We’ll be using TGTB Math 7 this coming school year 🙌🏻 Side note: your videos have been super encouraging for me from the very beginning of my ‘homeschooling era’ all the way up until now our 5th year homeschooling. Thank you for being honest! Thank you for being as genuine as you could! Because you make these efforts of honesty and transparency, the other like-minded mamas like myself get to glean what we can from you, and be challenged and/or confirmed in our efforts as well! You are appreciated.
I love that they did it in units!!! That’s actually how I print it out as we use the free PDFs, I’ve been printing it out in units, so it’s cool that they’re actually doing that with this level!
Thank you so much for this video! My current 7th grader has missed her opportunity to use it, but my 6th grader is very excited to use it next year. Thank you for your dedication to homeschooling families❤
The colored pages are incredibly important to my daughter as well. I'm so grateful to their program every day. Thank you for showing us; you've been so helpful on our own homeschool journey!
I've started printing off my books in this way and bind them seperately for the units and this is nice to see! Hopefully they will do this for all of the books eventually.
I'm so excited for this! I am hoping they get their pre-algebra course out next year because we absolutely love their math and want to continue on with it❤
@@GraceandGrit, I thought that Math 7 was supposed to be their pre-algebra course, but when I asked them if it was pre-algebra, they said that students will have two options after Math 6-- either math 7 or pre-algebra and then so on and so forth from there. They have a blog post on high school math that they directed me to. I would love to stay from them for the higher level math bc we absolutely love them!! I just need their curriculum creation timeline to be a little quicker--lol. I know their products are worth the wait though :)
@@alindsay7365ahh ok, I’ve asked for more clarification by just thumbing through it I was seeing a lot of pre algebra concepts so I thought it just wasn’t named that! ❤
I realize it varies greatly from state to state, but Math 6 was closer to what our local public schools were doing for pre-algebra and Math 7 is introducing concepts that our public school students won't see until Algebra 1 or in a class they call Math for Liberal Arts (statistics and set theory, for instance). I can't wait to see what TGTB Pre-Algebra Math 8 looks like. I suspect it will have more overlap with our expectations for Algebra 1. It has been my experience that, although the company says it is on grade level, this math program has helped my children gain skills far beyond that of their public schooled peers. (The same is true for Language Arts!) We eagerly await each new release. ❤
I’m switching my younger half of children to just continue on with TGTB math rather than doing teaching textbooks at 3rd grade. I’m so glad to see the books split into 4 units! Easier to manage!
Thank you so much for this video! We are currently finishing up this school year with Level 6 as well. I am curious what your plans are for your daughter once she's going into 8th Grade after completing Level 7 next year. I'm torn with moving into Shormann Pre-Algebra or if Algebra 1 would make more sense after finishing Level 7. I appreciate all your insight. 🙂
I would definitely have your child do the assessment on the website. We switched from Teaching Textbooks to TGTB. I was expecting to go into Math 5 after TT 4, but ended up choosing TGTB Math 4 after doing the assessment in order to cover gaps. Some of it is review for her, but I’d rather it be a little too easy in some parts than altogether too challenging.
Do you think completing Horizons Math 6 would adequately prepare my son to take Shorman Pre-Algebra? I know some of your kids transitioned to Teaching Textbooks 1st. We’ve only done Horizons for math & I was hoping to move him online after he finishes up Horizons 6. Just looking for advice.😃
This looks so good! My oldest will be in 8th next year and I am considering BJU science videos (thanks to you!); how long does it take your older children to use their science videos? We are coming from Abeka where the video length is longer (50 minutes) plus she has additional work for at least 30 minutes. I’m hoping BJU would be better science choice as it’s a direct one on one teacher (no classroom kids). Does it take your children around an hour to do science or 1.5-2 hours? Thanks!
We travel a lot and the thick math books are to heavy to take with us. I usually tear out the pages we need which is a shame. Now I won‘t have to do that for level 7.
My daughter is going to 7th and thinking to homeschool. She had BJU 6Math this year. What make you decide TGTB 7th Math over Shorman Math? I know you used that for your 7th grade kid when he was going to that Grade. I know every kid is different but I just want to know your reasoning behind. Thanks for the help! It’s hard decision for me. I like both! 😊

Oh I love how they are divided by units!!
Love this!! Thank you for sharing!!! I love that they have the books in individual units and problems worked out for you in the answer key 🙌🏼🙌🏼

From what I see this course is equivalent to a pre algebra course.

@@carrenpastrana6209 agree! But I’m not trying to compare or keep up to public school 😉
We are working through Math 4. We love it! So glad we have another level to look forward to.
I ordered mine as soon as it was released and just got it.
Love the smaller units! They should do that for all math and language arts!
I love this and I’m so excited. I’d like to do this instead of tt for my kids coming up.
Smart move!

can't wait to start math k with my K student next year--tgtb math didn't exist when my older kids started.
I think my son will be switching to this for 7th since Master books end at grade 6. I hope we don't need to go down a grade level!

Do you know if they will be coming out with Math all the way to 12th grade in future?
I saw that full high school courses are coming 2027!!!

So with math 7 being the oldest grade they do what would you recommend for highschool?

My reasoning is she’s excelling and not having any tears ever. So not changing something that’s working so well ❤️
Thank you!!! Makes sense!! I appreciate it!
With this unit would you consider it to to closer to Algebra?
Jenny Phillips mentioned in one of her videos that Math 8 will be pre-algebra material
Do you happen to know if there’s a math 8 coming?
Yes!
@@GraceandGrit that makes my heart so happy
