Should you back the latest kickstarter campaign from CMON, the 3rd time around in the Marvel United Universe, now actually the multiverse?

So I played Marvel United at a friends house, and it seems like something I would really enjoy. One of the major thing that bothers me is it would be very expensive to try to collect it all at this point especially with inflated secondary prices on kickstarter exclusive content. I know I don’t need all of it to enjoy the game, but if I really like something I tend to want to collect it all. With all of the other kickstarter games I’ve backed recently I’m just not willing to put that investment into MU. This new season is just piling on to the things I would need to get, and oh, that FOMO. I guess it’s just a problem I have with the push towards deluxe-ifying and kickstarter in general. Oh well, I’ll live.

Core is still a good back - get equipment cards for all seasons to mix and match
For con point 3 you started off calling it "power creep", but then you described what I would instead call "complexity creep". I completely disagree that there was power creep from season 1 to season 2, but I 100% agree that there was complexity creep. And I agree that season 3 will be even more complex, on average. Whether that's a good or bad thing is, of course, highly subjective.
Other than that quibble, I think you did a great job of laying out both cases.
MU and MU X-men are by far my favourite game that I have ever purchased and backed. Not only the game mode is extremely fun and thematic as a cooperative game, it also have fun solo mode and 4v1 and 3v3 modes that shake things up. But most importantly, its MARVEL! All the cards, the arts, graphics, minifigures are so nice and cute. It's just nice to collect even if you're not playing the game all the time. This time for season 3, I will probably just go for the basic pledge with all the SG. Mainly because I have no idea who most of the characters are. But I'm interested in the new solo mode, new equipment cards and new team cards mechanics!
For me, I just have the season one core box. Only bought it recently. I like the game but lack content. So for me I backed on the herald level for more heroes and villains. Sure, I would prefer the season one heroes but this KS gives me what I need - more variety. Mind you reprints of popular earlier expansions as optional buys would be awesome.
I back the 2nd campaign and added the 1st Season as an Add-on. It's very unfortunate and unfair that they're not offering past Seasons this time.
Pretty excited to see how this one roles out. I walked in not feeling the need to go all in at all, but already the inhumans box really surprised me. That one is almost as exciting to me as Fantastic 4 was last campaign.
Owning MU/MUX already, I can see myself maybe getting the Core pledge for this one only, for the Stretch Goals, the equipment cards, and the team cards, which I can then use with the content that I do already own. I don't think I need Galactus, as cool as his miniature is.
It's so cute hearing Americans say how $30 or $40 shipping is a lot. I have to pay that to get something the size of a dvd shipped to Canada from Ebay sellers. It's why I generally only purchase anything through Amazon. I was going to buy a backpack from an American retailer for $40 until they were about to charge $200 for shipping in checkout. CMON's shipping is quite reasonable.

storage solution: plastic bags in the promo box, baby. :) (CMON minis are pretty sturdy, they can handle it.)
I'd say straight up say you if have an all in of season 2 you do not need all in of this at all. This game is so light that you don't need 700 dollars of it. It would be a very bad with money purchase. It's gonna be another 30 heroes that feel the same as the previous 30 and some decently variable villains that probably aren't drastically better than the previous.

I wish I could just purchase the return of the sinister six expansion and the playmat without having to pledge for at least the core box as I'm not that interested in the characters in the multiverse pledge.

Still hate the concept of cmon making the same game over and over. Id love an expansion for ethnos but it would never happen because nobody would pay 400$ for the that. Oh well i keep saving my money lol
That's pretty much all CMON does, and why not? Very little effort or investment needed on CMON's part, and a fan base that will gobble up anything they dump out there. Easy money. Meanwhile projects that actually have years of work and passion behind them, and an actual game with solid mechanisms, struggle to fun as people complain they aren't getting enough "value" from them. And yet some of those same people will spend hundreds and hundreds of $, over and over, on the same filler level games with simplistic designs, very basic mechanisms, and piles of cheap plastic toys.
Yes i truely wish they would come up with some sort of real storage solution, the amount of boxes/wasted space i have of this is rediculous.

Nope not for me... January is allready booked with 2 games. Also, the only thing i would eventually back from CMON would be a zombicide game... None of CMON games are available in my area, the only way i can have a zombicide game will be a KS...
Price to get it to the UK is crazy.
As for most CMON Kickstarters, the only selling point for me in Italy are the KS exclusives. These are not free, we need to pay an extra VAT cost (no matter what people say, the retail price they are showing is the one already including VAT on European retail), shipping, not translated, no discount, bad service in case of damaged reception, no true reviews about gameplay (I know the game is fun in season 1 and 2 but we're never 100% sure) and last but not least: payed months in advance!

Just in case Chris does not read this, Chris stated on another video go for the herald pledge. This gives you the core box, stretch goals and the most tested expansion. He did state that a video would be coming later assessing the optional buys once they are released.

Lucky to get the promo box! I’m jealous. I too am wondering about the KS v the Xmen. Decided to go for the KS due to all the stretch goals. Mind you the xmen core box is worth it.
@@Linnir They might make some of the promo stuff available from S1 and/or S2 in this KS, unless I'm mistaken. I know people are speculating on it, but who knows?

Nope, not even close. Paying that amount of money for a kid's game is crazy to me. The game is way too simple, decisions are always obvious, and the "variety" is superficial at best.
I didn’t like Marvel United at all, so this was an easy pass for me!
