      I used to work with an Afro-Panamanian sister. She was a beautiful sister too.She hipped me and my homeboy on her background and family roots. She even showed us pictures of some of her family members and I thought that was cool.

    People in the US moreso in the white and also in the Mexican community I find them being so surprised when they find out that a black person is a Black Latino ⚫, and that individual comes from a black Latino culture, and his or her first language is Spanish. I am Panamanian from birth, from the Provincia de Colon, I have been in the US 🇺🇸 from 1957 because of my military service in the US Air Force, it was a cultural nightmare for me, I always had to explain myself to my fellow African Americans and everyone else, asking me how did I learned Spanish. I am very happy to see new these new cultural proprograms on 📺 TV shows, that is now bringing revelations to our existence as a people who have sacrifice so much for the civilization and development of this Western Hemisphere, It is about that we get proper recognition, and be free from the mental slavery of just being a black person, you know I'm surprised to hear you speaking Spanish. Please keep on doing a great job, telling this world 🌎 who we are. Let me also say that Equatorial New Guinea 🇵🇬 🇬🇳 on the African Continent is the only black Spanish ⚫ speaking country in Africa 🌍. I give God thank for you beautiful people in bringing to revelations the Afro Latino America' Culture. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.Saludos y muchas bendiciones siempre, tambien Feliz Ano Nuevo. God bless.

      You can be 100% black or 100% white and be a latino. It has nothing to do with race though.

    Latino actually is related to Latin and to Spanish and Spain thus Europe.
    Whereas Hispanic refers to countries in South America.
    So wouldn't Afro-Hispanic be a more accurate term here?

    • @mdiaz4669

      Nope. It's the opposite. Hispanic implies European (Spanish) descent. Latino refers to the countries of Latin-America and the Caribbean.

    The media? Please stop blaming the media for everything it's not the media's fault for not know you are not Latino, it your responsibility, most don't even speak Spanish and even I was surprised to know there were so many Afro Latinos here. Plus people can tell just by looking at you that your Afro.

    • @yomi8825
      @yomi8825 2 роки тому +5

      Disagree. Afro- is a suffix for African. Afro-American was a term used by Black Americans decades ago with both parents being born in the USA and that was acceptable for a time. Eventually it changed and became more common to say African-American and/or Black American. Why would it be any different for Afro-Latinos whose parents both are Black, African descendants from a Latin American country?
