    Aim for a smaller target! This is the best piece of advice I picked up in the tones of videos I’ve watched. I started since COVID so it’s been about a year and I’m just now feeling like I’m getting somewhere, thanks to this lil advice that I only just now picked up

    It might be worth mentioning that when your practicing if your darts are going into the ones more or fives when scoring, it could be worth altering your stance over to the side where your darts end up. So for example if you find your darts are landing into the ones, move a little to the right. It's something that has really helped me with my darts.

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  3 роки тому

      Hey Bernie! Ive talked about that in a couple videos, I struggle with that sometimes!

    • @user-he2ou2ex2f
      @user-he2ou2ex2f 2 роки тому

      That's terrible advice. You're going into the 1s because there's a fundamental issue with your throw. If you have a tenancy to throw slightly to the right, standing a bit to the left to get 20s is setting yourself up to bad habits and throw.

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  2 роки тому +3

      If it’s a permanent move I think that’s good but yeah I def wouldn’t recommend changing your stance for different numbers. I used to move to the left when I hd double 16 and was missing a lot so just kept my same stance and made upper body adjustments for moving around the board

    Thank you for the instruction. While listening to you, something came to mind that I wanted to share with everyone. How about putting a black Sharpie dot in the center of all doubles and triples? Smaller, the better, as long as you can see it. Wishing everyone well from the Badlands of South Dakota.

      @Leo Smith if you really want to improve I seriously suggest following straight to the point darts channel. I've tried most of the advice from various players none of which has really helped me but the guy in the page I mentioned helps you understand the throw. I've improved massively from watching his videos.

    One thing that’s often overlooked about aiming your throw, whether it’s basketball, baseball etc, is that you don’t watch the ball after you throw/shoot. You keep your eye aimed at your target. Same in darts, if you’re aiming for trip 17 make sure you keep your eye on that exact point after you shoot and try not to watch the dart fly through the air.

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  2 роки тому

      Definitely!! Gotta stay focused on the target

  • @jregulatori4672

    Great advice but I still think one of the best habits is simply learning not to move. Try to be as still as possible during your entire throwing movement. You can have the most accurate sniper rifle in the world but it doesn't matter if you're shooting on a rocking boat. Standing still is just removes a huge variable. If you're ever able to view PDC dart players in person, just watch them from the back. You can barely even tell they're throwing since there is very little or no head movement. I often tell beginner players to even try playing flat footed to get the mechanics down and to minimize rocking forward/lifting your rear foot.

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  2 роки тому

      Definitely! I always say, don’t have anything moving except your arm

      @@michaszostak2757 I think some players developed bad habits early on but put enough time in to work with it. Jelle Klaasen and Jockie are other examples of players that move around a lot but still found success.

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  2 роки тому +1

      There’s def players out there with some movement, but I’d bet even they would suggest not to move lol

    Dartitis is 100 % physical!
    You've never known how a dart is thrown.
    You know what people state and you believe it

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  8 місяців тому

      I would argue that it’s 100% mental, and it’s the mental part that leads to the physical. So physical yes, but mental being the root cause

  • @BoJangles3105
    @BoJangles3105 8 місяців тому

    Bullshot darts
    Refers to my correct analysis that Dartitis is is not a mental/psychological affliction.
    Preferring the accepted and completely erroneous belief that it is. Whereas all that this tenet amounts to is an excuse.
    People need an excuse to explain an enigma that doesn't appear to have any answer.
    It cannot have an answer if the contaminated retain their current instructed train of thought.
    All the great players had and have this mind set and adopted the correct action.
    They didn't know they looked at it differently and took a routine in a different manner just as the mediocre sportsmen regard the elitist exponent as to be something really special no matter what sport or activities are attempted.
    I don't want to be associated with any subliminal inferences.
    Dartitis is easily beaten
    Can't see it or feel it!

    Pointing at your target is bad advice in my opinion , none of the professional players do this plus your not getting full follow through on your throw .

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  Рік тому +1

      I would argue most do but you just dont see them blatantly pointing, they have a fluid motion. But I also always say to each their own! Whatever works for you, works!

    • @rhyslewis5418
      @rhyslewis5418 Рік тому

      @Bullshot Darts A lot of people mention pointing mainly because of something Phil Taylor once said in a demonstration, but if you watch Phil Taylor throw he points nowhere near where his darts go. I should have said it's not great advice for beginners like myself (sorry) maybe if your trying to find your throw again. But i personally would promote a full follow through with the wrist as you can generate some of your throw from the wrist also. If you watch Straight to the point channel you'll see what i mean. Hes a darts coach and his channel is definitely worth a look. Not knocking you by the way , i do like your vids 👍🏻

    DO NOT FOLLOW THE TIP OF POINTING AT YOUR TARGET, look at the top players follow through and no one does this. It will force your elbow to lift and pop, ensuring that you push the dart, and not truly throwing

    • @BullshotDarts
      @BullshotDarts  3 роки тому +5

      I would say most of them do, it’s just more subtle looking than literally straight up pointing at it. The more you practice it the more natural it becomes and you flow into grabbing your next dart and don’t notice it. Not all tips work for everyone, give it a shot and see how it works

    • @squirrelpatrick3670
      @squirrelpatrick3670 3 роки тому

      I believe darts players do do this, maybe not all of them, and a subtle raising of the elbow around the release point will have the effect of smoothing the trajectory, i.e. less change in direction depending on the timing of the release.
