I so appreciate you! I have 4 kiddos as well, each will be 2 grades apart once all schooling, the oldest is currently in 2nd grade. You encourage me to keep going every time I watch one of your homeschooling videos.
Thank you for these types of videos! Actually, I love all of your videos. I always get a sense of peace watching them. They either let me know im on the right track or inspire changes for us or myself. Thank you ❤
cannot second your recommendation of shormann math enough! I did want to suggest their saxon program for younger kiddos. my 5th and 4th graders are using the saxon program, and i'm so thankful! there is grading i have to do, but this program is so much better than our previous program.
You have me sold on Shorman Math! We have another 3 years before my oldest is in pre-algebra, but it is great to see the next step from someone who has been there! Question though: do you know if this is a spiral or mastery curriculum?
Dr shoreman was my science teacher all through jr high and high school at our local homeschool group. It’s mind boggling that people from all over talk of his program. Right now I’m keeping pace with my older in Saxon 8/7 but will definitely look into Shoreman’s math as we progress. Love the video! It’s encouraging to see what people are little bit ahead are doing and how it works out for them. Thank you!
I 100% agree with Shorman Math even though my kids are not in high school math yet. Why, you say? Because Dr. Shorman got together with another professor, and they created Saxon Math, which starts from 3rd grade. My 2 eldest (7th and 4th graders) began it this year, and it's the same teaching method, system, and format which I AM IN LOVE WITH. You need to go through a separate source for the online grading called "my math assistant" or "nicole the math lady". But seprate from purchasing the textbooks (one time purchase) I just pay $12.99 a month through my math assistant and they access the Saxon Math videos plus do all their practice work and more on that database. And it is Dr. Shorman teaching the children as well.
First Ashlee I want to say thank you for all of your content. Even though the oldest child I am homeschooling right now is only in second grade I truly appreciate all of your videos and have them on my saved list as I watched them now so when I am home schooling my children at an older age I can definitely refer back to them! I had a lot of anxiety about homeschooling and I believe that God brought me to your channel for that specific reason. You have been a true encouragement to me! By the way that burnt orange color looks amazing on you. Thank you so much!
I agree on Dr Shormann’s math. I was looking for something that uses Euclid’s geometry in the course and this one did! Even better they tie in some old Saxon math. Bonus he teaches a Christian point of view and pushes virtue. We are taking Algebra 2. One month in my son is enjoying it. I love that you too stay active in their studies at this age. I do too. I am able to step away for cooking and chores but all in all I’m involved quite a bit. Wouldn’t miss these last few years on our last one at home for the world 🥺
Thanks. This was helpful. I have a 9th, 8th (doing some HS classes), and a 2nd grader. I'm trying to figure out the schedule. I don't want my olders off on their own the whole day. I like engaging with them and hearing their opinions. I've landed on something similar to your routine.
Thank you for sharing...watching videos like this one always give me the motivation to continue homeschooling...they also help with ideas or curriculum to try out.
Been awhile since I have checked a video! So glad I got to see this one today :) I hope yall are doing wonderful, it seems like you are thriving in your homeschool year. My daughter is enjoying dual enrollment, so thankful for your encouragement and insights on that. My son is still loving TGTB LA. Just continue us in your prayers as we navigate a recent health diagnosis. Also, have yall started the TT book yet? We have really enjoyed it and the Instincts one too.
Where do you come up with the electives? Are they just what comes to mind and you give them options or how do you work that in there? Forensic science would never naturally pop into my mind😄 or does your state have options for electives? Love the video!
What is your daughter using to learn American sign language? Your videos have really been a blessing and has been extremely helpful as I begin my 2nd year homeschooling.
Hi there! Thanks for sharing! It's very helpful. Just wondering.. are you familiar enough with Nicole the Math Lady to compare it to Shormann at all for us?
Off topic, but I’ve watched a video before where you talk about if TGTB is enough… I’m struggling with feeling it’s all “enough” for my sixth grader.. I cant find that video though.
I honestly think it absolutely is enough. I would switch to something different when you get to pre-algebra though. I also hear great things about Denison math
Do you have a video on your homeschool "whys"? I would love to go back and watch (or if you have new reasons why you homeschool), I would love to watch!
I am drowning 😢 I feel disheartened honestly. My day starts 8:30am and by the time im done, i try to grade on the way but with teaching 3 different levels (2 even have combined science, history) the grading is a nightmare. Because than i need to regrade once they fix their work. Or reteach. Or both. Its going into my night. Every day. Im going onto my 4th week and its not letting up. It was never like this with my older 2 (who just grad). Thanks for the video though. Im sorry for complaining. Im just drowning over her lol😮
It was teaching textbooks. And we are trying out math-u-see this year because even though my daughter likes Shormann enough, she was so bogged down with all the videos between that and BJU last year, which bummed me out. Anyway, thought I would answer!
Curious if you have advice on how to address extra help/support needs for a school subject. My daughter is using Shormann for the first time and is being challenged. Have you used any particular resources outside of Shormann for extra support on math topics they cover? She's definitely experiencing some healthy struggle but I don't want her to feel defeated by it. Im encouraging her to email them for help but she's refusing to do that right now and I'm struggling with not contacting them myself! Basically I'm wondering if you have words of wisdom when your high school child needs help and won't get/take it!
No questions but girl, that color looks fab on you!
Thankyou friend! You made my day!
I so appreciate you! I have 4 kiddos as well, each will be 2 grades apart once all schooling, the oldest is currently in 2nd grade. You encourage me to keep going every time I watch one of your homeschooling videos.

