He used it to tape movies off HBO and watch them again and again. Video rental wasn't all that common at that point and I don't think I had a concept of "video rental" yet. We were watching On Golden Pond and The Dark Crystal -- movies from the early 80's. Home video certainly was not a thing in 1977, when I first saw Star Wars, and I know I saw Empire Strikes Back multiple times in the theater. I also collected the bubble gum cards so I could relive scenes from the movie. I can't tell you when I first watched Star Wars at home. It was easily 10 or 15 years after the first movie came out in theaters -- which is the time period I was talking about in my comment. According to Wookiepedia, ROTJ came out on VHS (and Betamax!) in 1986. By this time, I knew several people with VCRs and all sorts of mom and pop shops were getting into video rental - but in the early 80's, it was the sort of thing where you could get your Star Wars fix by going to a convention and watching Hardware Wars on a big screen.
The idea to wear the costume backwards in order to achieve the correct legs is absolutely genius! Even the steps look similar to the real one, lol. Awesome. This is what I would call pandemic time well spent!

As a Christian, I really enjoyed the Christian themes throughout, but how it also showed how gruesome and dark a post-apocalyptic world would be like.

The main character Judah Ben-Hur is actually not in the bible but he is a wealthy king who gets condemned as a slave to the Roman Empire. It also has a very interesting story how it was made. Warner Brothers was on the brink of bankruptcy. They got the best director of the time and gave him an unlimited amount of money for the film. They told him if the movie flopped then there would be no more Warner Brothers. It's hard to choose a favorite movie though. There are just too many good ones out there. My favorites are probably: 1. Ford vs Ferrari 2. Castaway 3. Inception
Amazing to see a high quality copy of such an iconic scene from the original trilogy (without all the years of terrible post production effects added on top) like this one still around after all these years 🥹 Truly experiencing the art as it was originally intended 🥹

(and you can tell from Harrison Ford's acting that he didn't care anymore, that he didn't want to be there) Luke doesn't complete his Jedi training with Yoda, even though Yoda expressly told him in TESB that he had more training to do, that his training wasn't complete? Leia is Luke's sister, even though she sucked his face off in TESB? Darth Vader looks like Humpty Dumpty under his mask? That's why I don't understand why fans were so disappointed by the Phantom Menace. After ROTJ, I knew Lucas was losing it, although I still didn't expect Phantom Menace to be as bad as it was (Jar Jar Binks was just awful).

I've seen the argument that Stormtrooper armour is supposed to repel blaster shots just enough to stun and not kill Uhhh first of all I def saw holes burning in the chests of felled troopers in the OT so nah. They dead. Secondly if that even were the case, cope allowed, how are non-plasma based and blunt weapons so effective anyway? Basically the Stormtroopers' armour is a clamshell package can be cut by a pair of scissors if I got close enough.

Sure, this are soldiers and not law enforcement, but the empire doesn't really seems to care for training or operative security too much.
One of the more funnier moments when one of them is destroyed in Return Of The Jedi was where one of them gets smashed like a pancake with two logs slamming into it from both sides
Since that was models and/or CGI, better still was the mythbusters doing it for real, with BIG ASS LOGS hung from a massive frame and a van in the middle.
Now I need this as a full length film. It's really hard to tell the difference between this and the original. I held my breath the entire time. The craftsmanship on this job was truly unparalleled.. 😂😂😂 I give this 10 out of 10 droids up

Also fun fact the original endor set was logging land and was cut down. Thus the place was never a tourist spot.
Ehhhh tbf the shield generator at Endor was supposed to be a secret and logging the land would basically just scream "hey the empire has a base here"

One of the more funnier moments when one of them is destroyed in Return Of The Jedi was where one of them gets smashed like a pancake with two logs slamming into it from both sides
Since that was models and/or CGI, better still was the mythbusters doing it for real, with BIG ASS LOGS hung from a massive frame and a van in the middle.
I always felt a bit sorry for the crew of this AT-ST.
Now I need this as a full length film.
It's really hard to tell the difference between this and the original. I held my breath the entire time. The craftsmanship on this job was truly unparalleled.. 😂😂😂
