  • After a ride one day my rear wheel was wobbling and I took the bike to the Trek dealer. They told me the wheel was bad and had to be replaced under warranty, however, there was no replacement wheel in stock. In this video I talk about the upgrades I ended up doing to my Trek Powerfly as a result of the problem I had.

I was able to leave the fender on. And if I didn't recommend this setup I would say so, it's definitely the way to go with this bike!

Hi, what cassette and chain did you use for these wheels?

I wish I knew, the shop just popped one on, I do believe it's made by Sram.

Wish the air tag holder was actually a light aswell, looks a bit silly if you want both, awesome upgrades!

That would be nice, but the electronics from the light might interfere with the range of the AirTag. Thanks!

OMG that AIR TRACKER.... that is weight you just added to your bike, now what? I have always LOVED the TREK Powerfly since the first moment I dat on one... but I see you have BASHED yours so much that I'd better go for a Heftier Powerfly..... not the FS but same better front forks wheels and pedals... I do about 800 kilometres or more a month on my current e-bike... from shocks needed as the sidewalks and paths are pretty jarring here...

I do ride hard and the bike has held up well. I think the stock components are just cheap, but the frame and motor are great.

Hi ya! Are thinking about upgrading your seatpost to dropper post in the future? I heard from a local bike shop mechanic here in auckland, that youll need to bring down the motor just to install the dropper post? Is it worth the upgrade or waste of time??

I probably won't get a dropper post because I don't ride a ton of downhill and there's not enough room in the frame to run another cable all the way to the handlebars

PNW Components makes an externally routed dropper post, the cascade 31.6mm diameter, that might work with this bike.

I have installed dropper (125mm) on my PF4, motor needs to go down indeed and it is tight. also you need to dissasemble locking mechanism for battery. Im riding my bike in the winter and for that dropper is nice to have. For me it was absolutley worth the investment!

@@MrArticus This is the way - I installed a PNW coast internal routed dropper on my wife's PF4 and it was totally worth it for the little bit of suspension but more so that she could get on and off being "vertically challenged." I had it in a bike stand with a bucket underneath to support the motor, super easy if you're used to wrenching on your own bikes.

I won’t be able to get by without the dropper post on my Powerfly. I use it on every downhill, even when commuting, as it gives me and my arms a rest.

I have placed AirTag inside the room for battery placement.