Thank you ❤
That makes me so happy! Thankyou for being here ❤️

Can you make a video explaining how you went about dual enrollment. Love your videos.
I have one, check the high school playlist?
That color looks fantastic on you.
Oh thank you!
Thanks for sharing and not forgetting us high school home teachers!

Great video. You’ve sold me on Shormann math and will definitely start using it when we get to that grade level. 💗
Wow your kiddos had some growth spurts this summer!!
I know!!
Such a great encouraging video! Thank you for this! ❤
We use Shorman math as well. Year 3 and really appreciate his curriculum.
It's so cute to hear the tapping of the puppy's nails on the floor 😂

Yes, it’s a hard balance to strike but one I’m thankful I found/cultivated
Thank you for sharing...watching videos like this one always give me the motivation to continue homeschooling...they also help with ideas or curriculum to try out.
I'm so glad!
What time do your kids wake up and do you wake them up? Thank you!
Loving your recommendation for Shoreman Math!! 🎉 thank you!!
Love this type of video! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed!
What Dave Ramsey course are they doing?

Praying over his health!

You're welcome 😊
I love videos like this 🤩
Your kids are awesome ❤
What is your daughter using to learn American sign language? Your videos have really been a blessing and has been extremely helpful as I begin my 2nd year homeschooling.
I think in a dif video she mentions bju for electives
Is she learning sign language in place of a foreign language?
I need to prioritize our family time for school
Loved this thank you ❤
You're so welcome!
Hi there! Thanks for sharing! It's very helpful. Just wondering.. are you familiar enough with Nicole the Math Lady to compare it to Shormann at all for us?
She has never used hers, but if it is working for you why change? Look up a Cathy Duffey review
Any thoughts or feedback on the ASL curriculum? My 8th grader is interested. Thank you for the video and your time.
Amazing! Get it!
Do you use ‘The Good and The Beautiful’ for all of elementary/middle school?
No, you can take a look at my curriculum picks for this year as well as the last 9-10 years under my playlist curriculum
Off topic, but I’ve watched a video before where you talk about if TGTB is enough… I’m struggling with feeling it’s all “enough” for my sixth grader.. I cant find that video though.

Your necklace is cute! Where is it from? I checked your Amazon and didn’t see it
It’s from alterd state!
Do you have a video on your homeschool "whys"? I would love to go back and watch (or if you have new reasons why you homeschool), I would love to watch!
Yes I do!
Can you please tell me what topics covered ASL?
I am drowning 😢

@brittanylawson8 oh thank you so much! Really needing them
Was he doing a discussion board? 😂 I hated those in college!
What was the math that you had used that had the gaps? Was it math u see? I tried it was a nice program but I needed more math for my kids.
It was teaching textbooks. And we are trying out math-u-see this year because even though my daughter likes Shormann enough, she was so bogged down with all the videos between that and BJU last year, which bummed me out. Anyway, thought I would answer!
Did you ever try Mr. D math?
No we didn’t!
I hear great things! I think it’s a good option if your child struggles a bit

Look into Denison math
