Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have always had problems getting really white buttercream, but not anymore! I didn't have any Sugarflair white, but used colormill white, as that's what I had. The results were so good & I got white buttercream. Tried it with red as well and was perfect xx
Brilliant I’m so pleased xxxx
Thank you for sharing. May I ask what is sugar fair and what usually use it for?
It’s a gel food colouring brand
Yes it is, you can try it without it will whiten but not as much. You will get a good effect though with just titanium dioxide xx
Thank you all.
This is amazing thank you so much. I was wondering if I was to use this method for buttercream for a cake, if I heat my bench scrapper to smooth out the sides of the cake would that effect the colour of this buttercream do you think?
Initially but it will dry back the same colour xx
Thank you so much for the reply.
Hi just wondering could you do this with swiss meringue buttercream?
Yes you can x
@@jinnyscakes great thanks for replying 👍
Can I also ask where did you buy titanium dioxide please?
Any cake supplier or amazon I can find you a link are you uk store or American x
@@jinnyscakes im in Ireland i looked it up on amazon but it says it won't deliver here
i just added sugarflair superwhite this has a high titanium content and works the same xx
@@jinnyscakes ok I think I have the sugarflair white ill have to check. I thought you added both to it there in the video
Did the vanilla essence not make it go a bit yellow? Sorry can't tell from the video.
No it didn’t, the titanium dioxide took the colour away. It’s working well on there. This is a great way to get pastel colours too even with darker colours as they are lightened as soon as you add them xxx
This looks great. But may I add for those who don't know, that you should never add the icing whitener to the whole batch of icing if you plan to color some of it. Doing so will cause the color(s) of the icing to be much lighter in color than it would be without the icing whitener.
One more thing, is that a kitchen aid that you're using?and does the creaming paddle come with it? Sorry for all the questions, I'm on the fb group as well, known by Jem. Usually there singing your praise too :D . Love your tutorials and explanations.
Yes it is, no unfortunately not I had to buy this separately, from kitchen aid, but it really is worth it xxx
