?
Sorry I'm late but it's Space Wax America from their album Endless Fantasy
They just remixed Wannabe - Spice Girls in a 8-Bit track. So Spice Girls is what youre looking for AHAHAHAH
19:13 Interlude + i'm sad haha
They do have some songs with vocals, though, and they're great. It's just not THEM singing.
Cool?
For a second I thought the guy on the left was wearing a Dir En Grey shirt ha ha
no.
16:37 FAIL XD
opo2 an iki..!?!?!? gak isok ngomong opo2..
