    1. At least the Velling news seems positive.
    2. Hopefully, the young DB’s can show some noticeable improvement with all the on-field experience this past week, and lots of mistakes to learn from.
    3. I think we need this game more than Rutgers. That’s an intangible which often is worth more than home field advantage.
    4. Go Green!

All these injuries need to be addressed, im not a physical trainer not a strength and conditioning coach, but its been 3-4 years of team decemating injuries across the board, its becoming a trend here in East Lansing...whats going on? Stop calling time outs on defense when opposing offenses are on their heels, you give them a chance to regroup and draw up a play...its happened multiple times this year, for christs sake look at Shiano calling a timeout against illinois this weekend on the field goal....average wise it burns you, this is not the NFL.

When Ken Mannie was the strength coach they didn’t seem to have as many injuries

My suggestion would be to give second string QB some snaps in the game…perhaps not this game but nest game or year… toss in some different looks on offense.. USE SPEED Veer, Wing -T, wishbone etc! Duffy changes up to the wishbone on Michigan… uoM defense was befuddled!

I know the coaches and staff say they love working for Smith… but the question is do they love winning? I can love my job but am I able to support my lifestyle? Can I succeed? Something has to give.

it's year 1, relax. This program was left in shambles and Smith has to pick up the pieces. Give it time.

@@YTSparty And now he's got all that experience under his belt. Would you rather cycle through coaching staffs every year until we find one that instantly wins us the natty? Have some patience.

@@pangoliff1932 Experience doing what? Sucking at recruiting? Having subpar seasons?
The excuses are unbearable. We brought in a guy whose last recruit class at Oregon State was #69 with no 4-stars. We're at #58 right now. If we lose Jace, imagine how far we drop.
Asking for a natty is the worst hyperbole. How about a winning season and a top 35 recruit class? You realize our recruit class in 2022/23 were #22/27.
I mean it doesn't matter because Smith has a buy out and he's going to be around for 2-3 years no matter what.
What did you expect? Suddenly he'd be recruiting like Nick Saban at MSU? Remember, he was doing crappy on the West Coast where he knew how to recruit. Now he's in the Midwest with no connections.

"I think Rutgers is good" - did anyone doubt this? He acts like we're playing Purdue again. Rutgers is better than MSU at this point. We'll be lucky to beat them.
Or maybe he's just leading with this so when we lose, we'll remember we lost to a good team. And he's covered.
