I hate that “XX ♥️ XX” would be considered controversial in 2021. The subreddit r/TwoXChromosones is now full of males, and women aren’t even allowed to feel upset by it.
They better have a mega magic eraser infused with some serious wizardry to erase me. I’m a proud lesbian, and will be here as long as there is breath in my lungs.
As a young lesbian who recently came out to my father this channel has been a great discovery that had helped me understand that im not the only one on earth so thank you
It's great to see two great break through lesbian books mentioned! Alice Walkers' The Color Purple, was such an eye opener into how black women were/are sexually abused by their own fathers for instance. But also how Shug introduced Celie to female sexuality through discovering the pleasure of her own clitoris, and same sex intimacy and love. The movie directed by Steven Spielberg left out the essence of this of course. The Price of Salt by Claire Morgan = Patricia Highsmith. Published in 1952 she was very brave to describe a lesbian love story which was recently release as a major film with the title Carol, a huge success. Worth watching with Cate Blanchett & Rooney Mara, being heterosexual women, doing quite a good job getting under the skin of same sex attracted lesbians. I only discovered your channel today! I subscribed and will follow. I have a long herstory with being an out lesbian from the Netherlands (now 3 decades in Australia), and uncovering lesbians from the past. We can't highlight and reclaim them enough! The constant erasure of us is persistent. And now it's the (LGB)TQ gender identify ideology influencing the world that men can not only 'identify' as 'women' but also as 'trans lesbians'. Never in my my description. NEVER! Margo in Melbourne xx
Hi Sapphic, great content-please continue to put this out there! If I had one critique, it would be using lesbian and queer interchangeably. I think it promotes ambiguity and equivocates lesbianism. We need to stop making it easier for others to negotiate a real part of our identity by pandering to their contrived distortion of language.
The World would be a much better place, 100%! If men could only let go of their machismo and narcissist ego's, and the destruction of the Earth. Sigh....
Nailed it!! The "Patriarchal Structure" and women constantly being viewed through a male lens is and has been key to Lesbian Erasure. This is so terribly sad, frustrating, and heartbreaking. The Bell and Weinberg percentages are horrific! This utterly ridiculous stigma must be dissipated immediately. Thanks for going in depth..some of these things I didn't know. Great piece!🫂
I became interested in a turn of the 20th century actress named Maude Adams. She was the inspiration for Richard Matheson’s story that became “Somewhere in Time”. When a comment on a youtube about her mentioned that she was a lesbian, someone else commented that this wasn’t true, that lesbians just wanted to think that..and then it became insulting. Many would really rather women in history be asexual than lesbian. History is going to be very hard to uncover.
Brilliant!... Your channel/content is a "marvel"! Exactly why I love it here so much! Perhaps someday we will all be able to move on from being "underground" Happy to support! Thank you so much for all your hard work!💕

I want to thank you for this video…it crystallized for me why I am obsessed with Gentleman Jack…beyond the attraction to Suranne …this video brought the importance of Lesbian history to me. Until I saw your video I did not know that this was missing in my own experience. I feel that I now have a real family history. Anne Lister and Ann Walker are my ancestors in a very real sense. Anne Lister was such an important person In Women’s history and she lived more than 200 years ago. FYI…I am 74 years old …. We never stop learning as long as we keep an open mind. I love all your videos and you have unique and thoughtful insights.
Alice Walker you mean? The Color Purple was such a breakthrough book/story. The film cut out the essence of it, it was directed by a man and he cut out the discovery of the 'clitoris' by the main female character. Here's hoping your feel lesbianly connected and still going strong Marie. xx
Some wlw most don’t know about: Yam Kim Fai and Pak Suet Sin - couple that played lovers in Cantonese opera multiple times. They lived together. Loïs Mailou Jones- Painter that met a woman (Céline Tabary) in Paris, and they moved back to America and lived together. Ignored by historians because she later married a man.
Dear TK, I have so many thoughts and feeling about this. Here is my short historic breakdown. Past: tragic, also life-affirming. Heroines were born of circumstance, and we are lucky to have some glimpse of it, however limited. Recent past: I'd say a varied experience for some of us. I for one have gotten lots of love as well as lots of misunderstanding. "So what will you do with your life?" "What a pity!" "I think you're just impulsive" "You have ruined my life!" "I thought lesbians just existed in books" are some things that have been said to me. But also, "I love you just the way you are". I've survived ok, but I suspect not everyone has. Present: Cookie Monster is my real name. No, really. I can't come out for Reasons, but forget about me. Things are much better, but now there is a backlash. Conservatives, centrists and libertarians push the idea that liberals are imposing some sort of gay agenda on the world. After finally achieving visibility, we are told that is infringing upon others' human rights. Future: Sigh...I don't know. I am somewhat pessimistic about what will come to pass. But I think They need to learn to love us, and it is partially in our hands to make it so. Love cannot be forced, it has to be earned. No, I don't know what that means. Peace and love, CM

In fact, everything is going much better now for the lesbian story. Any storical woman who is supposed to have been a lesbian is now categorized as trans- 😅
TQ cult is very detrimental to lesbians. Teen girls are lining up at gender clinics. Their fear of being 'branded' lesbians is so great, they rather self mutilate their bodies, have their breast cut off, take the new drug testosterone, and pretend to go through life as 'trans men'. Until...their bodies fall apart and regret what they've done. The list of detransitioners is growing and many of them now call themselves lesbians. 🤦♀😰
@@inesaldazabalruiz2793And would that empower trans people to co-opt lesbian historical figures? If you want to compete to see who is most oppressed, you have lost from the start: we are women and we are homosexuals!
Please continue videos on this topic of lesbophobia and lesbian erasure. Need need historical documentation for ourselves.
Homosexual women have been here, are here and will be here! Keep your heads up ladies. Resist the pressure to disappear XX ❤️XX
